Delaheys Nursing Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
After a hospital stay, my father was allocated a place at Delaheys Nursing Home, and I honestly didn't know what to expect. From the moment he arrived, we were over the moon with the level of care he received. Even though he was bed bound, so many staff members took the time to pop into his room, chat
with him, and brighten his day.

He received end-of-life care here, and it was handled with complete professionalism and dignity. The view over the Golf Course was a lovely bonus, giving him something beautiful to look at each day. I was kept fully informed about his care throughout, and visiting was always a comfort-there was always a nurse on duty who knew everything about his needs and was happy to answer any questions or concerns.

All his friends who visited in his final days were equally impressed by the attention and care he received. I couldn't have asked for a better place for him in his final chapter.

Mum, or as everyone knows her, (Goo), is extremely well cared for. The management and staff are very welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble; they are always helpful and polite.
It was Goo's 100th birthday yesterday, 16th Dec, we had a wonderful family get together in the conservatory, which had
been decorated by staff.
Goo could not be in a nicer, more friendly home, and we, the family, really appreciate the way she is looked after. Thank you. xx

Since arriving in Jan 2025, I was made welcome and looked after very well by both staff and management.
I've been on a few enjoyable outings.
The building and grounds are pleasing and well maintained.
Communications between staff and residents could be improved with activities being cancelled without
prior notice.
Food portions could be better with requests for smaller ones.
On the whole, very happy to be in Hames Hall.

Mum has lived at Hames Hall for 3 years . I initially chose this home as it was very close to my own so it meant me and my children could visit easily and when we had gone to see it the staff were very welcoming . I couldn't be more pleased with the care and respect my mum receives . The staff at the
home are warm and welcoming and always know what's happening with my mum . My mums dementia has advanced since moving into the home so she isn't always present but I can tell from the interactions with her carers that she feels safe and cared for. I would 100% recommend this home and every member of staff that I've met

My mum had been a resident for six months in another home. Sadly they gave notice due to my mums dysregulation and safeguarding issues. As soon as we approached Woodleigh Manor they were kind and supportive at such a difficult time. On arrival my mum was welcomed and made to feel at home. In the space
of three months she has put on weight, her medication has been reduced, and after several months has been outside for local walks, and trips to the local community. The pain of losing a loved one to dementia sadly just keeps giving, however now I have an opportunity to have a glimpse of my mum back. The staff know her well, providing her with excellent care, and security for me, that my mum could not be in a better place.

My parents both moved to Marple Lodge in 2024 and I have been pleased with the care they have received since. My dad passed away this month and the wonderful team at Marple Lodge were simply amazing with myself, the family, but especially my mum who continues to live there. They really have gone the
extra mile this month. An awful situation made easier by the whole team's genuinely caring nature. I cannot thank them enough.

Management run a very understanding, knowledgeable and compassionate home for dealing with complex dementia residents. My dad was placed into respite care in Woodleigh Lodge in June 2025 with Alzheimer's and it was a huge step for the family and for dad. The staff, carers and the lady who organises
the activities at Woodleigh Lodge have been exceptional and his needs are met, he is immaculately clean and well cared for. Dad is treated with respect and the staff all understand the individual needs of each of the residents and the bedrooms are very clean and modern. The food is always plentiful and nicely presented, with lots of snacks available.

Having to put my dad into a care home was the hardest thing for me to have to do as an only child and promising my mum I would look after him after we lost her, unfortunately Alzeimer's had other ideas for us! Woodleigh Lodge is the one we chose after doing our research, I am so pleased we did, its
one big family the staff are so welcoming as soon as you walk in the atmosphere is really pleasant the food always looks appetising and the constant flow of tea and coffee, the care is second to none. My dad is painfully shy but I often walk in to him doing exercises and his arms in the air this makes me realise we made the right decision for my dad. My personal favourite thing about Woodleigh apart from how they care for dad, is the fact I can turn up when ever I want to, no appointment necessary, I can also take his elderly dog in to see him any time I want to, again, no appointment necessary, my daughter also takes her dog in to see him. Overall, I am very happy we chose Woodleigh Lodge.
