Such a wonderful care home, nothing to much trouble, it feels like he's being cared for as if they were his own family. Such a relief to find somewhere so wonderful and that spends the time, nothing is rushed

I had read the reviews of many places before having to make the hardest decision of my life to place my beloved husband in a home due to his deteriorating motor neurone disease and frontal temporal dementia. I couldn't have picked a better place for the comfort and facilities provided and the exceptional care of the Manager, Staff, Nurses, but also the reception staff and chefs. I have no qualms in recommending Marula Lodge. I was there every day for over 4 months so was able to observe the care first hand and in detail.

My husband's family came to visit him and they were made very welcome with tea and cake. They were very impressed by the care shown by the staff to the patients and the high standard of cleanliness of the residents and their surroundings.

My son was transferred from hospital in February. All staff have treated him with the utmost respect and have made this transfer much easier than I could have hoped for. He has been calm since his arrival and has been made to feel at ease, and able to ask for things that he wants and needs. Staff have treated him with respect and dignity. It has been lovely visiting him and seeing him, relaxed and happy. They have kept me informed of his progress.

My brother and I visited mum the day before her birthday as we couldn't make Monday which was her actual birthday. Gill and the rest of the team went out of their way to welcome us and make a fuss of mum (Sue) and ourselves for her birthday. Whenever we visit we see mum and the other residents are well cared for. We just turn up with no appointment and always receive the same great care. Any questions we have about mum or her care are answered with care and professionalism. Obviously we wish mum did not need this care (early onset of Alzheimer's) but the Pirbright Unit and team are great in their care for mum.

The Burren is somewhere that will take great care of my son. The staff are great and friendly nothing is to much trouble and its a lovely new home for him. So its gives all the family peace of mind.

I would like to pay tribute to the outstanding kindness, patience, and respect shown to my mother and the other residents at Marula Lodge. The staff are exceptional, taking genuine pride in providing the highest standard of care with warmth, willingness, and a wonderfully relaxed, homely approach. We feel incredibly fortunate to have each and every one of them. They not only care for my mother, but they also make our whole family feel welcome and supported too. I cannot recommend Marula Lodge highly enough.

Apart from a few issues with dirty tea cups, I have been very happy with my brother's care. He is physically healthier than he has been in years, mentally, he seems settled. I would like to see a bit more interaction from staff to get him watching TV/listening to music, but I know he always turns down help and won't ask for it. He needs more assistance than he will admit to do things. But overall, it is a very nice, friendly care home, and the patients are well looked after.

I am kept up to date and informed of any changes in behaviour or health concerns, which is very much appreciated. I would and do recommend South Africa Lodge to friends, family and colleagues. Thank you.

Marula Lodge is second to none with kind, specialised care. It's without a doubt the best care home my father has been in (4 all together). The Manager runs the home with pride and employs staff who truly care for the residents. It is the first place my father has been where I truly trust his care. The medical team have kept a close eye on his meds after he was given an incorrect cocktail of drugs in his last home. His health has improved beyond belief since being at Marula Lodge. We can't thank all the staff enough for their kindness and expertise. The relief is second to none. Thank you!

I found the home to be warm & welcoming with a clear leadership structure. Staff are engaging and helpful. Decor throughout the home is modern & bright. Ensuite rooms which are spotless as with communal areas. Nice outdoor area with activities. Would recommend.

All of the team are amazing. So welcoming.

I am happy with way my husband is treated, staff are friendly and make sure he is comfortable but also take the time to talk to him and ensure it is not just the physical needs that are met. He is always clean and so are all the accommodation he lives in. The staff also take time to ask me how I am and know me by name.

I have known South Africa Lodge for some years having visited a naval colleague who was so well cared for during his final years. My current visits are for my godson, now aged 62 who has sadly been poorly almost his whole life. The care given to both of them is exemplary. The whole place buzzes with compassion and enthusiasm and patience. We offer our sincere congratulations to every member of the team. Well done. Keep it up.

Very professional, greeted by reception by one staff member, friendly and efficient. Visit was short as my family member was sleepy. Staff very engaging. Was lovely to see my aunt rested.
