I am very happy with the care my father receives at The Croft. His room and the lounge area are very comfortable and the small size of the home suits dad very well. The staff who care for dad on a day to day basis are excellent - over the past months they have taken the trouble to get to know dad and understand his needs, even though he communicates very little. They are kind, calm and patient - exactly what is needed.

Our 96 year-old Mum is now a full-time resident at The Croft.
This is her first time in a care-home, previously she had lived independently and arrived here in March 2026 on a trial basis following a prolonged stay at hospital.
The Croft was not the only home we viewed, we did view others and we did ask around for other peoples experiences, opinions and recommendations. It was however the one that gave us the best first impression and as a family we are very pleased with our decision.

Mum has adapted really well to her new surroundings, has bonded very nicely with ALL of the wonderful staff, enjoys the excellent meals, benefits significantly from the support she receives with medication and personal hygiene needs and has come to realise that The Croft is the safest and best environment for her future years.

As a family we are so pleased my Dad is at The Croft. Staff have show kindness and respect to my Dad since he moved there in January. This week has been particularly notable to us as a family as he has had a few medical issues which have been dealt with professionally and promptly by staff resulting in my Dad get great care very quickly. My Dad said today he felt the best he'd been for months and he felt calm. This was so wonderful to hear and to share with my family. He is definitely treated with dignity. Staff are very kind and caring to him. Thank you.

Peter went into The Croft 6th June 2025 - plenty of attention at first and got to know the staff and the regime. Shower in the mornings - change of staff - now shower in the night time (10 o'clock last night) shortage of staff - every day! Some are very caring and have time to talk.

My mum has been a resident of The Croft for 3 years, when she became unable to live on her own due to dementia. We were delighted to find such an intimate, homely and welcoming care home with just 10 residents. The CEO and management have always worked with us to ensure that Mum has the best care possible. All the staff have this caring and friendly attitude too and this has been so reassuring to us as Mum's health failed. Mum is now nearing the end of her life and I can't tell you how relieved we are that she is being so well cared for by the staff at The Croft.

The care home was recommended to us by carers who were looking after my mother at home. Following a period of hospitalisation we managed to secure a place at The Croft and from day one all the staff and managers associated with the care home have been fantastic. They are caring, compassionate, friendly and welcoming and we have built up a fantastic and humorous rapport with those caring for mum. They somehow manage to keep mum smiling despite her frailty.

We can't thank the staff enough for the care that they deliver.

There are always sufficient staff on hand both day and night to meet mums care needs and those of the other residents.

We are always made welcome whenever we visit and the home put on a special birthday celebration for a small group of family and friends the other week. Thanks again to the chef and all the special staff xx

My father feels very comfortable and extremely happy at The Croft. He is very well cared for by all the staff. The meals are excellent. The activities to help brighten his days are creative and very enjoyable for him. To be able to see a doctor once a week is very reassuring for him. He has gained confidence and an ability to relax and enjoy life. As a family we are very happy for him.

Croft review:
I can't speak highly enough about the entire team at the Croft.
They have managed our mum's transition from complete independence to a need for daily physical support with a fantastic level of professionalism, empathy, and dignity plus humour and warmth.

The Croft isn't a Care home, it's a second family and I don't know where we would have been without them.

My sister came to The Croft approximately eight months ago. All the staff including the chef are outstanding! They genuinely care about the resits, nothing is too much trouble! If you want a particular food they will get it in. The food is excellent, full of flavours and attractively presented! The upgraded lounge is enjoyed by the residents and visitors. A doctor visits weekly and when needed, which is reassuring.

As always the staff at The Croft are kind, helpful and always ready to assist when needed. Quite often they are very busy and will still go out of their way to assist my mother. They have a good sense of humour and always have a smile and a joke when needed. It's a very hard job but everyone I have met at The Croft does their very best to help and make sure residents are in comfort and happy!

