My husband was at Woodleigh manor for 3 months with Alzheimer's. We found the staff to be wonderful and very caring under difficult circumstances. Their patience and dedication never ceased to amaze me.

My mum had been a resident for six months in another home. Sadly they gave notice due to my mums dysregulation and safeguarding issues. As soon as we approached Woodleigh Manor they were kind and supportive at such a difficult time. On arrival my mum was welcomed and made to feel at home. In the space of three months she has put on weight, her medication has been reduced, and after several months has been outside for local walks, and trips to the local community. The pain of losing a loved one to dementia sadly just keeps giving, however now I have an opportunity to have a glimpse of my mum back. The staff know her well, providing her with excellent care, and security for me, that my mum could not be in a better place.

Thank you for your review and kind words, Donna. It means a lot to the team at Woodleigh Manor. We believe feedback is valuable to share with the team to continue to learn and grow, to continue to provide excellent care to the residents at Woodleigh Manor. Many thanks again for your lovely words.

Management run a very understanding, knowledgeable and compassionate home for dealing with complex dementia residents. My dad was placed into respite care in Woodleigh Lodge in June 2025 with Alzheimer's and it was a huge step for the family and for dad. The staff, carers and the lady who organises the activities at Woodleigh Lodge have been exceptional and his needs are met, he is immaculately clean and well cared for. Dad is treated with respect and the staff all understand the individual needs of each of the residents and the bedrooms are very clean and modern. The food is always plentiful and nicely presented, with lots of snacks available.

Having to put my dad into a care home was the hardest thing for me to have to do as an only child and promising my mum I would look after him after we lost her, unfortunately Alzeimer's had other ideas for us! Woodleigh Lodge is the one we chose after doing our research, I am so pleased we did, its one big family the staff are so welcoming as soon as you walk in the atmosphere is really pleasant the food always looks appetising and the constant flow of tea and coffee, the care is second to none. My dad is painfully shy but I often walk in to him doing exercises and his arms in the air this makes me realise we made the right decision for my dad. My personal favourite thing about Woodleigh apart from how they care for dad, is the fact I can turn up when ever I want to, no appointment necessary, I can also take his elderly dog in to see him any time I want to, again, no appointment necessary, my daughter also takes her dog in to see him. Overall, I am very happy we chose Woodleigh Lodge.

Overall Experience
My Dad arrived at Woodleigh Manor in April this year and has settled in here extremely well, this is due to the highest level of care provided by the Care Home Manager her Deputy and her care team. Other team members, who all look after my Dad, who deserve a special mention for their excellent care of Dad to three members of staff. The communication with myself from the Manager and her team has been excellent and they have gone above and beyond to help both my Dad and myself and for that I will be eternally grateful.
My Dad's room has recently been decorated and the rest of the Care Home is bright, nicely presented and well maintained. The activities for the residents are also many and varied and inclusive and help bring enjoy and stimulation to all who participate in them. Dad enjoys the food too which is great as he has discerning taste!

In summary in my opinion I rate this Care Home and its team as 5* in every respect and can not recommend it highly enough

When my father in law first went in to a care home we had a very bad experience.
But after frighting for a year with social services.

We got him moved to Woodleigh Manor.

All I can say is,.. wow just wow. From start to finish. all the staff and the manager was fantastic with my father in law and believe me when I say he was not an easy man. And we as a family was definitely on the fence. Because of our last experience. But they worked magic with him and us. We cannot thank all the staff enough for all they did for my father in law. We as a family would not hesitate to use Woodleigh Manor again. All the staff go above and beyond for everyone in the home and it's not a care home it's a family there .so if you are looking for somewhere to treat your family member with love, care, respect, and be treated how you want them to be treated then look here. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff day or night. Again thank you to the Manager and all the staff for everything.

My mum is currently in Woodleigh manor for respite. The staff and management go above and beyond! I can't fault any of the staff, security, facilities, and care given to my mum. From day one nothing is or has been a problem. We as a family are so happy with how mum is settling into her new home at Woodleigh manor.

