Five Oaks is a purpose-built care home, situated in the affluent location of Hadley Wood which borders the London Boroughs of Barnet and Enfield. Five Oaks care home is part of the AgeCare group that aspires to provide the very best residential care in beautiful hotel-style surrounds.

The home was developed in 1995 to provide residential and dementia care for the elderly. No expense has been spared on the magnificent interior with every bedroom having being bespoke, fully decorated with luxurious furniture and fittings, en-suite facilities, flat screen television, telephone and internet access. Residents are able to bring their own furniture if they so wish to really make it a home away from home.

My mother is currently in respite care at Five Oaks following a fall at her home approx 3 months ago. She spent 3 weeks in hospital and the care she received in hospital was appalling. As soon as we were able to discharge her we contacted Five Oaks. The Five Oaks team have been amazing initially to
transfer her from the hospital and then settle her into the Home and deal with her medical needs.


Mum is now settled and working on her physio with the aim to return home one she is fully mobile again. In the meantime, the staff have all been amazing looking after her and becoming friends. Five Oaks has a real family feel with visitors always welcome. The lounge is buzzing with lots of care staff around all the time.
Nothing can be 100% perfect but if you have any comments, just raise it with the management and the Five Oaks Team will sort it. Mum is happy and so are her family.

My mother is a resident of Five Oaks with dementia. Mum has been a resident for several years and we are happy with the provision and the care she receives. We looked at several care homes before choosing Five Oaks, the experienced and friendly staff, the activities offered and the facilities made Five
Oaks an obvious choice, and we have not been disappointed. The personal care mum receives is excellent, we can visit at any time and without exception, mum looks well dressed and cared for. The staff team work hard to ensure a positive feeling to the home.Communication is good, l am always informed if mum's needs change. Overall, l am happy to recommend Five Oaks as a good care home.

Five Oaks is a fantastic establishment. The staff are kind, caring and professional. The accommodation, food and activities are well thought out, and a brilliant food menu, is always on offer. The Manager is so hands-on and always a phone call away. They go above and beyond to help in any way possible.

My mother came to Five Oaks for 6 weeks respite after being in hospital. All staff have been friendly and welcoming to us all, and did there best to reassure my mother when missing family members. The home is kept clean and nicely furnished. Would benefit from an enclosed quiet area for residents and
families visiting away from main lounge but they have some lovely activities during the day to keep the residents stimulated and active as well, which my mother enjoyed in her time there.

My sister has been a resident at Five Oaks for two years, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. From the moment we first walked into the building, we were impressed by the bright, airy atmosphere and the warm smiles of the staff. We decided straight away that this was the right place for her.
The new manager is incredibly and keeps standards high. Leaving no stone unturned. She's friendly efficient and genuinely cares about the residents. The staff are always lovely and attentive. As a family, we have great peace of mind knowing our sister is receiving the quality care she needs and truly deserves. We'd recommend Five Oaks to anyone looking for a care home.

My husband joined Five Oaks October, and has settled in a very short space of time which has reassured me. I am happy to date with the care given. I find the staff to be approachable and friendly. Therefore, if I have any concerns I have no hesitation in speaking to a staff member. I really appreciate
and value the open visiting time, not having to fit in a constrained set times, also never feeling pressure to leave and just being able to move around, for example going to his room together. Thanks to the leader and her staff team for their continued hard work.

I vividly remember when in August 2018 my dear wife was diagnosed by her doctor with "Dementia in Alzheimer's disease!" a terrible blow! Two years later as the illness progressed and we could not cope at home, regrettably she had to go to a care home and COVID struck making things much much worse. It
was a stroke of luck later on to find Five Oaks and move her. She is looked after with great care by the staff, some of whom have been there for several years in a family-like atmosphere, a lovely garden, constant attention, and care for the good food freshly cooked in the kitchen. All of this is a great comfort to me. The recent arrival of the manager a lively constantly smiling, always available efficient young lady manager is contributing greatly to the management of the home. I sincerely hope though that there will be not too many changes to alter the family like atmosphere that is so precious.

From my first visit to Five Oaks, it was clear that the home provided a bright, colourful and welcoming environment. Although my father-in-law's stay was comparatively brief, before long-term health issues took him from us, he was well supported, both medically and socially, with engaging activities
and staff interaction. It is my opinion that he experienced more "life" in his final few weeks at Five Oaks than he had seen in the three or four years prior to his residency. For this, the family can be grateful.

