The rooms are clean and comfortable.
My husband has settled well into life at Highgrove House.
A big thank you to everyone there.
I was accosted by a resident who was quite aggressive. I felt really uncomfortable and didn't feel that staff were aware of what was going on in the lounge. They were very pleasant but the residents just seemed to be left without anyone checking if they were OK.
We're sorry for what you have experienced if you would like to give the home a call to discuss we would then be able to investigate the matter.
I would like to thank all the staff for the care, support given to my aunt, my mum and me
Thank you for your review. I am pleased to hear how happy you were with the care provided to your aunt, she is deeply missed. I will pass your kind words onto the team.
The manager came round to assess my mum at short notice after she had a fall on the Saturday. We were going on holiday on Wednesday. Mum enjoyed her stay and said all the staff were lovely.
Thank you for your review. We are so glad we could help you at short notice and it was a pleasure to assist you in a stressful time. I will pass on your kind words to the staff.
My mother has just had a week of respite at Hargrave House. She has dementia and has never stayed away from home on her own before. We were very nervous to leave her. However she has had a wonderful time. All the staff were in regular contact with us ( day and night staff) reassuring us that she had settled in really well and not to worry. When I went with my father to collect her, she was a diffferent woman. Smiling, laughing relaxed and gentle. The quiet, calm and professional care of the staff have obviously given her the rest and stimulation she needed. She told us she has 'had a wonderul holiday', and has made friends. THANK YOU TO ALL THE STaff for making mums stay with you such a lovely experience. It has given us and our dad the rest we really needed.
Thank you for your lovely review of Hargrave House. I will pass on your kind words to the whole team. It was an absolute pleasure to care for your mum and we are so happy to hear the whole family had a well deserved break.
We have always found the staff (at all levels) to be professional, respectful, courteous and efficient at all times. The most important thing of all to us is that my mum regularly tells everybody how happy she is living at Hargrave House and how well she is looked after by the staff.
Thank you for your review. I will pass on your kind words to the team and we are so pleased that your mother is enjoying her residency at Hargrave House.
It is now more than one year since mum was admitted. She tells me that she is as happy as she can be considering her physical condition and everyone is kind and compassionate towards her. I am kept up to date with her progress and communications with the management and staff continue to be excellent.
Our thanks go to a great team at Hargrave House.
With kind regards
Paul
On my and my mums first initial visit
The manager spoke directly to my mum and this made such a difference with helping the transition into a care home , we are only a week in and already my mum has settled in beyond my expectations
Hargrave house feels like a hotel all the staff are amazing
I look forward to every visit as it's such a lovely place
Thank you for your feedback, I am sure the whole team will be pleased to know that your Mum settled so well.
She has a beautiful room overlooking the gardens and everything is kept clean and tidy and laundry is returned very quickly. The gardens are a real plus for anyone who appreciates some peaceful outdoor space and the newly resurfaced path gives Mum the chance to take independent walks or sit in the sun. Mum enjoys the food and the activities on offer. On site doctors/ nurses appointments are arranged smoothly by the staff and medical needs are picked up very quickly. If i can't be at the appointment i always receive a phone call to update me shortly afterwards. The manager and her team are proactive, always looking for ways to improve the lives of the residents and are very approachable. Highly recommended.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review - I'm glad that your mum is happy and I know that the Hargrave House team will be delighted to read your comments.
with the care she received that I felt compelled to write a review. We visited a few care homes when it became clear that mum needed help but from the very first time we met the manager at Hargrave we felt the care and professionalism exceed our expectations. Letting others take care of your loved one seemed a huge step for us to take but every need was taken care of with compassion. Our next difficult journey now begins without our mum but knowing she was so well cared for during her final few months makes a sad situation seem much more bearable. Thanks again to a great team.
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to care for your mum and to get to know you all as a family. I will pass on your kind words to my team as they a truly appreciated. Your mum will forever be in our thoughts
The staff coped with the situations and we came to the conclusion my husband needed nursing care.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. It was unfortunate we was unable to help you further but we wish you and your husband all the best.
