I would not hesitate to recommend Hargrave House.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, your comments are very welcome and we can only thank you for your positive praise. The management and staff are delighted with your response and we are very proud to have the opportunity to care for your mother. We all look forward to seeing you again soon.
Both my parents can be very difficult, and sometimes aggressive, but the staff have always dealt with them in the most sensitive, compassionate and professional way. I have always been well informed of any problems and the solutions that are proposed or put into place. I am always very impressed by the love and care that the staff show to my parents and the seemingly inexhaustible patience they display. I did have some concerns about the care provided by the night staff, as my dad did tell me of some of his experiences of their impatience and reluctance to help him in the night. However he has not mentioned this lately.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we are delighted with your sincere praise of our service. If you or your father ever have cause for concern in any aspect of his care please do not hesitate to contact the manager to discuss this, he should receive the very best care at all times of day regardless of the hour. We all look forward to seeing you again soon.
My mother has been a resident at Hargrave House for nearly five years now. Throughout that period both she and I have received exemplary care and support from all members of the team. At 96 she is frail physically but mentally still alert and enjoys banter with the staff whom she refers to as friends. Covid has of course made visits difficult, but Mum has never felt isolated. It is reassuring to note that staff turnover is pretty low in these difficult times so there is a consistency with the care received. Both my wife and I think we could not have found a better place for Mum to live.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, the management and staff are delighted with your comments and we are so proud to have been given the opportunity to care for your mother over the past few years. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
The only two things I would question are the lack of an alternative method of the residents on the first floor getting down to the ground floor when the single lift is out of order. I would think a chair lift or second lift should be considered. Also in this day and age a good WiFi service should be provided so that the residents can access the full range of TV providers and streaming services on their TV's.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Your comments are so very much appreciated by the management and staff at Hargrave and we are very thankful for your kind words. In response to your concerns in regards to the lift, this is being reviewed and we have alternative arrangements...
The good people at Hargrave House, every single one of them, are caring and loving thereby creating a community which is safe, secure and (above all) happy for my darling wife. I cannot be more grateful and cannot recommend it highly enough.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Your comments are so very much appreciated by the management and staff at Hargrave and we are very thankful you have chosen us to care for your wife. We all look forward to seeing you again very soon.
My brother and I chose Hargrave House for our father as he had already stayed there on a respite basis three times last year. He enjoyed his stay each time, so it wasn't a problem choosing Hargrave as a permanent residency as looking after him outside had become too much for my brother and his wife. We were very pleased that the staff were able to find a residence and know that he will be given quality care and attention every day.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review - we are delighted that you and your family are pleased with placing your father with us. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
The room my father is in has its own toilet, washbasin, TV, telephone, is quite spacious with wardrobe and chest of draws etc.
The staff are superb, very warm, friendly and certainly knowledgeable about care, The house is very clean with plenty of seating. Activities are nearly always ongoing every day.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. The management and staff are extremely proud of your comments and we're so glad that you and your father are happy with our service. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Overall the care and attention to residents is excellent, the relationship with staff and families is friendly. The racing evening was a success in bringing families together. Well done! I'm concerned about not having a closer toilet to the conservatory. This would cut down on the staff having to go as far with a (slow) resident. I have been upset a couple of times because of daytime incontinence being left too long.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. The staff and management are delighted with your comments. In regards to the facilities near the conservatory, as you may or may not be aware, the toilet next to the conservatory had to be removed from service due to being inadequate for our...
We are very happy with Hargrave House. The staff are just wonderful. Everything is very clean. Lovely place all in all.

Lovely over Christmas, we all enjoyed Father Christmas's visit. We helped to make Santas Grotto. The meal was very good, and we sang some carols.

My brother and our families could not be more impressed with the love, support and care provided by the staff at Hargrave House. Mum is content, engaged, well-nourished and happy. The staff show respect to all of the residents, recognise and celebrate their abilities and show real care, love and compassion to Mum and all of the other residents. They keep me updated with any issues or news.

My relative, who has some form of dementia, is cared for in a safe and caring environment. I’ve eaten there myself, and the food is good, and the staff are respectful and supportive.

Alice Grace is run very professionally and all staff have very good knowledge of my husbands care needs. Any questions, requests or queries are dealt with promptly and the communal atmosphere is calm and happy. The decor is so stimulating and comfortable. I feel a sense of calm and relief that my husband is in their care.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. The staff and management are delighted with your comments and we are so glad that we can be of service. We all look forward to seeing you again soon.
My mother has been well looked after during her time in Alice Grace. The staff are caring and kind. I have no complaints of any kind. Anything I have wanted attending too has been carried out promptly and with pleasure.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, your comments are very much appreciated by the management and staff alike. We wish you all the best for the new year.
A well-run caring establishment with excellent facilities. The sympathetic staff respond quickly to the changing needs of their residents, and always consult with the family and keeps us well informed.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Your kind words are very much appreciated by all the staff and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
My mother is having difficulty in accepting everything being done for her and she has little independent choice. Even though there are many activities, she feels none are useful or practical. She could possibly benefit from being asked to do some small task, so she has a reason to get up and not feel useless.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We have discussed your concerns with your mother and she seems much happier now, we would also like to speak with you to address any further issues you may have, please contact the manager directly to arrange a convenient time to meet. Thanks again for leaving us your review.
Attended the race night at Hargrave House. Great night. Residents and family members. A fun, lively evening for all. All I would say is that the music and signing was a bit loud for some residents. Looking forward to more resident and family events.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We will take your comments on board in consideration for our forthcoming events and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
I attended a lovely race night on 27th September. There was a very friendly atmosphere where everyone was taking part. A selection of drinks and nibbles were provided and the presenter was very enthusiastic. It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to get together for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We're so happy that you and your family enjoyed our race night and look forward to seeing you at our next event.
