My mother started in two different hospitals before being transferred to Delaheys. I arrived first to greet her, but was met with an unexpected wonderful welcome and cup of tea. This reflected the staff in general. They cared for me as well as my mum. A lovely home and I would have been happy to have her stay forever but wanted Mum (and sister) moved closer to me. Shout out to Freddy - always had time to talk to me. Disappointed with bedroom - shared but they knew the stay was very short.
Thankyou very much for your lovely review, it is very much appreciated and a pleasure to care for your Mum.
We viewed a number of nursing homes in the area and found Delaheys to be the best by far. Friendly and caring staff, nothing was too much trouble. My mother in law was made to feel comfortable and cared for. The home is well maintained and the food choices were excellent, catering for all my mother in laws requirements. Highly recommend.
Thankyou for your Kind words and for allowing us the pleasure of caring for your mother-in-law
After a hospital stay, my father was allocated a place at Delaheys Nursing Home, and I honestly didn't know what to expect. From the moment he arrived, we were over the moon with the level of care he received. Even though he was bed bound, so many staff members took the time to pop into his room, chat with him, and brighten his day.
He received end-of-life care here, and it was handled with complete professionalism and dignity. The view over the Golf Course was a lovely bonus, giving him something beautiful to look at each day. I was kept fully informed about his care throughout, and visiting was always a comfort-there was always a nurse on duty who knew everything about his needs and was happy to answer any questions or concerns.
All his friends who visited in his final days were equally impressed by the attention and care he received. I couldn't have asked for a better place for him in his final chapter.
Thankyou for taking the time to leave us a review. It was a pleasure for us to be involved in your Dads Care.
Very helpful and caring staff, nothing is too much trouble. Birthdays celebrated with homemade birthday cake. Very good accommodation. You are contacted and kept up to date if any problems arise.
Thank you so much for your kind words, they are really appreciated. We pride ourselves on our care so it's always nice to hear when we have got it right and made a difference.
I cannot say enough good things about Delahey Care Home. My dad resided here for 6 months before he passed away and he was so well cared for. Every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure he was well looked after, comfortable, safe, clean and as happy as he could be. Delaheys staff became like a family to us, offering great support in every way they could. I heard so many bad things about care homes and was so sceptical initially but I knew almost instantly on arriving at Delaheys that it was right for our dad and our situation. I will forever hold a space in my heart for the genuine, good people who cared for our dad and I will never forget the kindness they showed to him, myself and my family in his final months. Thank you Delaheys! 5* without a doubt.
Very welcoming staff lovely clean tidy brilliant you can have a laugh with the staff you feel so at home and we love coming my grandma is always well dressed and clean and tidy it's just a brilliant place.
We really appreciate your kind words and are glad that you feel at home when you visit as this is what we try and achieve.
The staff are excellent nothing is too much for them. The care is also excellent with so much support. I would recommend it with so much admiration. Everything is perfect.
Most of the staff are welcoming and polite, and after two years most know my name. The home is always clean and tidy and requests are usually followed up. I believe the food to be good and choices are available. Birthday cake second year running is most appreciated. Would like to see more permanent staff. Mum seems to be content.
A caring and homely environment with good food. The needs of the residents are well catered for and they are encouraged to use their abilities to the full no matter what their medical needs are. A home I am happy for my mother to live her final days.
Staff seem caring and competent.
One thing that could improve is the variety of food on the menu - lots of mince in various forms. The home has recently been taken over and they are making improvements bit by bit.
Decor needs updating as well as heating etc.
Thank you for your kind words regarding the care that your parents have received, quality care is paramount for us. We are updating the menu soon to introduce our spring menu and welcome any suggestions that your parents would like to see on the menu.
I was brought from hospital after two nights following 3 days over a couple of days, arriving three days before I was booked in for three weeks respite recommended by my doctor. The virus arrived very soon after my arrival and so I am staying until the situation is safe. Well looked after and cared for and safe in this excellent care home.
High standards of hygiene, personal care and nursing care. Well maintained environment. Can't recommend the Delaheys Nursing Care Home highly enough.
The focus is on providing a comfortable environment, a home from home, with recognition that some residents may be there for respite care or recovery, rather than long term care, while acknowledging a visit may develop into something more permanent.
Staff found time to help concerned relatives and answer questions relating to a resident, while respecting the rights of the resident to privacy and confidentiality. The only things my relative would have really changed was the time of the first hot drink of the day, and the ease, or otherwise, of getting a daily shower.
I can't imagine that we could have found a better place for my father.
I was agreeably surprised at the home-like look and the cheerfulness of the staff. My relative has improved enormously since her arrival here earlier this year, all due to the patience and diligence and encouragement that she had from the dedicated staff. My relative was very, very ill and the transformation has surprised and delighted the family. This is all due to the care she has received in this care home, of course, I would recommend it to others.
Delaheys wonderful staff have nursed, nourished, cared for and stimulated my aunt so that now she is orientated, enthusiastic, healthy and even walking a few steps.
You could not wish for a better place to end your days, the care was excellent.
The care, compassion and kindness shown by the matron and all her staff were exceptional. I would highly recommend this home.
My main concern is there little/no activity stimulus for those residents able to get involved. Encouragement to take part in any sort of group activity is very scarce and this would really help some of the residents, rather than just sitting in a chair all day otherwise the home is of an excellent standard.
I highly recommend the Delaheys Nursing Care Home.
Very caring staff, very high-quality care in a lovely family atmosphere.
An excellently appointed property, excellent food, excellent care and very clean.
