My wife has only been in Millway House just under 4 weeks but first impressions are very good. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff who have gone out of their way to ensure she has what she needs and the questions of a new resident's family are dealt with quickly and effectively. She has previously
been in a different care home for respite and Millway House compares very favourably.

My mother has been looked after extremely well she is bedridden and has been in the home since July. All her needs are met and the office staff have been most helpful to me. The food looks good and the medical care has been good too. My mother is comfortable, safe, warm and clean. Her TV choices are
helped program selection. We are happy with Millway care home.

My mother-in- law moved to Millway in January 2018 suffering mild dementia. She quickly responded positively to the care and support provided. She was able to chose her room and again made it her own with pictures and family photographs. She was encouraged to join activities run by the care home staff
and this helped her remain interested and alert.
Before the present Covid restrictions we were able to visit her regularly and to make trips out to a garden centre or pub for lunch. All the staff we have met, from the manager down to the care assistant bringing tea have all shown the same level of care and consideration.
The last 21 months have been difficult but meetings have been possible in a garden "hub" and the staff have arranged video meetings so that we can stay in touch.

My father went into Millway for post-cataract care and respite in the middle of October 2021. He has a lovely room on the second floor, and now spends much of his time in the lounges whereas in his retirement flat he seldom left to socialise with anyone. The staff we have met are all great and supply
very good support to my father who is increasingly suffering from short-term memory loss. Whilst these are very early days for my father in Millway, he is well looked after and receives much more mental stimulation than living on his own, albeit in a retirement complex.

Extremely caring and a very high level of compassion shown not just to the mother but to ourselves as relatives during a very stressful time. It would be very hard to find a better nursing home than Millway House.

My aunt was transferred to Millway House from hospital after a fall at home. Since being at Millway House her mood has changed dramatically. She is very happy and the care and attention she receives is excellent. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and very considerate towards my aunt. The
food is freshly cooked and a variety of meals offered. Sadly because of covid, I am unable to give an accurate review of her room only the areas I have seen. I would recommend Millway House to anyone who is looking for residential care for a loved one.

Since Sears Healthcare purchased Millway House an extensive program of refurbishment has taken place to improve the comfort and amenities for the residents. The resident's facilities have been improved and brought into the modern world. I found the introduction of a coffee lounge a relaxing way to visit
when we were able to enter the building. Over the Covid period, the staff have excelled and maintained a safe and professional approach to visiting when possible. The provision of the gazebo and breakout rooms are ideal for visits and having those special moments with my mother.
Having issued iPads to all care staff, the client feedback has improved greatly and also the ability to increase staff training in conjunction with team building.
Over a very tough year, I am very pleased Mum thinks of Millway House as home. The staff have been imaginative over the last year keeping residents amused and entertained the best way they could with the restrictions that were imposed.

Every single member of the care home staff were fantastic. Every person I spoke with always tried their best to help. In my father's words "the staff here are amazing". They made what was a very difficult time for my family a lot easier. Could not recommend enough. Thank you again.

My sister was here from November 2020 to February 2021. She'd had a fall in September, was discharged from hospital in November but didn't feel she was strong enough to go home so respite care was the answer. All the staff looked after her extremely well and encouraged her to manage what she could herself.
I was kept up to date with her well being once a week and could phone her whenever I liked. My sister decided she was able to return home and this she has done. The staff were brilliant in these very testing times, I could not fault them.

I was a resident at Millway House for one-week respite break, during which I was very satisfied with all aspects of my care. However, due to the late arrival of my negative Covid-19 test, I did not take part in any activities.

The care given to at Millway House has been emphasised by lockdown. The staff are devoted and always give their best. Residents are well fed and kept occupied to the best of the staff's ability. The facilities are bright and cheerful and the garden is superb. I only wish I could take her out for a coffee.

The staff have made my mum feel very welcome when she arrived from the hospital, especially in these really hard times. They seem to understand mum's anxiety and are able to help and reassure her where necessary. There are many activities that mum is involved in which keeps her stimulated.

Claire is the registered manager at Millway House having joined in September 2021. Claire is a hugely experienced home manager, having managed established care homes and commissioned newly built care homes in previous roles. Claire is a Registered Nurse and passionate about supporting residents to live as well as they are able when they move into Millway House.
