My husband has been in their care now for just under a year and I couldn't be more happy with the excellent, compassionate care he has received. All staff are friendly and I see them treating all the residents with dignity and respect. The activities coordinator brings fun to their lives and makes everyone feel welcome and included. Medically my husband receives excellent care too and I leave him there confident that he is safe, well cared for and perhaps even loved....

I find the staff very helpful, and nothing is to much trouble, the care they show my wife is very good. And they look after her well, the care they have given her has far exceeded the outcome the hospital gave. Nothing but praise for the care has shown her.

Staff are pleasant & helpful. Medication supervision is excellent. Prior to being resident, my mother was hopeless at taking medication. Her room is spacious and there is room for personal items to make her feel at home. Best of all, The Knolls is set in a wooded area and provides a garden for residents to walk & sit.

Reply from Sabia Chogley-Patel, Business Administration Manager at The Knolls Care Centre

Review of The Knolls Care Centre from Sarah P (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My father has been at The Knolls for the last six months. Over that time we have come to know the staff who care for dad well. They are all very kind and attentive and importantly like to have a chat and a joke, not just with dad but family members too.
From a medical perspective, the nursing staff are always on top of things and when necessary co-ordinate with the GP to resolve any problems.
The carers and support staff have all been a pleasure to meet and deal with. On arrival there is always a cheery greeting from reception and admin management is carried out efficiently. There are also lots of activities to join in with if the residents wish.
There is a large garden with shaded seating. Unfortunately the garden seems to rely on volunteers for upkeep so I think more could be made of it with additional support. However, it is a lovely addition to the facilities.

Overall, it is the caring staff that makes The Knolls a welcoming residential care home.

Reply from Sabia Chogley-Patel, Business Administration Manager at The Knolls Care Centre

Thank you very much for your kind review and feedback. The gardens have certainly been a work in progress and we are looking at how can make improvements as a team and with the garden service we use. My nan was only at The Knolls for a week as she was on end of life care. But in that short time I can safely say that staff are the best team I have ever had the privilege to meet.
The professionalism, kindness and caring nature from everyone was truly amazing and helped me so much. I felt at ease leaving her each day knowing the level of care she was receiving.

I could not recommend The Knolls enough and thank everyone for helping me at one of the worse times of my life.

Review of The Knolls Care Centre from Daniel W (Son of Resident) published on 8 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The nurses and carers are excellent. Always willing to help, friendly and compassionate. The home is well run and is kept clean and the staff treat my mum well and with respect even though she is now completely debilitated through Parkinson's disease.
An area of improvement would be on the some areas of repair within the home. My mothers room is on the first floor, its decoration is very dated and it is in need of significant renovation.

That said the most important thing is the quality of care she receives and with that the team at the Knolls are brilliant. Thank you

Reply from dawn bishopp, registered manager at The Knolls Care Centre

Thank you for your review. The Home does have a rolling programme for refurbishment and we will look at refreshing and upgrading the room to make it more comfortable and inviting.

My brother and I were really worried about finding a home where our mum would be happy and truly cared for, but we needn't have worried. The Knolls is simply amazing and mum is thriving. It is professionally run and communication is excellent. The staff are so kind to her and treat her with respect and compassion. The staff have really made the effort to get to know mum and always share information with us about her health and wellbeing. When we first visited the Knolls we were immediately struck by how happy the residents were and what a lovely feeling of relaxation and care the home had. Daily visits have shown this to be the case and we can't recommend the home enough. Wonderful staff, wonderful home that is giving mum the care in her final years that she deserves.

Review of The Grange Residential Home from C R (Sister of Resident) published on 30 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My sister was orginally at The Grange for a two week assesment period. All the staff are absoulety amazing, so very caring and compasionde. My sister is now a full time residient which we are so happy they have been able to accomodate her. My sister has a diagnosis of 'young' alzhiemers, and I was extremly anxious about her having to live full time in a home. The staff have gone out of their way to make my sister feel welcome, and due to age they alway make time to talk to her thank you.

Thank you so much for your lovely review and kind words. It means a great deal to hear that our team has made both you and your sister feel supported and cared for. Your feedback will be shared with the team, and we look forward to continuing to provide the best possible care.

Overall Experience
Happy with care my Mother is receiving at The Knolls. She originally came to The Knolls from hospital in November 2025. She was happy at The Knolls and in February 2026 decided she would like to become a permanent resident as she got in well with the carers/staff.

If there is a negative, it would be that more effort/bribery is used to get her to engage more with the activities and get her out of her room.

Reply from Sabia Chogley-Patel, Business Administration Manager at The Knolls Care Centre

Thank you very much for your review and feedback; we do make every effort to involve residents in activities within the home, but also must support their own choices and wishes.

Review of The Grange Residential Home from L G (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
Dad was admitted at The Grange on 9/1/26 due to reoccurring falls and diagnosis of dementia. It was a very difficult time for both myself and dad, and to start with he wasn't happy. But over the last few weeks I've seen a vast improvement in overall health and mood. He seems happy and content, enjoys the day to day activities, and interacts with staff which makes him laugh, sharing the odd joke! which is delightful to see

LG.

I have no complaints about anything at this home. Food isn't always to her liking but think mother's diet or her like of food is should we say limited, but believe they go out of their way to please her. Staff are pleasant have outings pretty regular. Mother won't join in activites happy, to sit in her room. So all good.

My friend was admitted from hospital directly to Millbridge. In a short space of time, I have developed relationships with the staff, all of whom have been kind, responsive and professional. They go the extra mile.

My friend is adjusting to being in a care home but acknowledges that it is the best it can be in the circumstances. There is always a warm welcome, and guests are quickly attended to. The gardens, food and atmosphere all contribute to this lovely home.
