Every time I visit this home, I am more reassured that my mum is in the right place. The staff and management are friendly, welcoming and caring, and the facilities are excellent. The home and surrounding gardens are exceptionally well-maintained, and the residents are encouraged to take part in a variety
of activities that are stimulating and interesting. I would recommend this care home to anyone who might need the service.

My mother was in Woodbury Manor for just over a year when she sadly passed away in February 2025. Her arrival at the home was not as agreed as the hospital discharged her without telling me, however, the staff who weren't expecting her until the following week were kind and caring and made her feel
as comfortable as possible and made a room available for her. Throughout her stay the staff have been supportive to her needs and consulted with me as and when necessary.
Although my mother was unable to join in with many of the activities due to her dementia, the staff tried to engage with her and we, and other families were invited to many events - the home has a very homely and friendly atmosphere, the staff are very welcoming and the manager approachable.
During her last few days she and the family were treated with great sensitivity.

The manager and his team are so kind and caring. There is no doubt they are totally dedicated to the care and happiness of the residents. Woodbury Manor has such a calm, warm and caring atmosphere. All the residents seem very settled and happy. There are many activities arranged which the residents
thoroughly enjoy. My family and I feel very relieved and happy that Mum is so well cared for.

Mum was at Woodbury Manor from July 2020 - to August 2024 when she died. Over this time her health deteriorated and Mum needed extra support.
We found the team at Woodbury was good and happy to assist. Indeed many staff were very good and went the extra mile, for her and the whole family, particularly
in the last few weeks as she declined and our worries for her were at their height.
I do not believe that anywhere will be perfect for 4 years, and there were small issues during her time at Woodbury. However, I was impressed that the leadership at Woodbury always had an open-door policy and were very happy to receive feedback and acted upon issues raised.
The entertainment programme is designed to include everyone, and we were very pleased that Mum got to experience some of the events even when she was bedbound.
When she died some staff were visibly upset at her passing, showing that many really did care about her. Thank you Woodbury for helping us all through this difficult period.

Woodbury Manor truly was the home from home. It made the very best of a hard part of my very independent nans life. Not wanting to leave her home the team at Woodbury welcomed my nan with open arms. They were patient with her, kind and caring and became our extended family over time.
My nan loved her
time there and always spoke highly of the staff. She was well taken care of and even pampered.
My nan's final days there really opened our eyes to just how invested the team, staff, and managers are in each and every resident there. They went above and beyond to respect our wishes as a family, fought for my nan till the very end and when she did finally pass the care and love we felt will never be forgotten. Woodbury Manor will always hold a special place in my heart and if you ever have to make that choice of a care home, I would recommend Woodbury time and time again. They truly are amazing.

Attended the recent Woodbury Manor Care Home barbecue. We really enjoyed it, the atmosphere was warm and you could see the care/effort put in to make this experience special for the residents, family and friends. It felt like being part of a community.
The staff are very caring, dedicated and attentive
to the residents' needs. Management, two members of staff in particular are very approachable and welcome constant feedback to keep this care home at a very high standard. They act quickly on the feedback given. You can tell that they are kind and have compassion.

Cleanliness is always great and on top form... and staff all seem to be very kind and inviting.
Only downfall towards Woodbury Manor is the loss of the minibus... I feel residents really enjoyed their time out and now works out to be very expensive on trips out and this is just lunch visits. I feel
the residents will miss out such a lot on having no minibus, especially during summer months.

My sister-in-law has been a resident at Woodbury Manor since December 2021 and since that time, I have been telephoned regularly with an update on her well-being, her assessments and her medical needs. I am grateful that they keep me in the 'loop'. The staff are totally dedicated and some have become
friends. They do all they can for my sister-in-law who unfortunately is in need of even more care and attention since her review last year. Whilst she is in the home, I know my sister-in-law is in a good place.

Our dear Mum moved to Woodbury Manor in March 2021, just as we were coming out of COVID, sadly she passed away in August. During her time there she was well cared for, she was kept safe and the staff showed nothing but kindness and compassion. As Mum's dementia deteriorated, she became more challenging
but the staff managed her individual needs. They are really miracle workers. Mum was very happy there and saw Woodbury as her home. Staff and managers were friendly and would keep you informed with what was going on. A big thank you to all the team in the Dementia Wing. Superb facilities, hairdressers, chiropody, onsite health care, and in-house activities.

An excellent and happy Family Barbecue in the beautiful gardens at Woodbury Manor. Live music for all to enjoy, food and drink and lots of activities for children too. The staff seemed so happy to be able to hold such events again after the pandemic and they do everything possible to ensure the residents
are able to participate and enjoy the day. A nice opportunity to meet other relatives and friends too. Thank you to all involved, especially the very hard-working Activity Co-ordinators.

Our family came to the barbecue on Saturday, it was lovely to see everyone so happy and chatting away. Auntie came into the home in January and has been welcomed and looked after well during this time. I feel very relaxed when I come to visit her, the staff work well together as a team and know all

Five stars - cannot recommend this home enough. From the moment we arrived Mum felt at ease. She suffers from dementia. All the staff are highly experienced in dealing with all aspects of old age and dementia and the love and care they give is just like a family member would give. It has a vibrant

Our mum has dementia as do all other people in this wing. I think the staff do show a lot of love and care to those difficult people with dementia. Management are very approachable and also shows a lot of kindness and compassion to my mum. Communication has been poor though and this could be improved,
also feel that within the dementia wing, I would like to see the residents a lot more stimulated, feel they spend too much time sitting doing nothing.

It is almost a year that our mother has been a resident at Woodbury Manor. We have seen her settle even more and over this time has built a lovely rapport with all the team that work there. Both myself and sister are still so thankful she has a place here as it really is a very special care home. Mum

My brother spent the last 8 months of his life at Woodbury Manor, suffering from a neurodegenerative condition. Although his health was declining, this was a happy time in his life because of the kindness and affection that he received from all the staff every day. They were professional and human.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.273)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.273) out of 10 for Woodbury Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.806 for Woodbury Manor is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 93 Ratings = 4.806
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.467 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodbury Manor is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.667
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
