Grove Lodge

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has been a resident at Grove Lodge for approximately 12 years.
Under previous ownership/management over the years there have been some minor issues but I have to say certainly since Dawn has been the manager I have been extremely satisfied with the care my mother has received.
All the staff
are very attentive and caring and in particular Jenny who has to be my mum's favorite. Jenny has been at the home all the time my mum has been resident and she is like a granddaughter to her.
I would not hesitate in recommending Grove Lodge as a care home and I would like to thank all the staff for their continued care and help towards my mum.
Reply from Dawn Cocker, Manager at Grove LodgeThankyou so much for your wonderful review. It's so lovely for us to know that you feel she is in safe hands, and is cared for with love and compassion. It means the world to the team to hear about good reviews, and to me, to know that you feel safe in the knowledge that she is loved and cared for by us, especially as you live overseas. We are always just a phone call away, should you require anything or have any concerns. Thankyou again, I will pass on your lovely review to the team.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum has been living in Hames hall now for almost 6 months. The care she receives there is excellent.
The staff are friendly, kind and very supportive in all ways.
She recently celebrated her 94th birthday and the staff provided a wonderful afternoon tea for her and family, nothing is too much
trouble.
I feel I have been consulted and kept up to date with any changes in her daily care and needs.
Company and activities have given mum a new lease of life.
Nothing but praise for Hames hall

I would 100% recommend Hames Hall to anyone looking for an exceptionally well run care home. The staff are kind, caring, professional and always welcoming. There is a wide variety of activities on offer, something to suit all tastes, plus weekly visits from a hairdresser, which Mum particularly appreciates.
Hames Hall itself is an impressive property, with a lovely lounge, dining room, conservatory and gardens which enjoy superb views of the Lake District Fells. But it is the standard of care which stands out and I feel so reassured knowing that Mum is being so well looked after.

My relative was initially reluctant to go into a care home, but after living at Hames Hall for a few months, she has really settled in and is enjoying the activities and the companionship very much.
The staff are all so friendly and caring, and the chef is always careful to accommodate her particular
dietary needs. The level of care is amazing.

My brother was moved to Valley View from another care home. The difference in him is hugh... before he was sleeping all the time. His head was lowered - never had his glass's on. Drinks available but never any cups to pour it in. Since coming to Valley View his head is up - he has his glasses on - he
engage's with his visitors - sits at the table to eat his meals. His wife was feeding him at the other home. The staff are lovely and helpful - very welcoming. What a positive move!

My mother started in two different hospitals before being transferred to Delaheys. I arrived first to greet her, but was met with an unexpected wonderful welcome and cup of tea. This reflected the staff in general. They cared for me as well as my mum. A lovely home and I would have been happy to have
her stay forever but wanted Mum (and sister) moved closer to me. Shout out to Freddy - always had time to talk to me. Disappointed with bedroom - shared but they knew the stay was very short.

My Mum moved into Lindisfarne two months ago. I am very impressed by the care provided.
The atmosphere is calm, even when some residents are disruptive.
Everyone looks very well cared for, with tidy hair and in nice clothes. All the clothes match. I never see anyone with food down the front of their
clothes.
The staff are kind, patient and very accommodating.
My Mum has her clothes washed regularly and none of her clothes have been spoilt nor have they gone missing.
The activities provided are varied and frequent. There is the opportunity for residents to have one to one activities, including going out for coffee, shopping etc.

After a hospital stay, my father was allocated a place at Delaheys Nursing Home, and I honestly didn't know what to expect. From the moment he arrived, we were over the moon with the level of care he received. Even though he was bed bound, so many staff members took the time to pop into his room, chat
with him, and brighten his day.

He received end-of-life care here, and it was handled with complete professionalism and dignity. The view over the Golf Course was a lovely bonus, giving him something beautiful to look at each day. I was kept fully informed about his care throughout, and visiting was always a comfort-there was always a nurse on duty who knew everything about his needs and was happy to answer any questions or concerns.

All his friends who visited in his final days were equally impressed by the attention and care he received. I couldn't have asked for a better place for him in his final chapter.
