As a family, we are very happy with the care and attention mum receives. She loves most of the staff, and they are very good with her, especially with mum, as she gets very agitated, and they always reassure her she is okay. We also like the fact that they feed her what she likes.

My parents both moved to Marple Lodge in 2024 and I have been pleased with the care they have received since. My dad passed away this month and the wonderful team at Marple Lodge were simply amazing with myself, the family, but especially my mum who continues to live there. They really have gone the
extra mile this month. An awful situation made easier by the whole team's genuinely caring nature. I cannot thank them enough.
Reply from James Bamford, Registered Manager at Marple LodgeThank you for your feed back and a review, we strive to provide the best for those we are caring for and all feedback. The team have been amazing and looking after dad and continue to look after mum is a pleasure

We are very impressed with Grove Lodge. The care of its staff shines brightly with good ideas to entertain their guests on and off site. My brother has been at the Lodge for many years, through the pandemic when the staff's dedication to looking after their guests did not falter. We feel that my brother
is very well cared for and looked after with affection. Contact with the home is easy and understanding.
Reply from Dawn Cocker, Manager at Grove LodgeThankyou very much for your lovely review. We are all very fond of him and it will make the team very happy to see that, that shows. I will pass on your kind review to the team.

Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Personally I think some of the residents could be walked about a bit more. Everyone is treated with upmost respect. Most questions asked are answered with honesty and are private. All visitors are offered food and drinks which is ideal for people travelling
a considerable distance to visit family.

My brother has been resident here for many years and throughout this time staff have been consistently caring, responsive and professional in their approach. They deal quickly with any medical concerns .They demonstrate real affection for my brother. I have profound confidence in their abilities .

The

home has been refurbished and this helps to maintain a cheerful atmosphere both inside and in the garden.

I would be happy to see more emphasis on activities for the residents, with entertainment coming into the Home from specialist providers and from communal activities involving residents in a practical way. I have recently raised this issue with the Manager and am hopeful of progress in this regard.

Reply from Dawn Cocker, Manager at Grove LodgeHi, thankyou very much for your wonderful review. He is lovely gentleman and we are all very fond of him as you know and it is good to know you have such confidence in us and I will pass this on to our staff. I have taken on board the things you mentioned in our call and will give you updates on the things we discussed regarding activites etc. Thankyou again Dawn

Grove lodge is an amazing care facility .
My father has been a resident for several years.
The current staff are caring , polite and sincere in everything they do .
I recently reported a concern for one member of staff and this was dealt with very quickly and the staff member no longer works at Grove
Lodge .
My father has Vascular dementia and I am regularly updated regarding any concerns from the staff regarding the ongoing situation with his condition .
I have full support and confidence in all the staff and since one staff member in particular has taken over as manager the place has really improved.
Reply from Dawn Cocker, Manager at Grove LodgeWhat a wonderful review! Thankyou so much. Your dad is another absolute pleasure to work with. I will pass on your lovely words to the staff. Thankyou again

What an amazing place, the manager and all the staff there are wonderful and treated my husband with respect , changed his food if he didn't like it, talked to him to help his mental health. It's more like a family run hotel than a care home, if your lucky enough to find a bed there you will be happy,
for respite this was what the doctor ordered for us both. Amazing place!!

My lovely Dad had a stroke 6 months ago and made the very difficult decision to go into care. It was an extremely worrying time as we have never had any involvement with 24-hour care. He has recently moved into Marple Lodge care home, and I can honestly say it was probably the best decision my Dad made.
He has settled in so well, but this is down to the staff in the home. They are all so lovely and kind, they included him as soon as he got there. He was allowed to take his own recliner chair which is in a lovely, light room. The social activities run in here too so there is plenty of activity to keep Dad occupied. They ensure he goes into the dining room at meal times, and although he doesn’t walk anymore or have any use of his left arm, this is never too much trouble and they ensure he is never left out. The manager has been so helpful, from the minute she assessed Dad, she has gone above and beyond to make us all feel so reassured and at home. This move for Dad was meant to be.

Mum spent 18 months at Marple Lodge following a stroke at home until she passed away in January 2024. In all that time, she was cared for in an exemplary way with kindness, dignity and professionalism. Every member of staff showed a true caring nature from the cleaners to the catering staff as well
as the caring staff. The manager leads from the front and shows true empathy with all residents which is passed down throughout the whole team. Nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is very clean, the meals are tailor-made if required. Visiting is available at any time. Not only was my mum very well cared for but l was also always made to feel welcome. There are regular family meetings to keep everyone in the loop and to air any suggestions. An activities coordinator keeps things fresh and interesting and outside visits are enjoyed. This is a care home in the true sense of the word and l wholeheartedly recommend it.
