From the moment I spoke to Sandra, the Manager, on the phone I knew that my father would be cared for in the most amazing way. Sandra is the most incredibly welcoming, kind and caring Manager. I live far away and my father needed respite care after a spell in hospital following a fall. The relief to find such a gem was overwhelming and Sandra and her whole team were so welcoming and so very kind and thoughtful. My father and I can't thank Sandra and her team enough for all that they did for him and I couldn't have been welcomed more on my regular visits. My father and I highly recommend Sandra and her team and would like to say a huge thank you to them all. They are absolutely wonderful and their care is outstanding. It's the type of care that you hope with everything to find for your loved ones.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff at this home. My husband suffers from a number of mental health challenges and it was very hard to relinquish his care to others. He is better cared for at The Lodge than I could manage at home. I actually heard him chuckle recently for the first time in ages. The compassion, skill and understanding received from the manager and staff is beyond price. Thank you from his family.

My mum was placed at Lodge around September 2025 for rest bite but she needed 24hr care. The Lodge provides a safe loving environment for there residents, all are well looked after & treated with respect & like one big family. When ever we visit always made to feel welcome. We get updates with all there activities throughout the week & pictures, which is lovely to see. Mum is always happy.

My Grandad has only recently moved to The Lodge having previously refused to want to move out of his own house. The atmosphere is so nice there, and all the staff are really welcoming and friendly that he actually said he hasn't been this happy in years. Thank you to all at The Lodge.

My mother has been living at Manor Rest Home for a few months now and I am full of praise for Sandra and the team.

Mum has complex physical and emotional needs related to mobility issues and mixed dementia. The carers take great care to provide a safe, clean, fun, and stimulating environment.

I have been able to contribute to her care plan, and receive regular updates and photos of the many activities in which mum is participating. Some of these activities, such as arts and crafts, mum is doing for the first time in years.

She has put on weight and tells us when we visit how lovely everybody is, "they're my friends" she says.

The Lodge is a kind and compassionate place. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Relatives are always greeted warmly. Residents are treated with compassion and thei needs are thoughfully catered for.

My Grandad has Advanced Alzheimer's and has been at Manor Rest Home for about 6 years. He is very well looked after, and has settled in well. We wouldn't move him now. The staff are very welcome and all very friendly, when visiting they cannot do enough for us and you can see the care they have for their other residents. They do great activities daily, including parties for family members to join. We get regular updates on our grandad through a social media group. We couldn't recommend them enough and are very grateful for the love and care our Grandad has received over the last years.

Such a delightful warm and caring environment, I totally recommend the friendly, happy, cosy, and kind atmosphere at The Lodge. Exactly a year ago, my Mother and Father were really struggling, and we looked at 20+ places for them, and chose The Lodge, due to its welcoming and homely atmosphere. This has proved a great choice, and it really feels just like being at home.

The Lodge helped us, and our mother, to deal with the heartbreaking loss of our Father a couple of months later, and what feels like an extended family of carers and indeed other residents at The Lodge make every day there special, safe, and friendly. If you are thinking of a spot for respite, or for longer term care, I really recommend this place, and these people.

The team at the Lodge has recently won a string of awards, which are are richly deserved. The home maintains a group messaging chat, which gives updates every day of the interesting and varied activities, and keeps everyone updated; really lovely!

My husband has been resident at The Lodge for the past year. I can't thank them enough for providing excellent care. Also providing warmth and compassion to us all. Its a lovely friendly home were management and staff make you feel welcome.

Even though my lovely dad only spent a short time at the home, he made a big impression on the staff. All the staff, without exception, were 100% committed to making my dad's stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They also comforted family members when the strain got too much to bear. When Dad finally died, the compassion shown by all the staff was welcome. Two members of staff attended Dad's funeral. I cannot recommend Manor enough for everything they do. Thank you.

The photos are amazing and I can just see the happiness on my Dads face. They are active in finding everything each individuals true likes and loves are/where and bring as much of that with their personalised interaction as possible. Thank you so much for all the hard work and effort that you put into caring for my father and everyone's else's beloved family member.

Mum is cared for extremely well on a daily basis. All staff are caring, friendly and helpful. Any concerns are dealt with in a compassionate manner and more importantly Mum is treated with dignity. She recently was moved from her previous room which she loves and is so much happier. Thank you to you all.

Placing dad in the excellent care of The Lodge has brought peace of mind to our family, knowing he is safe, appreciated and well cared for.

It's a little tricky for me to write a comprehensive review as I don't visit Manor Rest Home very often and my brother isn't particularly communicative so it's difficult to say unless I was there for a significant time period. What I would say is that since the relatively recent management change, the communication has improved by the use of WhatsApp and text message and I welcome that. Also the activities which have been introduced are varied, relevant and accessible to all. I don't know if they were already in place but if they were, they weren't publicised as well as currently. I've always found the staff very pleasant when I've visited. The building itself is dated in places but I can already see improvements are beginning to be made in that respect.
