Hames Hall

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum has been living in Hames hall now for almost 6 months. The care she receives there is excellent.
The staff are friendly, kind and very supportive in all ways.
She recently celebrated her 94th birthday and the staff provided a wonderful afternoon tea for her and family, nothing is too much
trouble.
I feel I have been consulted and kept up to date with any changes in her daily care and needs.
Company and activities have given mum a new lease of life.
Nothing but praise for Hames hall

I would 100% recommend Hames Hall to anyone looking for an exceptionally well run care home. The staff are kind, caring, professional and always welcoming. There is a wide variety of activities on offer, something to suit all tastes, plus weekly visits from a hairdresser, which Mum particularly appreciates.
Hames Hall itself is an impressive property, with a lovely lounge, dining room, conservatory and gardens which enjoy superb views of the Lake District Fells. But it is the standard of care which stands out and I feel so reassured knowing that Mum is being so well looked after.

My relative was initially reluctant to go into a care home, but after living at Hames Hall for a few months, she has really settled in and is enjoying the activities and the companionship very much.
The staff are all so friendly and caring, and the chef is always careful to accommodate her particular
dietary needs. The level of care is amazing.
Reply from Angela Dawson, Registered Manager at Hames HallThank you so much for your kind words about your mother-in-laws experience at our home. It is a privilege to care for her and we are really happy that she is enjoying herself.

Mum, or as everyone knows her, (Goo), is extremely well cared for. The management and staff are very welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble; they are always helpful and polite.
It was Goo's 100th birthday yesterday, 16th Dec, we had a wonderful family get together in the conservatory, which had
been decorated by staff.
Goo could not be in a nicer, more friendly home, and we, the family, really appreciate the way she is looked after. Thank you. xx

Since arriving in Jan 2025, I was made welcome and looked after very well by both staff and management.
I've been on a few enjoyable outings.
The building and grounds are pleasing and well maintained.
Communications between staff and residents could be improved with activities being cancelled without
prior notice.
Food portions could be better with requests for smaller ones.
On the whole, very happy to be in Hames Hall.

Mum has lived at Hames Hall for 3 years . I initially chose this home as it was very close to my own so it meant me and my children could visit easily and when we had gone to see it the staff were very welcoming . I couldn't be more pleased with the care and respect my mum receives . The staff at the
home are warm and welcoming and always know what's happening with my mum . My mums dementia has advanced since moving into the home so she isn't always present but I can tell from the interactions with her carers that she feels safe and cared for. I would 100% recommend this home and every member of staff that I've met

Staff are invariably pleasant, personable and helpful. I feel that Dad is well cared for and settled. It is an old building which has been adapted with all the constraints that brings.

I moved my auntie to Hames Hall from another care home & so glad we did. It's an exceptional care home, with daily activities to keep her busy. They have taken her out & about on days out.
Staff are all lovely & this includes the manager. My auntie is extremely happy here.
Beautiful conservatory &
garden, she quite happily sits in with her book.
Perfect retirement home.

Hames Hall is a lovely home for my friend, who is a resident there. The staff are always kind and helpful, and prepared to go the extra mile. My friend was recently 90 years old, and the staff prepared a lovely afternoon tea for us and a few friends, they also took photos. The manager is always kind
and helpful, and makes time to listen. The building is well maintained, and the gardens are beautiful.

I came into Hames Hall on respite on August 2023. During my time I soon realised this was where I could live and be very happy. 2025 my opinion of Hames Hall has never changed, the staff are so committed and caring not just to myself but all residents. They have an amazing care team but this would not
happen unless they had a good manager. The manager is so considerate everything runs like clockwork, also taking into consideration family members.

This place exudes kindness. The staff can't do enough for you. They are always on the look out to make sure that we (both myself and my relative) are OK. Nothing seems too much trouble. They are patient and gentle, worth their weight in gold. The manager is excellent. The home itself is warm and comfortable,
having lovely views. Of course, it is an old building and not purpose-built, so one must expect drawbacks to this. The lounge dining room and conservatory are lovely. My relative's bedroom is just a little too small, that's my only criticism.

My mother moved to Chichester Hall from another home 10 months ago, but Chichester for my mother was a home from home. The staff are amazing, the care and attention she has from them all was amazing. Special mention to two members of staff in particular are truly wonderful and caring. If you are seeking
a care home for a loved one, Chichester will be a good choice. Home from home.

From the moment mam went into Hames Hall 6 months ago, the manager, assistant manager and staff have all been most welcoming. I have found that they cannot do enough for mam and the other residents. They are hard working, caring and nothing is too much trouble. Mam is very happy to be there and I am
happy with the care and support she receives. There is a good choice of lovely tasty meals and they do different activities and celebrate birthdays with the residents. The Hall gets decorated for different events, Halloween, Christmas etc. Home from home. I would not hesitate to recommend Hames Hall to anyone looking for care for their loved ones.
