I am very happy with the care my father receives at The Croft. His room and the lounge area are very comfortable and the small size of the home suits dad very well. The staff who care for dad on a day to day basis are excellent - over the past months they have taken the trouble to get to know dad and
understand his needs, even though he communicates very little. They are kind, calm and patient - exactly what is needed.
Reply from Joanne Evans, General Manager at The CroftThank you so much for your kind words, Dad is a much loved resident at The Croft.

Our 96 year-old Mum is now a full-time resident at The Croft.
This is her first time in a care-home, previously she had lived independently and arrived here in March 2026 on a trial basis following a prolonged stay at hospital.
The Croft was not the only home we viewed, we did view others and we did
ask around for other peoples experiences, opinions and recommendations. It was however the one that gave us the best first impression and as a family we are very pleased with our decision.
Mum has adapted really well to her new surroundings, has bonded very nicely with ALL of the wonderful staff, enjoys the excellent meals, benefits significantly from the support she receives with medication and personal hygiene needs and has come to realise that The Croft is the safest and best environment for her future years.
Reply from Joanne Evans, General Manager at The CroftThank you so much for taking time to write this review. Mum is a pleasure to care for, thank you for choosing The Croft.

Making the decision to place our father into residential care was one of the hardest things my brother and I have ever had to do. It was something Dad himself had always feared, so naturally we carried a huge amount of worry and guilt.
However, from the moment he arrived, the staff showed him kindness,
patience and genuine care. Over time he settled far better than we ever imagined possible. He was treated with dignity, humour and affection, and it became clear that many of the staff were genuinely fond of him - which meant the world to us.
Dad put on weight, looked healthier and was far better cared for than we could ever have managed alone. The staff not only looked after his physical needs, but also made him feel valued and safe in what became his home during his final years.
We will always be grateful for the compassion shown to both Dad and our family during such a difficult chapter of our lives. Thank you for caring for him so well.
Reply from Joanne Evans, General Manager at HeathermountThank you so much for these amazing words. It was a pleasure to care for Dad, he will be forever remembered at Heathermount.

As a family we are so pleased my Dad is at The Croft. Staff have show kindness and respect to my Dad since he moved there in January. This week has been particularly notable to us as a family as he has had a few medical issues which have been dealt with professionally and promptly by staff resulting
in my Dad get great care very quickly. My Dad said today he felt the best he'd been for months and he felt calm. This was so wonderful to hear and to share with my family. He is definitely treated with dignity. Staff are very kind and caring to him. Thank you.

I visited my sister and received a most pleasant welcome. All the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and provided a most welcome drink. Having travelled quite a distance. Surroundings and the home generally, were very comfortable. The staff were extremely kind and courteous. My sister appears
very happy. All in all, I was very impressed.

Peter went into The Croft 6th June 2025 - plenty of attention at first and got to know the staff and the regime. Shower in the mornings - change of staff - now shower in the night time (10 o'clock last night) shortage of staff - every day! Some are very caring and have time to talk.
Reply from Joanne Evans, General Manager at The CroftThank you so much for taking the time to complete the review form. We truly value feedback, and I want to reassure you that we always take great care to discuss every aspect of support with our residents. Their preferences, comfort, and choices guide everything we do. We monitor our staffing levels closely using a dependency tool to make sure we have the right support in place. Even so, there are moments-simply due to the nature of the service-when things can become a little busier than usual. On those occasions, tasks like showers may happen slightly later than planned, but we always ensure they are carried out safely, respectfully, and with the resident's wellbeing at the center of our approach. Our managers are always here if you'd like to talk through any concerns, and we're more than happy to listen and support in any way we can.

My mum has been living at Heathermount for over two years now, and I can see that she feels very at home and at peace there. She loves her spacious room where she can comfortably have family and friends around her, but more recently she has started to spend a little more time in the company of others
in the lounge where she enjoys the crafts, discussions, exercises and outings that the activities worker Cheryl arranges, and the singalongs with George the visiting pianist. All the staff mix professionalism with real warmth and care for the residents; everyone is treated as an individual and their little ways and foibles respected. There is a lovely vibe at Heathermount which you don't find in some of the larger, smarter looking care homes; Heathermount looks and feels like a family home where everyone is cherished and valued. The staff never miss an opportunity to celebrate - anything, and the food is always great, genuine home cooking along with new dishes for the residents to try!

My mum has been a resident of The Croft for 3 years, when she became unable to live on her own due to dementia. We were delighted to find such an intimate, homely and welcoming care home with just 10 residents. The CEO and management have always worked with us to ensure that Mum has the best care possible.
All the staff have this caring and friendly attitude too and this has been so reassuring to us as Mum's health failed. Mum is now nearing the end of her life and I can't tell you how relieved we are that she is being so well cared for by the staff at The Croft.

All staff are exceptional, dedicated and caring - if there are problems (which there will be anywhere) they are always resolved effectively and efficiently. Nothing is too much trouble, and Mum is always treated with the utmost dignity. We consider ourselves so fortunate to have Mum safely in the arms
of the Heathermount family

My friend has been here now for over 2 years and has been well looked after by friendly staff. She settled in very quickly and regards it as her home where she feels safe. She enjoys the activities particularly singing with the pianist when he comes.
She had a worrying period of very poor health requiring
hospital admission. The director of the group was very supportive and helpful in getting her back to the home.

The care home was recommended to us by carers who were looking after my mother at home. Following a period of hospitalisation we managed to secure a place at The Croft and from day one all the staff and managers associated with the care home have been fantastic. They are caring, compassionate, friendly
and welcoming and we have built up a fantastic and humorous rapport with those caring for mum. They somehow manage to keep mum smiling despite her frailty.
We can't thank the staff enough for the care that they deliver.
There are always sufficient staff on hand both day and night to meet mums care needs and those of the other residents.
We are always made welcome whenever we visit and the home put on a special birthday celebration for a small group of family and friends the other week. Thanks again to the chef and all the special staff xx
Reply from Joanne Evans, General Manager at The CroftWhat a lovely review, thank you so much. It was a pleasure to have a 90th birthday party for Mum, so glad you all enjoyed it.

My father feels very comfortable and extremely happy at The Croft. He is very well cared for by all the staff. The meals are excellent. The activities to help brighten his days are creative and very enjoyable for him. To be able to see a doctor once a week is very reassuring for him. He has gained confidence
and an ability to relax and enjoy life. As a family we are very happy for him.