It is like one big family whom make everyone feel welcome. The activities that are done with the residents are very good, I love how families are included in the activities eg summer fair, bands attending, VE Day celebrations, trip to the seaside. I honestly can't fault this care home and would highly recommend it to anyone.

My friend has been at Woodleigh Manor for around two years. On my initial visit I was told to "prepare myself" but over the two years I've seen significant improvements. New furniture has been brought in and redecoration and improvements are ongoing to enhance the home. Despite some challenging residents the staff provide exceptional care to both residents and families. The whole team is truly amazing! The management team are always there or at the end of a phone should you need them. My friend is very happy in her new home and she is happy in her world, for which her family and I couldn't ask for more. Thank you Team Woodleigh x

My mother, who passed away in August 2024 was looked after with the utmost care. The staff loved her and looked after her and treated as they would a beloved mother or grandmother. They were kindness itself to the family and offered sympathy and support on her passing, attending the funeral and shedding tears along with the rest of us. During her stay, she was treated with kindness and respect and I was able to rest assured of her care, day and night, which was so comforting.

We had a struggle finding a home for our dad with his dementia but Woodleigh welcomed him with open arms. We were told on our first visit they were "rough and ready" but you will never meet a better group of people. The care, love and support the management and staff gave to him and the other residents was amazing, he settled down and Woodleigh became his second home. Sadly Dad passed away in December but we will be forever grateful to the manager and all the fantastic staff for making his final year so happy and making his family so welcome. Thank you all.

My dad was a resident at Woodleigh Manor and he sadly passed away in December 2024. The care he received whilst living at Woodleigh was amazing. It became a second home to him. The manager and all the staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. So very caring, not just to Dad but all the family/visitors. Dad was previously a very fussy eater but whilst at Woodleigh he ate everything so thank you to the cooks. He particularly enjoyed the homemade cakes. The whole family will be forever grateful for the love and care they gave Dad. He was very happy living at Woodleigh and we could not have asked for anything better.

All the staff have been friendly and helpful at a stressful time for me and took care of my wife with kindness and made her stay in there really happy, as happy as she could possibly be with her condition. My wife had testing problems and was dealt with the utmost respect.

Wow, just wow... a fabulous care home with amazing staff. Give my dad the best care ever! All Dad's personal care's given to a high standard. I also work in care so I'm aware of standards. These guys work really hard as a team and individually. All questions answered no matter what. Management always available when needed. My dad has come back to his natural weight also with the lovely meals he gets. Dad's room is also nice and clean and tidy. Nothing is too much. Always a lovely cup of tea when needed. I would just like to say a big thank you. Amazing care home. And I can sleep at night knowing my dad gets 100% care.

My mum has been in the home for the last 6 years. Myself and my siblings have seen the care home improve over the 18 months. The home has been decorated, and new furniture added, which makes it feel more homely and modernised. The management and all staff, are very caring and supportive of mum's needs. When we visit, they are all friendly and approachable towards us. Meaningful activities have been greatly improved for residents' daily stimulation. It is really nice to see them playing games, and making things together. We are happy and content with Mum living in Woodleigh for the near future.

My dad has surprised me by how well he has settled here and it's all thanks to the staff going above and beyond. His care is totally tailored to my dad's needs and mood. They have learned how to get the best out my dad and how to lift his mood when he is exceptionally grumpy. The activity coordinator is exceptional with everyone. All the staff are excellent and I can relax at home knowing how well my dad is getting cared for.

My dad's been at Woodleigh Manor since May 2024, the staff and management are so caring towards him. They know how to interact with him as with dementia he can be quite stubborn. For the first time in years he's actually started putting weight on so we know he's getting well looked after. I could not praise the staff and management enough for the care my dad is receiving.

Mum has been here since March 24. She can be very challenging at times due to her dementia but the staff are patient and kind to her always. They treat her with respect and know it's not her true personality.
They have made a difficult and emotional journey an easier one and helped us as a family navigate through this cruel disease.

If you visit, please look past the decor (although this is going through a period of redecoration), a care home is so much more than aesthetics, it is about what the staff does with the residents. Mum has never fallen or suffered any additional ill health since being there which is a high risk for her normally considering all her health needs so this reflects so positively on the staff.
