I have been visiting a close relative for some time and have always thought Millway House as it is currently run is first class.
The staff are always caring and patient, her room and en suite are spotless.

A great effort is made to provide communal activities, but time is still spent on meeting an individual's needs.

Both of my parents reside in Millway and we are all delighted with the excellent care and medical attention they receive. The atmosphere is very happy and feels like home. Our experience is 100% kindness. Both parents regard the carers as good friends as they and all the staff take time to engage, laugh and chat with such genuine care.

We also feel part of the Millway family. Over the three years we have been delighted at the stability of staff. The turnover is practically zero and all staff seem very happy to be there. Lots of thought is put into everything, from activities to the details in the residents personal rooms. Communication is excellent, with regular calls from nurses and easy and quick contact when we need it. There are lovely welcoming spaces to bring visitors to both in the house and the beautiful garden. Friends and relatives of mum and da,d are made welcome. Christmas is amazing, with mum and dad feeling like they are hosting us as we dine together. We love Millway!!

Mother-in-law has been at millway since January and has settled amazingly well . She has been well looked after and her needs met . When we visit she always seem settled well dressed and showered (which she never liked previously!).
The carers appear to know her well and accommodate her likes / dislikes, with both her care needs and smaller details which are important to our mother .
The carers are always friendly and help us enjoy our visit .
Millway is a lovely , calm setting with good nutritious food .

We are very happy to see mother happy , settled and improving in herself since being there

My mother has only just started in the care home (1 week), but so far we have felt very welcomed and looked after. As a family we feel that a huge weight has been lifted of our shoulders knowing she is safe and getting looked after well and the fact she is smiling much more now is testament to that! We have visited the home every day bar one and on every visit we have been welcomed and felt very easy during our visit. Everything is explained to us and we have been kept informed well about all that happens with my mum. Looks like we chose the right place!

Our Father moved into Millway House in January 2026 and has received incredible care from the day he arrived. He has been made to feel welcome, has been encouraged to join activities and has settled in his new home very quickly. Day to day medical care has been outstanding and a couple of emergency situations were dealt with in a very professional and calm manner. His room is kept spotlessly clean, the laundry service is excellent and the food is always of a very good standard. It gives our family great peace of mind to know my father is safe and secure in such a caring environment.

Residents are well cared for and supported as their individual needs require. There is a good programme of weekly and daily activities and residents are encouraged to participate, including trips away from Millway. The family always leave Millway knowing that Mum is in very good hands and the homely atmosphere contributes to this feeling of care, socially, medically and emotionally.

All staff present as calm and efficient. Communication is excellent, thorough and informative.
The setting is homely, comfortable and brilliantly clean.
The grounds are well maintained which creates a wonderful outside space for residents - weather permitting.
The activities programme is accessible for most and respectful in nature to the needs of residents.

I would highly recommend Millway House as a next step on a loved one's journey when or if it became necessary.

My wife has been in two care homes. The first was in a grand building that looked very good but the staff didn't care much. By contrast Millway House may look a little worn here and there but the staff are excellent. They really care for her. I have watched them having enormous patience with some difficult residents. That is what makes a good home. Don't look at the fabric - look at the staff. On occasion communication with me could be better but I always know my wife is being taken care of. I could not submit this without rating food and drink but I cannot honestly give a rating for food as I have only ever had three meals at Millway.

My experience has been positive.

All staff have been extremely caring towards all the residents. I can't comment on the food (not having seen or eaten it) but I hear good reports of it. Millway House is an excellent care home. The staff are caring and attentive to the needs of the residents and work hard to maintain an excellent quality of care. The home is well maintained and Is in excellent decorative order with very comfortable furniture for the residents. The residents have many activities for them to take part in if they wish to, and also trips out for those who are fit and well enough. There are also many excellent and talented entertainers who visit on a regular basis. The kitchen provide a varied and excellent menu for the residents. This review is long overdue and there are no months that shine more than others.
The care team are exactly that and encompass a cohort of individuals who work together to provide a safe, warm and comfortable place for unique individuals to call their home.
The Millway team are exactly that, working together to offer discerning and individual care to each wonderful resident.
The home is immaculate. The care from the nurses and health care team is gentle, nurturing and kind. The catering team offer a varied and often bespoke menu that encourages people to enjoy each meal.
The ladies that look after the residents laundry do this with care and kindness. The maintainance team always busy approachable and dependable.

Excellent facilities and good standard of care from the staff. Disappointed with the management approach to family in resolving outstanding debt issues.

Overall care staff are very friendly. My mum does moan about the standard of food but I think that's more that she is quite frustrated at being in a home.

My Mum has now been living in Millway house for nearly a year. She is much happier and less lonely than she was at home. She is well looked after by staff and feels cared for. There seems to be a low staff turnover (always the sign of a good place to work) and many have been there quite some time. The staff are always friendly and caring. The Manager Claire is very approachable and Jo on the reception desk is always smiley and really helpful. My Mum enjoys the food and there is plenty to eat! The activities are varied and Sarah and her team work hard to ensure there are interesting things to do. My Mum has her nails done each week and very much likes the weekly church service by a local vicar/curate in the home. The communication with families is good and I receive regular phone calls from the nurses asking for feedback about Mums care. Millway House looks good and always smells nice and clean. I would say it's a really good home.
