Mum has been a resident here for three and a half years, and I still feel extremely fortunate that there was a room when we needed it.
Staff here are perfect, attentive, kind and smiley. Due to Covid restrictions, I have only sampled a few samples of food but all good. Mum's memory is bad, but all
the time she has been here, she says the food is really good.

My 94-year-old mother had a stroke last year, although she made a remarkable recovery it left her in need of 24-hour supervision. It was therefore with heavy hearts we knew she had to leave her home that she lived in for over 70 years (over 20 years on her own after my dad died). A very loving/loved
proud woman that revelled in her independence. We took great care to choose where she would live. From the moment we entered Ebury we knew the others we looked at didn't come close. She has thrived there. The care, kindness, respect and gentleness of all the staff are exceptional.

Ebury Court Care Home provides excellent care for our niece who has advanced Alzheimer's. She, as all the residents, are treated with the utmost respect, and their individual needs are fully met. The atmosphere at Ebury Court is warm and welcoming. Ebury Court is spotlessly clean, and all the staff
are committed to caring with compassion.

The standards of care are truly excellent. The staff treated my mother with such kindness and respect. The environment and facilities are spotlessly clean, warm and very homely.
The food is home-cooked and lovely.

My then 88-year-old mum moved to Ebury Court in April 2022, after struggling with age-related issues (as well as the pandemic), and we are extremely grateful for the wonderful care she receives in such a lovely environment. The staff are, without exception, endlessly kind and professional; the food
is outstanding and visitors always receive a warm welcome. As we prepare to celebrate her 90th birthday, it's such a relief to know Mum is finally safe and happy, after a very difficult time. A huge thank you to the team at Ebury Court for all the amazing work you do.

My mother went into Ebury court in March 21 and it gave her a new lease of life. She was well cared for by the lovely staff, who I could not fault at all. Their attention to detail was above and beyond. They were easy and approachable and knew how to care for Mum for all of her needs as well as the
family’s.

My mother has been living at Ebury Court since April 2022, as her personal mobility meant that she was unable to live unsupported in her own home anymore and consequently had carers visiting 4 times a day. Sad to say, they weren’t always the best and we were then lucky enough to find Ebury Court and
get a room for Mum. She has positively thrived since then and her life has transformed.
Every member of staff that I have met has been excellent. They all know her and it is very clear that everyone from the owners all the way through to the youngest member of staff loves what they do and consequently do it to the absolute highest standards. I can honestly say that this care home is entirely deserving of its outstanding status and couldn’t think of anywhere else where my mum would feel so cared for and cherished. My thanks go to each member of the team!

Dad has been in Ebury Court since June 2021 after the loss of his lovely wife/mum. I can't express the care Dad gets at Ebury Court. He has been there for just over 2 years now, he celebrated his 91st birthday in September and they celebrated with him and made him feel so special. The care he gets is
5-star, the staff are lovely and friendly and the manager arranges family meetings by video for those who wish to join, to keep the family informed of things going on in the home (usually once a month) I cannot recommend Ebury Court enough.

During the depths of the pandemic, my Mother-in-Law reached a point in her personal health where she was no longer able to live independently and the level of care she needed exceeded what was available. My husband and I live in Canada and we were in desperation as we couldn't go to help, or help find
a new home for her. With help from her social worker, we were able to place her at Ebury Court Care Home. The social worker believed that the small, family-style home would be a perfect fit for my Mother-in-Law. The moment she arrived at Ebury in March of 2021, we went from full-time panic to full peace and security. She was happy, the level of care absolutely exceptional. I am writing today because she is in the end stages of cancer but she looks better than she has in years. She is happy, she is loved and cared for and the staff treats her like their own loved Aunt - even taking her for special treats on her good days. Thank you to the staff, managers and carers at Ebury.

Mum died in March this year and I just wanted to express my thanks to all the staff at Ebury Court for their care and compassion. I had a call on the Wednesday to say that Mum wasn’t good and I spent that day and each day after that with her until the Saturday when she died peacefully in her room at
Ebury Court. My brother and sister were there with us when she died and I couldn’t imagine a more peaceful place for our Mum to be. Her window looked out on the gardens and sometimes we played her music and at others, we quietly chatted. Each time the staff popped in to check on Mum, we were asked if we wanted anything to eat or drink. All of the staff that came in were very respectful of Mum’s dignity. Due to Covid lockdowns, Mum had become particularly close to her carers and they were her new family. Of course, she treasured our visits but it was evident how much she thought of the carers at Ebury Court and so to die at home was exactly what she would have wanted.

My mother-in-law was already in Ebury Court and I knew she was getting well looked after so when my mum and myself decided she would have to go into care I contacted them and luckily they had a place for her. With her condition, I imagine Mum was a handful at times and sometimes she would phone me imagining
she was still doing her old job as a manager and the carers were working for her and complaining they weren’t doing what they were told and I was on the phone listening to my mum berating and abusing them and I must say the staff were absolutely brilliant and handled her very calmly and professionally. When Mum was good she joined in with the activities that were put on and I have some nice photos of her enjoying that. When Mum passed I was unable to be with her but I know she was cared for and I like to think she wasn’t with strangers in her last days. I cannot thank Ebury and their staff enough for looking after Mum in the 9 months she was with them.