My first stay in a care home and I can't believe how lucky I am to have chosen this one. From the moment I arrived, nothing has too much trouble. The food is excellent, plenty of tea or coffee (most important!) and the care is exceptional. I am not here permanently but if I ever need care again I hope there will be a room for me here.

Moving to residential care in 2017 I became registered Manager at Heathermount where I stayed for 4 years.

During this time, the home was visited by CQC and gained a GOOD in all areas of inspection.

In 2021 I was promoted to General Manager of Allandale Care Group, and I am also the Nominated Individual with CQC.. My main duties are to oversee all regulated activities and ensure our services are well run.

In my free time, I like to listen to music, of all kinds, and I am a huge football fan, especially Liverpool FC. I have 3 Grandchildren who spend a lot of time at ‘nanny’s’ house.

I have 10 years of experience in the care industry. I started my career as a mental health support worker whilst I was studying a level 3 childcare and education qualification.

Whilst working as a mental health support worker I discovered my passion for providing care and support to vulnerable individuals and that I wished to progress within the health and social care sector. In the following years, I worked across several services providing care to vulnerable adults of all ages. In 2018 I was employed as a senior healthcare assistant within an elderly residential home, and I knew straight away that this is where my heart lies, I felt like I was home. In 2019 I started working towards a bachelor’s degree in health and social care whilst working full time. I initially started the degree as I have always been an avid learner and wished to enhance my knowledge in all areas of the health and social care sector. I started my career as a registered manager in early 2021, I joined Allandale Care Group as a registered manager in June 2023. During my brief time at Allandale Care Group, I have supported my team to achieve an ‘excellent’ rating when inspected by PAMMS, my team and I are enormously proud of this achievement.

I look forward to my future within Allandale Care Group.

I have always worked in the financial background for at least 30 years. Working in different sectors of the industry I have gained numerous years of valuable experience in all fields.

I have worked on trading desks in the raw commodities industry looking after high-volume invoicing and credit control, reporting to the Directors, and dealing with our European customers. I enjoyed a period within the Sea safety industry looking after the accounts for all our offices located up and down the country and dealing with all the stock involved. I have also worked within the construction sector, which was extremely demanding and busy, looking after payroll for our subsidiary companies and dealing with CIS, and a high level of invoicing and accountancy reporting.

I have studied at college to gain my AAT Certification.

After taking a break to look after my family and raise my children, I decided I wanted to go back to work. I was approached by Allandale Care Group for an interview, I was extremely impressed with the Overall engagement with the staff and employees. No stone is left unturned, the respect and work ethos are very apparent from all. I am a compassionate person with a caring nature and did not hesitate to accept the job offer from the CEO Of Allandale Care Group and look forward to many years ahead.

In my free time, I engage in lots of activities with my family. I come from a big family and my house is always full of friends and family.

I chose to become a care assistant because working with elderly people has always been a passion of mine, and it deepened ever since I cared for my mum during the final months of her life, whilst it was difficult at the time I understood it wasn’t about how I felt, it was about how my mum felt. I aimed to ensure that she was comfortable, not in pain, comforted and overall someone who was there for her. This is why I feel that working alongside people who struggle for various reasons whether it be age or illness and helping them feel independent again is something I hold close to my heart.

Being a care assistant who can provide physical and emotional support to those in need, being a good listener, a good team member, and being a listening ear to not only the residents but their families as well if they need to talk, and being the reassurance, they need when they are scared. Being able to share their happy memories with them and creating more happy experiences for them when they may believe it is no longer possible is what I aim to achieve. That within itself is one of the main reasons why I am passionate about this type of work, being able to give back to people who have helped people throughout their lives is a small token of appreciation to me.

I joined Allandale Care Group in 2019 as a night care assistant, and since then I have developed my skills and knowledge with support from everyone from care staff to management. I have been given the opportunity to take on the role of Care team Leader which I am immensely proud of. I can only thank the Management for this as the support they have given me and continue to have only helped me grow within my role.

Kate progressed to deputy manager in 2024.
