The entertainment is good as is the food.

Visitors are welcome anytime.

The residents are also caring of one another.

Hames is very well managed, reflected in the long term staff.

The only improvement for me would be a proper hairdressers backwash.

I cannot recommend Hames Hall highly enough.

Our mother initially came to Hames Hall for respite care. However, she settled in so well and loved it so much that she decided she wanted to stay permanently.

Sadly, she recently passed away, but we can honestly say that the staff and residents at Hames Hall became her second family. They made her final years so happy, comfortable, and full of care.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Hames Hall to anyone considering care for a loved one.

My mum has been in Hames Hall for nearly 5 years. We chose Hames Hall after looking at other care homes in the area. It was definitely the right choice. My mum is very happy and well looked after here. The staff are all dedicated and very kind. She particularly enjoys the entertainment as she is a very sociable person. At the dining table there is always a discussion as to what entertainment there will be that day. Mum and her friends all look forward to it.

I would 100% recommend Hames Hall to anyone looking for an exceptionally well run care home. The staff are kind, caring, professional and always welcoming. There is a wide variety of activities on offer, something to suit all tastes, plus weekly visits from a hairdresser, which Mum particularly appreciates. Hames Hall itself is an impressive property, with a lovely lounge, dining room, conservatory and gardens which enjoy superb views of the Lake District Fells. But it is the standard of care which stands out and I feel so reassured knowing that Mum is being so well looked after.

The staff are all so friendly and caring, and the chef is always careful to accommodate her particular dietary needs. The level of care is amazing.

I came to Hames Hall for respite and enjoyed it so much I decided to stay. The staff care for us well, and there is everything here that you need. I am very happy in here.

Goo could not be in a nicer, more friendly home, and we, the family, really appreciate the way she is looked after. Thank you. xx

Mum has lived at Hames Hall for 3 years . I initially chose this home as it was very close to my own so it meant me and my children could visit easily and when we had gone to see it the staff were very welcoming . I couldn't be more pleased with the care and respect my mum receives . The staff at the home are warm and welcoming and always know what's happening with my mum . My mums dementia has advanced since moving into the home so she isn't always present but I can tell from the interactions with her carers that she feels safe and cared for. I would 100% recommend this home and every member of staff that I've met

I have no hesitation in recommending the excellent care given by all staff at Hames Hall. Staff provide a competent, friendly, professional service at all times. The home provides regular and various forms of entertainment for the residents, to which visitors all always made welcome.

Staff are invariably pleasant, personable and helpful. I feel that Dad is well cared for and settled. It is an old building which has been adapted with all the constraints that brings.

Hames Hall is a lovely home for my friend, who is a resident there. The staff are always kind and helpful, and prepared to go the extra mile. My friend was recently 90 years old, and the staff prepared a lovely afternoon tea for us and a few friends, they also took photos. The manager is always kind and helpful, and makes time to listen. The building is well maintained, and the gardens are beautiful.

I came into Hames Hall on respite on August 2023. During my time I soon realised this was where I could live and be very happy. 2025 my opinion of Hames Hall has never changed, the staff are so committed and caring not just to myself but all residents. They have an amazing care team but this would not happen unless they had a good manager. The manager is so considerate everything runs like clockwork, also taking into consideration family members.

This place exudes kindness. The staff can't do enough for you. They are always on the look out to make sure that we (both myself and my relative) are OK. Nothing seems too much trouble. They are patient and gentle, worth their weight in gold. The manager is excellent. The home itself is warm and comfortable, having lovely views. Of course, it is an old building and not purpose-built, so one must expect drawbacks to this. The lounge dining room and conservatory are lovely. My relative's bedroom is just a little too small, that's my only criticism.

From the moment mam went into Hames Hall 6 months ago, the manager, assistant manager and staff have all been most welcoming. I have found that they cannot do enough for mam and the other residents. They are hard working, caring and nothing is too much trouble. Mam is very happy to be there and I am happy with the care and support she receives. There is a good choice of lovely tasty meals and they do different activities and celebrate birthdays with the residents. The Hall gets decorated for different events, Halloween, Christmas etc. Home from home. I would not hesitate to recommend Hames Hall to anyone looking for care for their loved ones.

I have seen a very positive change in my aunt since moving to Hames Hall, she appears happy and very well cared for, she also says she is happy there.

Whilst looking for a care home for my mother in law, we had several excellent recommendations of Hames Hall. We were very fortunate to secure a place for her there and over the past 8 months we have found the standard of care far above expectations. I visit almost daily and always find the management and staff very approachable, friendly and welcoming. It is a pleasure to visit and see my mother in law so happy, settled and contented. She is 99 years old in a few weeks and all her needs are catered for including a visiting hairdresser who does her hair each week. On my regular visits, I also witness the kindness and care given to other residents. The food is excellent, catering for everyone's individual needs. So much effort above and beyond with various entertainment and events are celebrated throughout the year and the home is decorated accordingly for each event. So much effort is put into every day life by the management and staff. I would definitely recommend Hames Hall to anyone looking for a high standard of care for their loved ones.

From the moment my father-in-law entered Hames Hall he was impressed not only with the facilities and activities on offer but most of all with the care staff and managers, who were all very friendly, compassionate, caring and knowledgeable. We as a family are extremely happy with the care he has received during his stay and are very grateful for everyone at Hames making his stay a pleasant one.
