My Sister Hazel has been a resident at Bramley House for 5 years. The care given to her at Bramley is extremely good and the staff there are very polite and friendly. They encourage my sister to take part in various activities though as she suffers from dementia this at times can be difficult. Bramley
House is well run and they have redecorated and modernized various parts recently. They have a nice Garden area for residents to relax in. My sisters room is very nice and we have added the odd personnel touch with various photos.
Anna the manageress is extremely helpful. We live some distance from Mere and we tend to arrive at lunchtime and the food the residents have always looks extremely appetizing and as my sister suffers from Coeliac Disease they cater very well for her condition. Its nice to know that she is being cared for well.
Reply from Anna Dunford, Home Manager at Bramley HouseThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind and thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that Hazel has been a resident at Bramley House for around five years and that you continue to feel confident in the care and support she receives. Supporting people living with dementia is central to what we do, and it is reassuring to know that our team's encouragement with activities, patience and understanding are recognised, even when participation can be challenging at times.
It is also lovely to hear your positive comments about the home environment, recent refurbishments, and our garden areas, as well as Hazel's room being made personal and familiar with photos. We are particularly pleased that you feel reassured about Hazel's dietary needs and that our kitchen team consistently caters well for her coeliac disease. Thank you also for your kind words about me personally and the team as a whole. Knowing that families feel supported, especially when living some distance away

My Dad "pop" has been a resident at Bramley house for a while now and the care provided by Anna and everyone there has been absolutely fantastic. There are lots of activities that are varied and cater to all needs and families can be involved as well as being sent lots of pictures and updates.
Catering
is brilliant and a cake was also made when Mum and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with residents and our family and friends.
Thanks to every one at Bramley House xxxx

I would like to do this review for Bramley House because they helped me and my family out in so many ways.
We had an emergency health problem with my father and needed help at very short notice. I phoned Bramley and with their help, my Dad went into their care. He has now been at the home for approximately
6 weeks and he is very happy.
All the carers there are just amazing. I had my first visit yesterday and the welcome I received was like meeting long lost friends. Everyone there were so professional, caring and thoughtful.
I don't think I have ever been in an atmosphere where everyone seemed so happy at doing their "job". What a wonderful team they are.
Reply from Anna Dunford, Home Manager at Bramley HouseThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're truly grateful you took the time to share your experience. It means a great deal to know we could support you and your family during a difficult and unexpected time. We're delighted your father has settled in well and is happy here at Bramley House. Our team works hard to create a warm, family atmosphere where residents feel valued and families feel supported. It's heart warming to hear this has been reflected in your visits and that you've felt welcomed and cared for too. Supporting both our residents and their loved ones is at the heart of what we do, and your lovely words are a true testament to the dedication and compassion of our whole team.

The care and attention to detail in this friendly home is inspiring. They take immense care in getting to know the resident and the family and offer tremendous support to both, with great communication at all times.

The staff are not only, always on hand but are highly skilled in all emergency treatment
should it be needed. I can say this as I had first hand knowledge of an incident where my husband was saved by quick and expert treatment from staff members.

I have had some experience with visiting a variety of Residential Homes and I have no hestitaion in recommending Bramley House as a friendly, caring and very efficiently run home.

We were put at our ease from the moment we arrived by Anna, the manager. With my father in a wheelchair, we were swiftly shown which rooms were available, chose one, and within ten minutes the new arrival was showered, assessed and given tea and cake.
This friendly efficiency had continued unabated
for four days of respite care so far, with every detail tweaked, every niggle resolved. Bramley's energetic, no-trouble determination to "learn" my father, to listen to his needs, to offer him entertainment etc. has been extraordinary, and a great relief to the extended family. Obviously, my father doesn't like the food, but then he hasn't liked food since my mother died years ago.
Thoroughly to be recommended.
Reply from Anna Dunford, Home Manager at Bramley HouseDear Tim, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind and detailed review. It was a genuine pleasure to welcome your father and your family to Bramley House, I am delighted that you felt at ease from the very first moment. As manager, I take great pride in ensuring every aspect of care and support meets the highest standards, from arrival to daily routines, and it's incredibly rewarding to know our efforts have made a positive impact. I'm especially pleased that our team's dedication to getting to know your father, listening to his needs, and offering tailored activities has been noticed. We also aim to support families throughout, helping you feel confident and reassured. Regarding meals, we have met with our chef to develop a menu more suited to his preferences, ensuring food is enjoyable as well as nutritious. It is a privilege to support your father and family, and we will continue to ensure his time at Bramley House is comfortable, engaging, and feels like home.

My mother moved into Bramley House recently and we have been delighted with the high level of care which she has received. We were allowed to decorate her bedroom with pictures and furniture to make it feel like home and the staff and managers have all been very warm in welcoming her. She requires
extra assistance with manoeuvring and dressing and the staff are highly trained in using the appropriate hoists. The food and activities have been great and generally there is a very friendly team spirit amongst the staff and managers. We feel very relieved with her move to Bramley House.

My mother has been there for over 10 years. She has been looked after mostly but she had a bad fall unnecessarily, leaving a bad scar on her face. Recently I visited with my sister, her hair had not been washed and her shoes had holes in their soles. We were not alerted. The carpet in her room, which
is tiny (same price) is completely worn out and rucked so it is a trip hazard. I am not impressed by this home.
Reply from Sarah Wagner, Director at Bramley HouseThank you for your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about your concerns and appreciate the opportunity to respond and provide clarity. Your mother's care and comfort are our highest priorities. Personal care is provided daily, and our records confirm this is consistently upheld. Regarding her shoes, we promptly identified the need for replacement and called your sister on 6 December to advise. The issue was resolved very quickly thereafter. Following your feedback, we have asked our maintenance team to review the carpet in her room to ensure it remains safe. The fall you mentioned occurred six years ago in the garden and, while unfortunate, was an accidental incident that we addressed at the time. Our records indicate that it left no ongoing issues or concerning scars. We greatly value the relationship we have with your family and encourage you to contact us directly to discuss this further. Your input helps us continue to provide the high-quality care we are committed to.

Excellent care home, more like a country hotel. Staff in the majority are long-term. Food is cooked on-site and geared towards more elderly residents. Beautiful gardens, which residents are encouraged to use and help with planting etc. Also, good social activities geared towards events outside the home.
Highly recommend.
