My mother in law received excellent end of life care in every aspect for two months. She was challenging, awkward in many ways and didn't want to be there yet all the staff were extremely patient, positive and kind. Their communication with me was great.

My father in law has been a resident since January this year. The care and compassion he has been given is outstanding.
I haven't met one member of staff that hasn't been happy with the work they do. Always busy but always willing to stop and talk and give updates on what's relevant to my father in
law, who I must say loves all the staff there ! The food is freshly prepared and special dietary requirements met.
I have always been made very welcome when ever I visit. (Cake & coffee most visits!)
I can't recommend Meadows Edge highly enough, the care given exceeds expectations.

Staff are excellent. Mostly not from these shores, therefore good understanding of the English language is difficult for the patients to comprehend sometimes. The Staff all treat my wife (patient ) and I really well, Work rate, by and large, is excellent. Care is also very, very good. I am told that
Staff numbers are in excess of Statutory requirements, but sometimes none are available in the Day Room, due, presumably, to work load or, Staff Shortages! Overall, I cannot praise the service highly enough and I am certainly pleased that I chose 'Meadows Edge'. I would not hesitate to recommend the Home to anyone in the position of looking for Care for a loved one. One observation I must note is that sometime/s patients are sitting in wet pants for too long. I appreciate that it is difficult to check this at peak times. But patients sitting in soiled underwear for long periods must be avoided at all costs.

You are correct to say that staffing levels are currently in excess of those individual needs. I was sorry to read in your review that you witnessed an issue with personal hygiene and I would like to assure you that this has been addressed and will be monitored going forward.

Meadows Edge Home looks clean, well-maintained. I can see that the cleaning staff put effort into keeping it in good condition and ensuring the safety of the residents. All the staff are friendly and polite. The food is tasty and nutritious. I have eating dinner there with my husband.

Big room with nice view over fields. The is a small courtyard but not very pretty and nowhere else to go to outside. The food is OK but very bland and repetitive.


I am here because of a spinal injury and waiting to be rehoused - the other residents are dementia patients so hardly anybody to speak

to. It feels very lonely. There is one particular patient who regularly barges into my room - most recently at 7am when I was trying to sleep and I found them shouting at me at the foot of my bed. If I do leave the room to exercise around the building it is set out in a rectangle of corridors so if you encounter this person it is very distressing as they often follow and try to touch you.


There appears to be a shortage of staff as I need leg stretch exercises performed in my wheelchair twice a day but sometimes there are no staff able bodied enough to do them.


Some of the staff here are exceptionally attentive and make a real difference getting through each day.

Unfortunately, we cannot restrict the movements of other residents but do try to redirect residents away from spaces that are not theirs. It is also difficult to stop residents with Dementia from wandering in the environment. I would like to assure you that there is no 'shortage' of staff as staffing levels are continually reviewed to ensure that needs are met. It can be difficult at times for staff, to attend to immediate needs and meet the needs of all residents. I will be monitoring this, and your exercises, to ensure that they are completed. If you would like to discuss anything further, I will make myself available to meet with you.

Park Avenue care home provided my daughter with such good care during her time here and would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone. The staff are caring supportive and efficient. Sensitive to my daughters needs and ours. The work ethic is amazing and from the very first hour the atmosphere was like

My late wife was a resident at Park Avenue Care Home for the last 5 weeks of her life. The care and compassion provided by all the staff at the home was exceptional. They were kind, compassionate and fully understood my wife's very specific medical needs. The home is bright, clean and very well managed.
Specialist nursing and GP provision was always available from outside the home. The whole family cannot express our thanks enough.

It has exceeded our family's expectations. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and kindness by the attentive staff. The home itself is beautifully maintained, and the welcoming atmosphere immediately puts residents and visitors at ease. The level of care provided
is outstanding. The staff members are genuinely compassionate, treating everyone with respect and dignity. They take the time to get to know each individual, which has made a world of difference for my grandad. The activities are great, there's always something enjoyable happening. The dining experience is equally impressive and delicious meals. The manager clearly takes pride in her work, continuously striving to improve and provide the best possible environment for residents. The peace of mind we have knowing our loved one was happy, safe, and well cared for is priceless. We are incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful place and thank you for all the care you provide.

There are not enough words to compliment all the staff involved in my dad's recent care. From an initial visit, we were made very welcome and shown the rooms and facilities available. Communication was excellent and it was quite evident that Dad was going to receive the best care possible from a truly
dedicated workforce.
Although the property is of an age, it is well designed for the residents and was always clean and fresh and a hive of activity and well monitored.
Dad was always clean and tidy and always in fresh clothes. Everybody was treated with dignity and respect and it was great to see interaction with the staff and residents and guest entertainers. Food was of a very high standard and a variable menu full of choices.
Plenty of tea and coffee and biscuits on the go and fresh fruit juice every day.
The most notable factor was how polite everyone was and this made residents and visitors feel like part of a much-loved family.