My aunt passed away last December and due to circumstances at that time I was not able to be with her. However, I felt certain that the end-of-life care she was receiving from the staff at Ebury Court Care Home was of the highest standard and I was kept fully informed. The high standards maintained

My aunt has been at Ebury Court for the last three years and we are so pleased with the standards of care, facilities, activities, and the general running of the Care Home. We were so worried trying to find a suitable care home and we can honestly say we couldn’t have found better, and it’s always a

Just over a year ago, we found ourselves having to move my Mother into a care home. Normally, this is difficult enough, but doing it during the pandemic was even more worrying - there was no way to personally tour facilities, only go by the reviews various homes in the area received.
It was good fortune
that we found Ebury Court via their stellar reviews. Everything worked out spectacularly. From the welcome from the wonderful staff (and they really do go above and beyond) to the brilliant facilities, thoughtful care, and the graciousness that informs every aspect of their interactions with residents and their families.
My Mother is safe, happy and extremely well cared for. I'd rate Ebury Court 6 stars if I could.

Ebury Court is an award-winning outstanding care home with a well trained, friendly team. The staff and management are always visible, knowledgeable and approachable. The residents are treated with respect and dignity. Every effort is taken to ensure that each resident is happy and able to partake
in the varied activities.
Unfortunately, my friend died this year. He received palliative care for the last few weeks of his life. The end of life care was second to none. He was shown so much kindness and was able to die peacefully without pain. The team were very supportive of family and friends at a difficult time.
Ebury Court always maintains high standards and is never complacent but is always looking for ways to improve its excellent service.
Thank you Ebury Court.

We all really enjoyed spending time discussing the quality of Bitter over fish and chips at our weekly outing to the local hostelry! Ebury Court has been my home to my Nan, as well as a home to us for the past 14 years. As my Nan approaches 100, I know we made the best possible choice for her care. After visiting all the excellent and above homes, this was our chosen place. We’ve never once regretted our choice. The home is family-run,
with a very much family feel. The staff are all outstanding, the manager runs a very tight ship and never fails the residents. If you are looking for a care home in this area, look no further.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.996)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.996) out of 10 for Ebury Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.996 for Ebury Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (238 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 239 Ratings = 4.996
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ebury Court Care Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 39 registered maximum number of service users is 7.8, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Richard Key

Job Title: Managing Director Joined: 1982

Ebury Court is an independent family-run business, established by the Chairman, Mr Key (Senior), in 1981.

It is still very much a family concern. Richard has worked at Ebury Court for over 40 years and is now the Managing Director.

Richard is passionate about the quality of our service and keeping older people at the very centre of our care. He has a visible daily presence within the home, is involved in all aspects of the service and is committed to ensuring that, not just the care, but also, the physical environment is of the highest standard. To this end, he ensures that there is continued reinvestment in the business to enhance the quality of the residents' lives.

He is very interested in cutting-edge technologies. An example of this would be the sourcing, purchase and introduction of the Carendo shower chair which has truly transformed the lives of our residents.

He has extensive knowledge and understanding of the care environment necessary to ensure the highest standards. He oversaw all aspects of the design, procurement, construction and subsequent furnishings of our wonderful Orangery.

He is also unique in his commitment and support of new groundbreaking care initiatives, for example, Namaste Care and The Lavender Club.

Staff feel he is very approachable and supportive. He is actively involved in staff meetings and listens to their views before making important decisions. He also knows all the residents within the home and can often be seen socialising with them and their loved ones.

Ajeesh

Ajeesh Thomas

Job Title: Nursing Associate Joined: 2004

In July 2004, Ajeesh came to the UK with the purpose of pursuing higher education with a view to working in the care sector. In October 2005, he successfully applied for a part time position at Ebury Court, commencing his career in December 2005. In 2009, he was offered a full-time position and continued in this post for 3 years taking up all training opportunities including achieving NVQ level 2 and 4 in Health and Social Care. In 2012, Ajeesh was promoted to the role of Senior and in 2014, Ebury Court recognised his outstanding qualities and created a post of Senior Care Co-ordinator for him. As part of these new responsibilities, he continued to grow and develop gaining significant qualifications including the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services ‘Adults Management. In this role, he has also taken the lead for co-ordinating end-of-life care. Since March 2020, he took full responsibility for overseeing and co-ordinating the COVID 19 testing. Working collaboratively with clinicians confirmed that he wished to become a clinician. However, he was hugely conflicted as he was committed to Ebury Court where he had worked and flourished for many years. The dilemma facing him was to choose between working in the Care home and an apprenticeship at the local hospital. However, thanks to a new pilot Apprentice Nurse Associate Programme, Ajeesh was able to do both, qualifying in September 2022. He has flourished within this role which culminated in him being awarded the Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care’s Silver Award. He is now able to use both his considerable skills as a Carer and a Nurse within Ebury Court – a true integration of Health and Social Care.
