Apart from a few issues with dirty tea cups, I have been very happy with my brother's care. He is physically healthier than he has been in years, mentally, he seems settled. I would like to see a bit more interaction from staff to get him watching TV/listening to music, but I know he always turns down help and won't ask for it. He needs more assistance than he will admit to do things. But overall, it is a very nice, friendly care home, and the patients are well looked after.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're delighted to hear that your brother is feeling healthier and settled, and that you find our home friendly and caring. We appreciate your comments about the tea cups and staff interaction, and we'll review these areas to ensure we maintain the highest...
I am kept up to date and informed of any changes in behaviour or health concerns, which is very much appreciated. I would and do recommend South Africa Lodge to friends, family and colleagues. Thank you.

I found the home to be warm & welcoming with a clear leadership structure. Staff are engaging and helpful. Decor throughout the home is modern & bright. Ensuite rooms which are spotless as with communal areas. Nice outdoor area with activities. Would recommend.
Thank you for your review of South Africa Lodge, we always appreciate people taking the time to share this for our teams. If you feel there are any areas we could work on to reach the 5 stars, please do feel free to discuss with a member of the team as we are always keen to develop and deliver the best care for our residents.
I am happy with way my husband is treated, staff are friendly and make sure he is comfortable but also take the time to talk to him and ensure it is not just the physical needs that are met. He is always clean and so are all the accommodation he lives in. The staff also take time to ask me how I am and know me by name.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It means the world to us to know that your husband feels cared for-not just physically, but emotionally too. We believe every resident deserves dignity, warmth, and genuine connection, and we're so glad that's been your experience. Knowing that you feel seen...
I have known South Africa Lodge for some years having visited a naval colleague who was so well cared for during his final years. My current visits are for my godson, now aged 62 who has sadly been poorly almost his whole life. The care given to both of them is exemplary. The whole place buzzes with compassion and enthusiasm and patience. We offer our sincere congratulations to every member of the team. Well done. Keep it up.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt words and continued support over the years. We're honoured to have cared for both your naval colleague and your godson, and it's incredibly rewarding to hear that our team's compassion and dedication have made a lasting impression. Your kind message means the world to us and will be shared with the whole team. We'll certainly keep doing our very best.
Very professional, greeted by reception by one staff member, friendly and efficient. Visit was short as my family member was sleepy. Staff very engaging. Was lovely to see my aunt rested.

It is difficult for me to give a comprehensive review as we live in Spain and cannot visit very often, although we have weekly video conferences. Circumstances have been very difficult these last years and we are very pleased how mum has been treated and we see that she still has a quality of life. This is mainly due to the great work of all of the employees. We very much appreciate it. I don't see how mum could be in better hands. Thank you very much, it is very appreciated.
Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful review. We understand how challenging it can be to be far away, and we're truly grateful that you've entrusted us with your mum's care. It means a great deal to hear that she continues to enjoy a good quality of life and that our team's efforts are making a positive difference. Your appreciation is deeply valued by all of us-thank you again.
Excellent receptionists. Immaculately clean premises. Lovely staff. My friend, the resident, appears to like where she is now residing. This home is head and shoulders above other homes I have visited.
We are so pleased to hear your friend is enjoying her new home and that you feel it is a great service. This is why our teams come to work everyday and it means so much when people take the time to share this feedback. Thank you.
The staff and reception are really friendly. Made us coffee, hot chocolate. The lady on Transport was very friendly and was telling us that she takes the residents out and where she takes them. Lovely for them, she had so much patience. The home is really clean, flowers are everywhere. Lovely to walk into.Very lovely place to go to 10/10.

Mum has moved lodge a few months ago which she has now settled and got used to the staff. All the staff are very nice which I think has helped mum settle. She likes her new room which is a lot bigger so we spend most visits in her room.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're so pleased to hear that your mum has settled in well and is enjoying her new room. It's wonderful to know that our staff have helped make the transition smooth and comfortable. We're always here to support her and make every visit special.
This is a very caring, attentive, kind and supportive environment, where staff offer personalised care to all patients/residents. It has a homely feel to allow residents to feel relaxed and part of the family, and included in all activities. There is always a positive and fun atmosphere, making moments and experiences accessible to everyone.

South Africa Lodge is a first class Nursing Home! This is the fourth NH he has been a resident and the first one he has really settled in. The staff are well trained, skilful and caring and have taken the time to understand his needs and wants to help make his stay as enjoyable as possible. The new manager is a strong presence, very proactive and has made a big difference. Thank you so much!

Before visiting my friend I called numerous times and spoke with both receptionists. Both of whom were very helpful in assisting the times best suted for my friend to get the best out of her visit. All staff were very helpful and my friend seemd very happy wtih living at South Africa Lodge.
Thank you for your lovely feedback on your experience visiting South Africa Lodge. Your words mean a lot to our team who are very passionate about supporting not only our residents but their friends and family too.
There has been a change for the better over the last couple of months. Seeing less agency carers can only be a huge benefit to residents. Carers are taking time to get to know residents likes/dislikes, personalities. Staff are very friendly and consider both families and residents and are always happy to help and respect situations. The recent increase in activities staff is hugely valuable helping residents to have a more interesting day. I feel a second minibus & driver would be a really lovely opportunity for more residents to go out and more often. Food has improved greatly. Thank you to all at South Africa Lodge.
Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We're delighted to hear that you've noticed positive changes and improvements in recent months. Our team is committed to providing a welcoming and caring environment for residents and their families, and it's wonderful to see that reflected in...
My brother has been a resident at South Africa Lodge for 9 years and I wouldn't want him to live anywhere else. The home is very clean and modern and all the staff are great. Really friendly and supportive. I can honestly say I have not a member of staff I have not liked. They treat us like family and we always feel welcome. The reception staff are always there with a welcoming smile. I honestly cannot fault anything. They are always finding an excuse for a party, garden fete etc and so much goes in to making these days enjoyable for residents and visitors.
Thank you for your heartfelt words. It means so much to us that South Africa Lodge feels like home for your brother and that our team's care and support make such a difference. We're delighted that you always feel welcome and enjoy the wonderful events we host. Your kind feedback is truly inspiring!
