Both of my parents reside in Millway and we are all delighted with the excellent care and medical attention they receive. The atmosphere is very happy and feels like home. Our experience is 100% kindness. Both parents regard the carers as good friends as they and all the staff take time to engage, laugh
and chat with such genuine care.
We also feel part of the Millway family. Over the three years we have been delighted at the stability of staff. The turnover is practically zero and all staff seem very happy to be there. Lots of thought is put into everything, from activities to the details in the residents personal rooms. Communication is excellent, with regular calls from nurses and easy and quick contact when we need it. There are lovely welcoming spaces to bring visitors to both in the house and the beautiful garden. Friends and relatives of mum and da,d are made welcome. Christmas is amazing, with mum and dad feeling like they are hosting us as we dine together. We love Millway!!

Very concerned to see my friend slumped in a chair on arrival. He was only helped to sit upright when we requested a cushion to make him more comfortable. He struggles to eat and drink easily. I had to request a beaker rather than a glass. Very concerned that he didn't eat or drink enough. He came
home without some of his belongings. I won't go into details but he left the facility much worse than he went in.
I was accosted by a resident who was quite aggressive. I felt really uncomfortable and didn't feel that staff were aware of what was going on in the lounge. They were very pleasant but the residents just seemed to be left without anyone checking if they were OK.
Reply from Shelley Sidhu, Registered Manager at Hargrave HouseWe're sorry for what you have experienced if you would like to give the home a call to discuss we would then be able to investigate the matter.

Mother-in-law has been at millway since January and has settled amazingly well . She has been well looked after and her needs met . When we visit she always seem settled well dressed and showered (which she never liked previously!).

My mother has only just started in the care home (1 week), but so far we have felt very welcomed and looked after. As a family we feel that a huge weight has been lifted of our shoulders knowing she is safe and getting looked after well and the fact she is smiling much more now is testament to that!
We have visited the home every day bar one and on every visit we have been welcomed and felt very easy during our visit. Everything is explained to us and we have been kept informed well about all that happens with my mum. Looks like we chose the right place!

Our Father moved into Millway House in January 2026 and has received incredible care from the day he arrived. He has been made to feel welcome, has been encouraged to join activities and has settled in his new home very quickly. Day to day medical care has been outstanding and a couple of emergency
situations were dealt with in a very professional and calm manner. His room is kept spotlessly clean, the laundry service is excellent and the food is always of a very good standard. It gives our family great peace of mind to know my father is safe and secure in such a caring environment.

Our mother has been a resident here for four years now, and both myself and my sister are extremely happy with the care provided. We both feel very confident that mum is being treated with respect and kindness always. If there are any issues, we are listened to, and any concerns have always been dealt
with. We always feel able to approach management at any time. The staff we have got to know pretty well due to her length of time here, and the fact that the same staff have been here for some time too. Well done to all of you, we appreciate you.

There was a water leak in my mum's room which caused damage to carpet. The source of the leak was located and mum was moved to a temporary room while repairs were done. The leak was located and fixed and the soiled carpet was replaced with laminate flooring.
This was all done in a timely fashion
and mum went back to her room. She was happy and settled during the process.
We are very pleased with everything and the manner in which it was dealt with and happy to see mum back in her room.
Thank you for everything, I am truly grateful for the care and effort taken to sort this out. Ayse xx

All staff present as calm and efficient. Communication is excellent, thorough and informative.
The setting is homely, comfortable and brilliantly clean.
The grounds are well maintained which creates a wonderful outside space for residents - weather permitting.
The activities programme is accessible
for most and respectful in nature to the needs of residents.
I would highly recommend Millway House as a next step on a loved one's journey when or if it became necessary.

After the passing of my Aunt, I felt the need to record our positive experiences that she and her family received from Minchenden Lodge . She arrived in 2008, and died on January 25th, aged 100 years and 4 months. In the time she lived there, she received the utmost care and attention, living a relaxed,
safe life of companionship and comfort.
The carers always showed great patience, humour and gentleness, putting up with her moods and eccentricities. The managers kept the channels of communication open, and we were kept informed about her well being. She loved her food, and was guaranteed warm nutritious meals.
When she was more able, she enjoyed the wide range of social activities organised by the coordinator including singing with enthusiasm, chair aerobics, experiences with animals, games and day trips.
Our family would like to thank all the staff at Minchenden Lodge for the best life she could have had in her twilight years. Maybe that is why she stuck around for so long.
Reply from Kemisha Morris, TBC at Minchenden LodgeThank you Brony for sharing such a moving review. We were deeply saddened by your aunt's passing and send our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. It was a privilege to care for her during her many years at Minchenden Lodge, and she will be fondly remembered by our team. Your kind words about the care, companionship, and activities she enjoyed mean a great deal to us, and we are honoured to have been part of her life. Thank you again for taking the time to share your memories.

I am very grateful to all the staff at Five Oaks for the care and compassion shown to my husband throughout his stay. It was a very hard decision to move him to a care home when I could no longer manage his needs at home. The staff made the place welcoming and feel like home for both of us. Free visits
at any time were a key part of this. Whenever there was an issue I was heard with compassion and they always made an effort to solve it. They clearly cared about all their residents. I am reassured that we chose the right care home for him
Reply from Rahima Mulindwa, Registered Manager at Five OaksThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We know how difficult the decision to move a loved one into a care home can be, and we are truly honoured that you entrusted Five Oaks with your husband's care.
Our team is deeply grateful for your kind words about the compassion, openness, and dedication shown throughout his stay. Creating a welcoming, homely environment for both residents and their families is incredibly important to us, and we're pleased that our open visiting policy and listening approach helped provide reassurance during a challenging time.
Your feedback means a great deal to our staff and reinforces why they do what they do every day. Thank you again for your trust it has been a privilege to support you and your husband
