Had a brilliant experience with the knells from the very first moment it felt like home from home. My mum had resided with myself for 6years prior to needing 24hr care after suffering a stroke. The activities, food, hygiene and care are excellent. Really feels everyone is part of a massive family. I feel both relieved and happy that we have found somewhere so lovely.

Mum was a long term resident at The Knells for approx 13 yrs. At all times, she was cared for lovingly by all the staff. They maintained high levels of personal care, even in latter years when she was completely bed bound. We have the highest of praise for The Knells - a lovely home, clean, welcoming, good facilities, good staff and management.

When we found my dad was struggling living alone in February this year, we had a look around several residential care homes in Carlisle. While they were all very nice, none of them felt quite right for him. Then we stumbled upon The Knells on this very website. A quick phone call lead to a visit the next day! The moment we walked through the door it felt like home. The staff are FANTASTIC. Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The residents are always beautifully dressed and those who are able are up and about, enjoying the many activities going on each day. There is always someone around for a chat with residents and visitors. My dad has settled in very well and is still very mobile which is encouraged by staff who take him for walks around the beautiful gardens every day. He has a few issues with confusion in the afternoons and staff deal with this calmly and effectively. We are so happy we found this little hidden gem!

Just a quick addition to my recent review. The atmosphere in the Knells has lightened considerably under the new management team and it has a really happy feel the moment you're in the door. Thank you to all concerned.

My husband is well looked after and aware of his problems. Also the food is good and there is always something going on.

I have been very pleased with all the care and facilities at The Knells Country House Care home. I couldn't thank all the staff enough for the way they go above and beyond to keep everyone happy. My mother is very happy there.

Staff are communicative and friendly. A messaging app is useful tool to relay information and observe residents activities. My Father is well cared for. His needs are catered for and community staff are involved in his care when required.

We feel really lucky to have found Middleton Hall to look after mum. From the first day, we were able to relax knowing that mum was in safe hands. All the staff work hard making sure the residents are entertained.

Middleton Hall is a lovely care home. Very clean, lots going on and everyone very friendly. There are lots of events and the home is visited by singers quite often. There's a nice outside area to sit outside, weather permitting. Residents are always encouraged to join in with events.

Mum has lived at Middleton Hall Care home for over 5 years now. I have nothing but praise for the care home. The carers are dedicated, friendly and extremely hard-working. The home is always spotlessly clean and the food is excellent. Each day there are various activities going on which the residents can take part in. Staff work tirelessly to make sure that residents are well cared for. Families are always made welcome and the home holds lots of events which encourage families to visit and take part with their loved ones. Thank you to everyone at Middleton Hall for looking after my mum.

We have found that the Middleton Hall Care Home to be caring, clean and well run.the staff are always helpful.

The staff are so friendly and patient, my dad moved here as he was unhappy in his previous care home, since he moved here he's been happier and socialises a lot more with other residents. He feels more comfortable and he gets on with all the staff, who go above and beyond to make sure all residents feel at home.

My mum has been a resident at the home for approximately a year. During this time my mum has been well cared for. The home is clean and tidy at all times. The staff are friendly, caring and supportive to all. The kitchen staff provide nutritious meals and cater for activity days/fundraising days. My mum's favourite time is when the hairdresser attends and she has her hair done. Thank you to all staff for providing a safe, comfortable, clean and happy space.

My dad passed away on the 14th of March this year, he was a resident for eight years at The Knells. First he was a resident with my mum, who died six years ago. My dad was 101 years old, in his time at The Kenlls he was treated with respect, dignity and love from the lasses! and the lads in all his time there. He was as happy as he could be without my mum. His great age was celebrated many times with parties and cakes etc. I believe he lived so long due to being so well looked after at The Knells.

It has transformed the home into a more relaxed happy place for visitors also.

The Knells is a lovely care home where every resident is viewed as an individual and treated with kindness, compassion and dignity. Cannot praise the staff highly enough - all go above and beyond. The activities' team is first class bringing endless cheer and laughter to their packed rota of events designed to stimulate, entertain and help residents make the most of every day. Food at The knells is also great and plentiful and residents feel very at home here.

Staff are aways helpful when I visit Iand always feel she is safe in their care.

Very very happy with the care my Mother's has recieved since being in The Knells. The atmosphere as soon as you walk in the front door is Friendly and Homely. Truely one of the better homes. Thank you to everyone.

Middleton Hall Care Home well what can I say fabulous care staff who go above and beyond for every resident. The home is very clean, a friendly atmosphere, would highly recommend Middleton Hall Care Home. The staff show compassion towards residents respect their privacy and dignity towards residents.
