Five Oaks is a purpose-built care home, situated in the affluent location of Hadley Wood which borders the London Boroughs of Barnet and Enfield. Five Oaks care home is part of the AgeCare group that aspires to provide the very best residential care in beautiful hotel-style surrounds.

The home was developed in 1995 to provide residential and dementia care for the elderly. No expense has been spared on the magnificent interior with every bedroom having being bespoke, fully decorated with luxurious furniture and fittings, en-suite facilities, flat screen television, telephone and internet access. Residents are able to bring their own furniture if they so wish to really make it a home away from home.

Five Oaks is a very well run care home with conscientious, professional, kind, attentive and very helpful staff. The health and welfare of the residents are clearly front and foremost in all the actions of the staff. There is a choice of well balanced, home-cooked food at each mealtime and my mother-in-law
is always complimentary about the food and has many favourites.


In the pre-Covid era, Five Oaks had an entertainment manager who arranged a wide and varied range of daily activities. There were usually 2 activities a day, including pantomimes, mini-stage shows, singers, musicians, physical activities, etc.


Five Oaks looks more like a hotel than a care home, which we took into consideration when we originally reviewed the local care homes. This is why my mother-in-law felt at home almost immediately. Our family continue to be extremely happy with the level of care and attention that Five Oaks provide.

My Mum has been at Five Oaks for nearly eight years now, coming in during May 2012. During that time, she has always been respected and treated very well. Staff are very helpful and polite.

Five Oaks has extremely high standards in all aspects of caring for their elderly guests. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel cleanliness and decoration is impeccable. My mother enjoys the variety of entertainment offered and attends when she’s able to do so.

Mum has been really happy here. This is her third year. Recently she has needed more care and I couldn’t be happier with the care and kindness she has been shown. Five Oaks is a special care home and they have become like our family. Certain staff, in particular, I feel treat my mum like she was their
own. The staff are very approachable if we have any concerns. The stress has been taken away from us knowing that mum is being well looked after. The manager is a very warm and friendly person. I would highly recommend it. As a family, we looked at many places for mum as she is extremely fussy and this was the only place that ticked all the boxes!

Our minds are much more relaxed now we know we can rely on Five Oaks to look after mum better than we could at home and keep her safe - which we couldn’t.
We are always welcomed when we visit and can do so at any time.
We are very comfortable with the decision to place her at Five Oaks and are thankful
that there was a place for her in her time of need.

My father has been at Five Oaks for over 8 years and appreciates that he is in a safe environment. Staff have made adjustments to meet his particular needs particularly regarding his meals and meal times.
He is still active and likes to go for a walk most days of the week, weather and health permitting
and the freedom that he has to do this helps both his peace of mind and his general wellbeing.

My overall view is that Five Oaks is a caring and professional service, extremely well managed.


I have found the staff are well motivated and doing a very good job under what can be difficult circumstances as some residents can be very demanding.
Staff appear well informed generally and at no time

in the last 2.5 years have I needed to make any complaints.


House keeping is excellent and the restaurant provides a good variety of appetising food.

My father transferred to Five Oaks on 3 May 2017. I and my father knew the care home relatively well as his sister had lived there for some years previously and I used to take him there for lunch with her.
my impression of the home is that the facilities are spotless, the food is excellent, podiatry
the staff are helpful and considerate.


the local doctor visits every Thursday as does a district nurse and other personal care arrangements are podiatry.


I know that other activities are arranged eg bingo, chair exercises and the like


My father has told me that he feels safe, enjoys the food very much and that he is treated well by all the staff.

My father was a happy resident at Five Oaks for nearly four years (until his death, in February 2016) and we had no hesitation in placing my mother in Five Oaks, once she was unable to cope with everyday needs.
She already knew many of the staff and had enjoyed good friendships and positive relationships
with many staff members, across all responsibilities, for many years before.
This helped her to settle in very quickly, at what is always a very difficult time of transition.
We are thankful to have the very professional and caring team at Five Oaks to take good care of our mother.
