Mum went into Water Lodge for a rest bite stay. The care home is lovely, the staff are caring and friendly, and there is a lot of activities for the residents to participate in if they want to.
My mum loves to dance, I even went and joined in with mum and everyone else. We all had a lovely time.
The
staff welcome family members anytime of the day to visit their loved ones.
I would highly recommend this lovely care home to any family.

Mum needed some respite for a while. We chose Waterbeach Lodge as it was near to relatives. Mum spent 5 weeks at the lodge during this time she was very well cared for. The staff at the Lodge are caring and professional. Mum was relaxed and settled very quickly. Mum loves music and dancing and always
enjoyed the entertainment that was provided, she was the dancing queen! The meals were nutritional and mum even gained some weight during her stay. Thank you to all the staff for caring for mum, you all work so hard. I highly recommend Waterbeach Lodge for your loved ones.

Dad has been at Bullsmoor only a few weeks but we can honestly say, we are so happy knowing he is being cared for by such lovely caring staff. They are always smiling, so attentive and so patient. Dad is treated with respect and his dignity afforded at all times. They even share a bit of banter. A huge
weight has been lifted from our shoulders and we can rest at night knowing he is safe and his needs are being met. He's always clean and changed regularly and tells us they are all lovely.

Putting Dad into temporary care was the hardest decision we've ever had to make, but Five Oaks has been a blessing. From the moment we visited, the staff were so warm and welcoming, and we knew Dad would feel comfortable here. The grounds are lovely and the atmosphere is always friendly, but it's the
staff that make this place so special. They truly care, treating each resident as an individual and bringing out their personalities. After months in hospital, Dad had lost weight and was low in spirits, but since being here he's regained weight, become more chatty, and we've seen him laugh again - it feels like we have our old dad back. The management team - three of them - have been incredible, always supportive and approachable, and we feel total trust in them. We can't thank everyone enough for giving Dad dignity, joy, and comfort, and for giving us peace of mind.
Reply from Rahima Mulindwa, Registered Manager at Five Oaks

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. We understand how incredibly difficult it can be to make the decision to place a loved one in care, and we're truly honoured that you chose Five Oaks to support your dad and your family during this time.It means the world to us to hear that your dad is regaining his strength, his spirit, and his laughter thats exactly what we strive for with every resident. Our team is deeply committed to creating not just a safe and comfortable environment, but one that genuinely feels like home. Were especially touched that you mentioned the individual care and attention your dad received. Every person who walks through our doors is unique, and our goal is always to bring out the best in each one.Your trust and appreciation mean everything to us, and well be sure to pass on your lovely comments to the entire team, including our management. My father needed to enter respite care during July 2025 and attended Five Oaks for one week. After elaving my parents decided that he should attend full time. Unfortunately this did not work out (he was mentally affected by being parted from my mother). I cannot fault the level of care he received,
the kindness of the staff, the quality of the site and building and the efficiency of the administration. If we are unable to make alternative arrnagements we woudl certainly use Five Oaks again. My only slight criticism was that the food was very bland for someone used to fairly spicy food. Quite importantly the cost was very reaosnable too.
Reply from Rahima Mulindwa, Registered Manager at Five Oaks

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. Were truly grateful that you entrusted Five Oaks with your fathers care during his respite stay in July. Were sorry to hear that full-time care didnt work out as hoped, but we completely understand how important it is for families to stay together, especially when emotional well-being is at stake. Your kind words about our team, the facility, and our service mean a great deal to us we always strive to provide a high standard of care in a compassionate and respectful environment. We also really appreciate your honest feedback regarding the food. We understand how important familiar and flavorful meals can be, and your comment has been shared with our kitchen team as we continue to explore ways to cater to a wider range of tastes and dietary preferences.Should your family need us again in the future, it would be our privilege to care for your father once more.

The team at Five Oaks are caring and compassionate. They cared for my father for over 18 months in his final stages of vascular dementia with limited mobility. The choice to place a loved one in care is extremely challenging but Five Oaks provides a social environment with experienced, genuine staff
and a superb management team. Beautiful gardens, nice bedrooms, good communication are particular highlights. I cannot express my thanks to both the core day & night team for how they supported both me and my lovely Dad at the end of his life.

My mother came to Waterbeach Lodge last year in a very frail and confused condition after a spell in hospital. She rapidly gained her physical strength with regular meals and excellent care from the staff. Staff have been involved with the NHS teams to get her the help she needed and I am so pleased
that she is now able to enjoy life more. From being anxious and withdrawn she is now confident in her surroundings and interacts with the other residents herself. Staff always included her in activities which has helped her mental health massively. Chair exercises, entertainers and dancing, visits from preschoolers and scrabble club and lots more keep her too busy to do her knitting! Waterbeach Lodge is a quality hotel experience for its residents. The ensuite rooms are spacious and clean with views of the lovely grounds. With a large lawn and mature trees the A10 does not intrude and mum enjoys the garden from inside as well as walking on the paths and tea in the shade in the summer.