Having spent a year visiting numerous residential care homes in and around the area. Hargrave House was found to be not only the closest but by far the best place to cater for my elderly mother's entire care needs. From its location to the care and attention afforded to my dear mother for her overall needs. All but none when it came to the staff were absolutely wonderful. By the time my mother took up her residency within the 'Alice Grace' dementia wing a year after first visiting Hargrave House, new senior management had been introduced to manage the whole of Hargrave House. For anyone considering where their ageing loved ones must spend their twilight years, I would have no hesitation in recommending Hargrave House.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review for Hargrave House. We really do appreciate your comments and recommendation. I am very glad to read that the Hargrave House team took such good care of your mother.
I cannot thank the staff highly enough for their ongoing support and care - and not just for Mum but for me, my wife and sons also.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I will ensure I pass this on to my team. Your feedback is highly appreciated and I am pleased that you are happy with the service provided to your mum and your family and thank you for your ongoing support to Hargrave House
I have always found the staff very good, they keep me up to date with how my auntie is doing and when we take her out they always make sure she is ready and looking good. The manager is also very good and tells us what has been going on and anything that is coming up. She also keeps us informed about my aunt's health and any issues she has had. Overall, the staff and home are very good.
Thank you for your kind words. Your feedback is invaluable to us and I am so pleased that you feel so positive about the care and communication you receive. I will ensure to pass this feedback on to my team as it is highly appreciated.
My husband was in Hargrave House for a very short time but all the staff were invested in his wellbeing. They were also very kind to myself and my family at a difficult time which they made as easy as possible.
Thank you so much for your kind review of Hargrave House. I am glad to hear that you and your family felt cared for by the Hargrave House team, at such a difficult time for you. Please accept my condolences for your loss.
I was very impressed with the level of kindness and compassion shown by the staff and manager towards not only my friend but his wife and family and friends.
Thank you.
We moved Dad from out of the area to Hargrave House. The transition was very smooth - all the staff were very helpful, kind and caring. We couldn't have asked for a better welcome.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we're very much appreciative of your comments and very glad that your father has settled in well. We all look forward to seeing you again soon.
My uncle has been a resident of Hargrave House for a number of years. He immediately settled in well and was made him very welcome. All the staff have a very caring nature towards him. The room he has is lovely and is much bigger than many others we viewed in other care homes. He is very happy and content and loves the food. During the covid lockdown when we were not allowed to visit I was regularly kept informed as to how he was doing which was very reassuring. I cannot recommend Hargrave House highly enough. It is like staying in a country house hotel.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, the management and staff are delighted with your comments and we're so happy that your uncle is settled with us and content at Hargrave House. We're very much looking forward to the reduction in restrictions in the coming weeks and life begins to return to normal. We all look forward to seeing you again soon.
I have been very impressed by Hargrave House. My Mother moved there in 2021 and since then they have done an excellent job in helping to settle her and make her feel like part of the Care Home community. I have always found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and caring for my Mother and she is always tidy and looks very well cared for. The quality of the rooms are also very good and any requests to personalise have been dealt with promptly. Medical care has also been excellent and the staff have been very proactive in keeping me updated after Doctors' visits to the Home. Very happy with the home and happy to recommend Hargrave House.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. The management and staff are delighted with your comments and we're so very happy that your mother has settled in and is enjoying her time with us. We all look forward to seeing you again soon.
Her room is lovely, much bigger than many viewed at other homes, and they let her personalise it; the emphasis is on it being her home. Myself and my sister are able to visit often and take her out. Covid rules have been difficult (nobody's fault) but the home has always strived to put the residents first, and all their needs which includes family contact.
Mum was not coping well on her own, but since being at Hargrave House we see much more of our "old Mum" back, which proves the care is excellent.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. The management and staff are delighted with your comments and we're so happy that your Mum is content in our care. We're really looking forward to putting the pandemic behind us and life getting back to some sort of normality. We all look forward to seeing you again soon.