My experience with Meadows Edge Care Home was exceptional. When my Mum needed care due to Dementia and I was living overseas, it was a constant worry. However, we couldn’t have found a better place for her. The staff, especially a certain member of staff, went above and beyond. She not only performed
her duties with excellence but also facilitated video calls between my Mum and me, which meant the world to us.
During my Mum's passing, the staff continued to support me, guiding me through the process and assisting with arrangements. I am deeply grateful to them for their compassionate and professional care. I wholeheartedly recommend Meadows Edge Care Home for their outstanding service in looking after my Mum.

My mum's been in Meadows Edge for the last 9 months and they have been consistently excellent with her. She has dementia, is blind and limited mobility. She's still able to talk, but, less so now than when she first arrived, is often agitated, unsettled and sad. That's not her nature, but part of her
condition. One constant from Meadows Edge, that I believe has helped Mum is the staff - they genuinely care in all senses of the word.
The facilities are much improved now, they've undergone some significant improvements since mum's been there. She's moved rooms and they were quick to adapt to her specific needs.

My mum went into Meadows Edge home in December for Palliative Care. I couldn't have asked for a better home for her. The staff were very professional and caring. Very attentive. She loved the staff there. Nothing was too much trouble. When she passed away they were very professional in every aspect.
She was so well cared for. Thank you to all the staff there.

Meadows Edge's wonderful staff looked after Mum for 6 years because of her dementia. We couldn't fault the care provided for Mum, and they managed to make her laugh and enjoy herself, during the most difficult time of her life. They went above and beyond with the care and support that they gave to Mum,
and kept us informed whenever they needed to.
We want to say a massive thank you to past and present staff who were there for Mum and us. We couldn't have got through any of it without your love and support.

My mum was admitted to Park Avenue in March 2023 after a stay in hospital, she had many health issues and was not eating and drinking correctly nor keeping up with her personal cleanliness after going to Park Avenue, this all changed and my mum started to gain weight and was having regular showers.
We saw a massive improvement in my mum because of all the time and effort that the staff showed her. The staff were very friendly, kind, caring and comforting towards my mum and myself and my sister. Unfortunately, my mum passed away at the beginning of September but we truly believe that the care that the staff gave her extended her life. We are truly grateful and thank all staff in all departments at Park Avenue.

My mother-in-law was admitted to await assessment after hospital discharge.
The whole experience was poor, she has dementia and had problems swallowing yet was left with hard, dried-up food which was cold as if leftovers. Her room was dark and dirty. She was on the top floor, unable to use a buzzer
and there were lengthy periods where there was no staff on the floor as we looked for them, there were patients calling out in distress with no response from staff.
On top of that, they lost her glasses and were unresponsive when we asked them to look for them.
There was a lack of managerial oversight, the place seemed to be run by the admin who said all the right things but didn't have any substance or act on them.
We were so glad to get her out of there as we could not sleep while she was in there as we were so concerned.

There is nothing good about this care home, the staff are pleasant but language is a barrier, other than that the place should be shut down. Very very poor facilities, everything is plugged into extension leads (health and safety out the window). No interaction with residents just left in dark miserable
rooms, with a TV if it works.
As for meals, you would not feed your children, (chicken nuggets and spaghetti hoops) nothing like fresh no fruit or veg, have to beg and question everything. Feel sorry for the residents who can't communicate and relatives who are unaware.
Residents seem to be given everyone's leftover attire,
Can't describe how poor this facility is, how people can leave good reports is unbelievable, how the CQC report has stated good have not checked the condition of the building and the poor quality of the food everything comes out of a tin, residents don't have a choice and food is just placed on lap if you are bed bound. Please take care if you are a resident/relative.

My husband was transferred from the hospital during Covid restrictions which had made the selection of a nursing home for him very traumatic as we were unable to view it before he moved
I needn't have worried Park Avenue was a great choice. The staff were so caring and kind and looked after my husband
who was on end of life care with compassion and made sure he was comfortable.
I am eternally grateful to them all for making his last three weeks the best they could be.
They also made sure we were ok and nothing was too much trouble.

The staff at the home are so lovely, nothing is too much trouble. They do seem to genuinely care, l could not fault any of them. They are so busy, yet will give you the time that is needed and made you feel at ease. They work so hard and l honestly do feel my dad got the care he needed and l am truly
