My husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2012. We had required a live-in carer since April 2015. In January of this year, he was repeatedly getting out of bed during the night. We had a warning buzzer and the doctor recommended respite. The first week he was at Millway House he enjoyed the stimulation
the activities provided and the company of other people. In the second week, he succumbed to the chest infection which was rife. The family had agreed that my husband would become a permanent resident at Millway House but he only survived for two days after the initial fortnight. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and as far as I could tell, looked after my husband very well.

My father quickly settled in and felt well cared for. All the staff take an interest in him and are kind and friendly. Occasionally agency staff are less well informed as to the level of help required. Although there are a number of activities offered, they unfortunately rarely appeal to my father,
who happens to be more interested in classical music, theatre and nature - about which he is knowledgeable but we realise that it would be difficult to satisfy these interests very often. However, he appreciates the chapel services and particularly enjoyed the visiting school children singing carols, and theatre groups.

We selected Millway House Nursing Home because as soon as we went in, it felt warm and caring. The staff are all truly amazing, very professional, caring and in tune with my father's needs. They go the extra mile to ensure that my father has the little things that make a difference. We are indebted
to the staff for their support during a very difficult time, and we feel very comfortable knowing we can leave our father in their capable hands.

My mother has been at Millway House for 18 months now, I have always found the staff to be cheerful and very caring. The nursing staff know the residents and are helpful in all aspects of the residents care. I am always made welcome when I visit and the activities help to make the residents time enjoyable.

My mother has been a resident at Millway House nursing home for five and a half years and I am delighted to say that she is thriving very well on her nursing care and general care.
When I visit every day I am always pleased to see that she is being well looked after and she is happy. I feel as if I
am always welcome and treated as part of the family that Millway House seems to make relatives and residents a family feel.

We are satisfied in general with Mum's care needs, nursing care and welfare. She likes the majority of the staff especially during daytime but is not so keen on some of the night staff. Saying that their case is good. At times we appreciate her toilet needs can be demanding but that is the reason for
her being there. At times, her room and bathroom are in need of a good clean but overall, Millway House meets our expectations. Although Mum would rather still be in her own home, she appreciates the care she is given and is as happy as she ever will be!

My mother has resided in Millway House for about 3 years.
To my surprise, she settled in very well and enjoys the activities and outings the home organises.
She seems very happy there and her health has improved.

Millway House nursing home ticks all the boxes from the moment you drive in. A fine, light, sunny house that looks nothing like a nursing home. Upon entry, this continues onto the resident's lounges and rooms. Their happiness and welfare are very much the focus of the staff and they do a first class
job.
My mother says " I am very happy here at Millway House and I am looked after very well. The nurses soon make me better when I am not too well".

Very well run home. All the staff very caring my Father-in-law and my Mother-in-law are residents and are very well cared for. The food is first class. The home is very clean with no odours and flowers every where. Entertainment every day if the residents wish to join in. The Matron is very accommodating

Millway House Nursing Home is a very friendly place. We are always greeted with a smile by members of staff. The home is always clean and tidy and at weekends cleaning is carried out. The activities are good but my aunt cannot always join in as she cannot see properly. She cannot see or hear the tv.
She is treated with dignity and her needs are met. Sometimes there is a problem with her food because she is a vegetarian but this has improved. I feel that hairdressing and chiropody should be included in the care she pays for. My aunt likes to talk to other residents she is looking forward to being in the garden during the summer.

When my wife needed to go into a home, I inspected six homes in the Andover area accompanied by my daughter - we were not overly impressed by five, but Millway House was by far the best candidate and the presentation by the Matron was excellent. At the end, she said "we are not perfect, but if there
is anything you are not happy about, come to see me. I may not be able to fully correct it, but I will do my very best". One could not ask for more. My wife has been in this home for 3 years now and I am happy with every aspect of her care. I am completely satisfied that I made the right choice.

Claire is a hugely experienced home manager, having managed established care homes and commissioned newly built care homes in previous roles.