My thanks to the management and staff for the outstanding dedication and care provided as the bridge between hospital and home.
Having been discharged from hospital 2 night post total knee replacement surgery, I was welcomed in the most warm and friendly fashion by every member of staff from the
first moment of my stay. My room on the "Quiet Floor" was comfortable and well-furnished which enabled me to live a very independent life with nourishing meals!
The compassion and kindness of the carers made a real difference in my recovery and I appreciated their commitment to providing me with everything I needed during my short stay which made a stressful/painful time more bearable.
Thank you for going above and beyond to provide comfort and support, I feel very fortunate that Five Oaks was available.

My very good family friend spent 4 years as a resident and was cared for extremely well by the very compassionate staff, but the main point I would like to tell others about was the terminal care that was given to her during her last couple of weeks.
Although there was nothing anybody could do, she
was made comfortable, kept clean and loved by all the staff, which is all we could possibly ask for.

Mum's stay at 5 Oaks lasted over two years. During that time, she was treated with genuine love and respect by the staff. The home provided a safe, yet social environment that brought Mum so much happiness and joy. Even during occasional challenges with her behaviour, the staff remained professional

My brother spent his last 5 years at Five Oaks and could not have had better care. The surroundings are clean, cheerful and comfortable, and the food is varied, well-presented and tasty. The care was professional and given with respect enabling each resident to be an individual.
The staff are all exceptional,
including the manager, carers, kitchen staff, cleaners and laundry staff. There are too many people who deserve an individual mention but thank you to everyone for making Five Oaks a homely place and allowing my brother to be himself for as long as possible.
I was always kept up to date with any changes in his circumstances and care and felt part of his team.
Also thanks for the support given to me and the lovely welcome whenever I visited.

My father lived here for 4 years and was well looked after by an excellent team who really cared. We couldn't have wished for more. Particular thanks go to five members of staff, but all staff deserve praise. Lovely setting, the house is clean and in a good location. Highly recommend this home.

My mother stayed in Five Oaks Care Home for the last year of her life and I can honestly say, the team there could not have done any more for her. Her last year was challenging health wise and with dementia setting in but they encouraged her to take an active role in activities and she sung her heart
out to the end. She loved the regular singers who came to the home and despite struggling with memory, she could recall every word of her favourite old time numbers. The staff at Five Oaks are amazing, they are not just carers, they are warm, kind and amazing people who go above and beyond. The care and love my mum received was beyond anything I could have ever wanted for her. She was dressed immaculately every day. Even the chef got to know her little food pleasures in life and spoilt her regularly. This is a very personal care home, where the staff are the key asset and make the difference. The management is excellent, helpful and always available and supportive. You are wonderful.

My parents have lived in Five Oaks since August 2021. Five Oaks is excellently managed with a caring and professional senior team. From what I have seen, the carers really do care about the comfort and dignity of the residents. Five Oaks has a very homely feel about it and is clean and well maintained.
I am kept well informed about matters. My parents have settled in well and I am can relax in the knowledge that they are safe and well looked after.

The immediate appeal of Five Oaks is from the moment you step into reception it doesn't feel or look like an institution but a warm, friendly hotel. My mum has lived at Five Oaks since November 2018 having spent 10 days there for respite at the beginning of that year. The lively, friendly and loving
atmosphere confirmed for me that it would be the best place for her when she needed full-time care. Pre-pandemic days were always filled with some kind of activity and entertainment with a huge focus on music which residents and family could enjoy together. My mum has Parkinson's causing her to have good and bad days which the staff fully understand and manage with care and kindness. I have always felt like one of the Five Oaks family even through the pandemic where every effort has been made to safely allow relatives contact with their loved ones. The senior staff and managers always deal with any concerns regarding all aspects of the residents' care.

My uncle has been living at Five Oaks for 3 years now and has been very happy living here. My uncle tells me that the staff are very good, checking up on him even during the night time, which is reassuring in case he has a fall and cannot reach the alarm. Five Oaks is kept very clean including the seating
and dining areas, the toilets, bathrooms and the residents' rooms, hygiene is very good which is very important to keep infection at bay. My uncle says that the meals are very good and has no complaints about the food at Five Oaks.


I visited Five Oaks myself and can honestly say that it has a really comfortable homely feel, is very well decorated and very much like a family home, which in my opinion is very important to the mental well-being of the residents. The staff are trained to help with medication and I have peace of mind that my uncle is being well looked after. I would recommend Five Oaks.
