My mum was a resident at Woodheath for almost 18 months. She settled in very quickly. The staff were kind and attentive and looked after her with care, patience and dignity. Where possible, they involved her in the social activities available which happened frequently. She had complex nursing needs
which were addressed with professionalism and we as a family we're kept up to date on her treatment. Woodheath has a small, independent feel to it which we liked as it made the care feel more personal.
Reply from Lianne Carling, Operations Manager at Woodheath Nursing & Residential HomeWe are truly pleased to hear that your mum settled in quickly and she was cared for with Kindness, patience and dignity during her time at Woodheath. Your comments about Woodheath's small, independent feel means a great deal, creating a warm, personal environment is at the heart of what we do. Thank you for your kind words they will be shared with the team.

My Mum is generally very well looked after and the staff seem very fond of her. However when I visited recently she was sat in wet clothes as she had spilled tea. It was obvious as there was a lot on the tray too. When I pointed this out they immediately changed my Mum.
Reply from Lianne Carling, Operations Manager at Woodheath Nursing & Residential HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're really pleased to hear that your mum is generally well looked after and that you find the team to be caring and attentive.

Overall, I am satisfied with the care and services provided to my wife. However, there are some areas that could be better. For example, personal items being misplaced (hearing aids), and clothes being put away with less care. I appreciate I can take care of this, yet each time I tidy up and sort it
out, it often ends up in a mess again.

I am sincerely grateful for the care and services provided to my wife.

Reply from Lianne Carling, Operations Manager at Woodheath Nursing & Residential HomeThank you for your feedback. We are truly pleased to hear that you are satisfied with the care services provided to your wife. Your kind words mean a great deal to our team.
We also appreciate you highlighting the areas we can improve. We are sorry to hear about personal items such as hearing aids, being misplaced and clothing not always being put away with the care and consistency you expect. We understand how frustrating this can be, especially when you take the time to organise things yourself.
Please be assured that we take this feedback seriously. We will share your concerns with the team and reinforce the importance of careful handling and storage of personal belongings. Our aim is to ensure your wife's environment remains comfortable, organised and respectful of personal belongings.
If there is anything further you would like to discuss or if we can help in any other way, please don't hesitate to let us know.

The LOVE, CARE and SUPPORT Ann received throughout her time in Apple House was above and beyond anything I previously experiences. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely home.
It is immaculate, the whole team are so committed and respect the residents dignity, they are professional and
have time for not only the residents but for their families. An important part for any resident in a Care Home is to ensure they have plenty to occupy their minds and Woodheath definitely provides this with the wonderfully organised activities for everyone. When Ann was too ill to sit in the lounge, she was occupied in her room. I cannot thank everyone enough for the wonderful care and compassion and was deeply touched how they instantly loved and cared for her. We sadly lost Ann recently and I was holding it together quite well until we drove past Woodheath on the day of her funeral and saw the lovely carers once again sharing their time and kindness. You really are true Angelsx
Reply from Lianne Carling, Operations Manager at Woodheath Nursing & Residential HomeThank you so much for your beautiful and heartfelt words. Our team will be deeply touched to know that their kindness and commitment brought comfort to Ann and to your family. We strive to ensure every resident feels dignified, valued and engaged, and knowing that this made a difference to Ann is incredibly meaningful. We are so very sorry for your loss, and we send you our heartfelt condolences.

Both my sister and I are more then happy with the care that our mother has received while she has been in Woodheath. The staff are exemplary, she has been treated with dignity and respect. She looks satisfied content and comfortable, she is clean her hair is brushed and tidy. The difference in her since
arriving from hospital is incredible - grey pallor, hair not brushed, she looked lost. New colour in her cheeks, hair tidy she looks relaxed and content. I would have no hesitation in recommending Woodheath for anyone's relatives to stay. All the staff are outstanding, very friendly and have kept us informed about our mums condition. 10 out of 10 for all staff.

As a pharmacist, I had provided medication reviews for Wirral care homes over 20 years ago and Woodheath was my favourite. When the time came for Mum to need extra care I looked at Woodheath and 2 others. Without a doubt this was still the best.
Mum was looked after with kindness and her dignity was
maintained at all times. She chatted to all the staff and I always knew I had made the right choice.
Sadly she passed away recently but that was kind, gentle and peaceful too.
I would not hesitate to recommend this care home and have said this to many people already.

Your words are a touching tribute to our team, and your recommendation means so much to everyone at Woodheath.

We chose Woodheath to care for my Dad in the last few weeks of his life, as our Mum had received wonderful care at Woodheath during the last 3 years of her life.
Dad was terminally ill. The care he received was exemplary. All of the staff were professional, compassionate, kind and most of all treated
Dad with dignity, especially in the last few days of his life. We cannot thank the staff enough for the care that they gave to Dad and also to us as a family.

I wanted to leave a message to anyone looking for dementia care. My mother was not an easy personality and we worried about how she would settle. In the time she resided at Apple House Woodheath she was treated like one of their family, as was anyone who visited her. They took time with her and showed
nothing but patience. It is a fun happy environment with activities to keep the residents engaged and happy. My mother passed away there and in her final days the staff were amazing. Thankfully her final days were as comfortable as could be. As a family we thank all the staff for everything they did.

Mum lived at Woodheath for the last 2 years of her life before she passed away in March 2024. During her time there she was very well looked after and was loved by the staff, just as she loved them. She looked forward to the daily exercise classes as well as various afternoon activities. She especially
loved the trips out. Thank you to all at Woodheath for taking such good care of her and for being friendly and welcoming to us each time we visited.

My wife is just starting her fourth year as a resident of Woodheath's Apple House annex for dementia patients. From the very first, the management and staff have treated her with kindness, understanding and skill. Although she is, inevitably, deteriorating mentally and physically, the wonderful carers
have never given up trying to bring some meaning and pleasure to her life. Only a fortnight ago, for instance, they organised an outing by taxi and wheelchair to the local promenade, for fresh air, sea views and a meal out. That initiative came from the staff, not from me, and was typical of their thoughtfulness. In short, I am full of the utmost praise for this excellent care home.

My auntie has resided at Woodheath for over 4 years now and the care and consideration that has been afforded to her has been excellent. She has been well looked after since she had to give up her home when she could no longer look after herself. The activities offered to the residents are varied and
well-planned with schedules shown in the reception area.

My auntie particularly loves the children and animals coming to visit and the photos that appear on Facebook show her face lighting up with genuine smiles and joy. Woodheath is always clean and tidy when I go and visit and it is a very calm environment to enter. The staff are amazing and I really like the fact that there is always someone there that we know and have known since my auntie went there 4 years ago. Staff seem to like working there and stay which is great for continuity for the residents.

There seems to be a very proactive caring management team at the heart of Woodheath which radiates down through the home.
