My mother has been well looked after and I am happy she is here. The staff are mostly wonderful and really look after the residents well. It is best to take all valuables away from your loved ones as they have been known to go missing. However, my mother has been found with other residents' belongings
in her possession, so it is not something you can blame the staff for. They usually turn up in the end. Some of the staff here are exceptionally kind and considerate.

Thank you for taking the time for leaving us a review. Your feedback is appreciated and we will continue to review our valuables admission policy to ensure their safekeeping.

Staff at Woodbury Manor are always ready to help and any query or question is dealt with efficiently and quickly. The residents always appear to be well cared for and the residence and grounds are well cared for too. Our resident's room is clean, well ventilated and warm in the winter. There is always
a range of entertainments arranged to keep the residents occupied and active. The food is of excellent quality and quantity.

All the staff at Woodbury Manor are absolute angels.
My Mum went there for end of life care. They are so caring and treated my Mum with dignity, she was so comfortable. Due to their care and professionalism, my Mum had another 4 months of life.
I cannot thank them enough, nothing was ever too
much trouble for them.
They were all kind not only to my Mum but us as a family. Massive thank you to them all.

My Mum recently stayed at two Scimitar Care Homes, Woodbury Manor and Five Oaks for a respite while we were on holiday.

Both care homes offer very comfortable accommodation with en-suite facilities, spacious lounges and dining rooms and beautiful fully accessible gardens. The staff were very kind,

attentive and patient and made lots of effort to engage the residents in daily activities.

My Mum has very complex medical problems but the managers arranged all the necessary referrals to district nurses and also liaised with my Mum's GP to make her stay safe. They also suggested a new way of communicating with my Mum and made picture cards to help my Mum communicate with the staff.

In both care homes I felt a great team spirit and also the kindness and caring nature of the staff who were very reassuring. I felt very comfortable to leave my Mum there and she was in a great spirit on our return from holiday.

My mum recently stayed here for 3 nights as circumstances at home changed. She was initially very nervous but the staff were absolutely lovely and caring. They welcomed my mum with warmth and reassurance. There is a charming atmosphere with a great team spirit. I visited every morning with my dogs
which the other residents seemed to really enjoy.

I love the exercises and movement - to pop music. The instructor is very good. Lots of people join in. I look forward to that. This facility is very clean. Lots of showers. Sometimes the tea could be hotter! Really like the ensuite. Plenty of food on offer. They have even got me painting! Regular entertainment
- very enjoyable.

Mum has been at Woodbury for nearly 4 and a half years and our family has been pleased with the overall general care that she has received during this time. When you hear so much negative criticism of care providers it has been reassuring that Mum has been in good hands. All the staff are friendly
and nothing seems too much trouble when the occasional niggle needs to be sorted out. No real complaints during this time, which says an awful lot about the care!

Very strong culture of care and treating people with dignity and respect. This comes through from the management team to the individual carers who make an effort to know the residents individually and establish a personal relationship e.g. plenty of laughing.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.440)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.440) out of 10 for Woodbury Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.790 for Woodbury Manor is calculated as follows: ( (83 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.79
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.65 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodbury Manor is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.75
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