My mother's experience at Waterbeach Lodge was exceptional. From the moment she arrived, the staff ensured she settled in quickly, making a potentially daunting transition feel seamless and welcoming. She felt at home within days and she never once raised the idea of moving back home.
The staff were
truly caring, meeting her needs with kindness and professionalism. A reassuring test was that whenever we called or visited they all seemed to know who and where in the building my mother was. They were proactive in monitoring and managing any health issues.
The care home itself feels more like a hotel than a traditional facility, with beautifully maintained spaces, comfortable rooms, inviting communal areas and great garden. She thoroughly enjoyed the activities provided, from arts and crafts to gentle exercise classes and social events.
I'm incredibly grateful for the exceptional care Waterbeach Lodge provided. Highly recommended!

On entering the home, the staff are always friendly, you are met with a smile, it is always clean and smells nice. My uncle age 91 has been here since mid April and is very happy. He tells me the staff are wonderful, cannot do enough for him. The food is marvelous and he feels well looked after. He
also looks well cared for and happy. He always has a smile on his face when I call to see him. There is always lots going on and he will join in if he wants to. My mother has been at Five Oaks for over 2 years having been diagnosed with the cruel Alzheimer's Disease.
While there have been some issues I am pleased to say my concerns have not fallen on death ears. The new Care Manager and her care team are by far the best which can only be good for Mum. Whatever
I have raised they have dealt with in a professional and sympathetic way. I am regularly kept updated with footage of Mum participating in activities which the care home excels. Five Oaks is a splendid home beautiful gardens with some exceptional carers all closely monitored by the Manager who is friendly and approachable. A special mention to her carer who works so hard in a very difficult job. The place is usually spotless and although mum will constantly be on my mind regards to her well being I can relax a bit more knowing she is in the best place and If there concerns I will be notified. Please don't let your standards drop!

My mother is a resident on the Hargrave House side and the care she has received is excellent. The staff are without exception very kind and caring. They've really got to know her, her likes and dislikes and there's always a lot of good humour which she appreciates.
She has a beautiful room overlooking
the gardens and everything is kept clean and tidy and laundry is returned very quickly. The gardens are a real plus for anyone who appreciates some peaceful outdoor space and the newly resurfaced path gives Mum the chance to take independent walks or sit in the sun. Mum enjoys the food and the activities on offer. On site doctors/ nurses appointments are arranged smoothly by the staff and medical needs are picked up very quickly. If i can't be at the appointment i always receive a phone call to update me shortly afterwards. The manager and her team are proactive, always looking for ways to improve the lives of the residents and are very approachable. Highly recommended.

My mother joined Five Oaks as she had broken her hip followed by a long post-operative spell in hospital with successive serious chest infections. When discharged she was still very unwell with a high level of need. The staff did everything they could to ease the transition, both for Mum, and for us
as a family at a very anxious time. The excellent care she has received has enabled her to thrive and her personality is now once again in evidence. Mum thinks that she gets special attention but on our frequent visits to Five Oaks we can see that everyone gets that special attention. In our experience all members of staff, whatever their roles, show the same respect and warmth to residents and their visitors. The home is scrupulously clean. Mum has had some medical issues and these have always been dealt with swiftly and followed through. Any concerns we may have have been addressed once raised with the senior staff. We are reassured by the care my mother is being given.

Five Oaks

After looking at several care homes for my mother, it was obvious from the moment we walked in to look around that Five Oaks was the most suitable. My mum moved in November 2024 and is happier and much safer than she was in her flat. Her room was newly decorated and has a wet room and door into the
beautiful garden - it's perfect for her. She has been able to put up pictures, photos and personal items to make it more homely. The manageress is always available to talk and is very helpful. All the staff are lovely, from the laundry lady, people who dispense the medicine, cleaners and carers. Mum particularly likes the food, the very well cared for garden and visits from Monty the pet therapy dog. The atmosphere is always happy and the lounge always has something fun happening and all areas are spotlessly clean. I thoroughly recommend Five Oaks.

Muscliff Nursing Home

My brother spent his last couple of months living at Muscliff and their care and attention to his needs could not have been better. With advanced Dementia, some of his needs could be challenging but nothing was a problem for them. There is a very strong culture of respect and of affording dignity to
everyone and the staff group and Manager are extremely supportive to families as well as residents. The facilities at the home are exceptional and the staff very well trained and the right people for the job! With impressive activities and events, my brother could not have been better cared for. Thank you to everyone working there.
