I have a friend who has lived at Manor Lodge since 2016. The first time we visited together to view it, we were both struck by the friendly, welcoming atmosphere in a very pleasant home that accommodates residents. My friend was shown 2 possible rooms, one of which was a large pleasant room which he
immediately decided on. Since he has been living there, he has been excellently looked after and his every need has been looked into and addressed. He is very happy there, feels comfortable with the staff and confident in mentioning to the staff any problems or health issues. As his friend, I feel welcomed when I visit and always listened to whenever I have had questions to ask or problems that have needed to be sorted out. A happy and well ordered home for him to live in and be cared for.

Dad has been a resident since 13th January 2017 when he was very kindly offered a place at Manor Lodge at a time when we were experiencing problems with his care at home and decisions being made on Dad's behalf whilst in the hospital by doctors. Since Dad has been a resident, he has been looked after
very well by the managers and staff. He is very happy which makes it for us as a family to spend quality time with him when we visit. Manor Lodge also provides him with 24-hour care and a good routine which he is thriving on. We can't thank the management and the team enough for all the care and support whilst looking after dad.

My mother has been a resident at Manor Lodge for some years now and I can honestly say that I have not any doubt that it can be recommended for any person looking for a homely, loving and caring residential home for themselves or a loved one. The staff are all carefully chosen and offer comfort and
safety with a cheerful attitude. All the residents are kept clean and fresh and all food freshly prepared.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.916)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.916) out of 10 for Manor Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.916 for Manor Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (294 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 321 Ratings = 4.916
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Manor Lodge is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 16 registered maximum number of service users is 3.2, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Ana-Maria

Ana-Maria Musteata

Job Title: Activities Coordinator Joined: 2016

Ana-Maria Musteata: A Heart at the Centre of Manor Lodge, part of RMD Care Group
In a world where compassion often speaks louder than words, Ana-Maria Musteata has built a career rooted in empathy, dedication, and the quiet power of human connection. As the Activity Coordinator at her care home, Manor Lodge, Ana-Maria brings nearly a decade of experience and a deeply personal journey to her role, one that began with a mop and grew into a mission.

From Cleaner to Coordinator: A Journey of Purpose
Ana-Maria first stepped through the doors of the care home in October 2016, hired as a cleaner. But within just a month, she felt a calling to do more. She transitioned into a carer role, and by 2018, she was serving as a Night Senior Carer, a position she held with pride until April 2024. Today, she leads the home's activity program, crafting daily experiences that bring joy and meaning to residents’ lives.

A Day in the Life: Creating Joy, One Activity at a Time
Ana-Maria’s days are filled with creativity and care. Whether she’s organising games, leading gentle walks, reading aloud, or planning group celebrations, her goal is simple: to make each resident feel seen, engaged, and uplifted.
She finds the greatest reward in the small moment, “Watching residents light up when they’re engaged in something meaningful. Those smiles remind me why I love this work.”

Lessons in the Quiet Hours
One of Ana-Maria’s most cherished memories comes from her early days as a night carer. Two residents, Peter Jefrinson and Rachel Ravell, often struggled with sleep and would call on her for company. Though Ana-Maria was still learning English, Peter and Rachel patiently taught her during those quiet hours. “It was a true exchange,” she recalls. “They shaped both my work and my life.”

Building Trust, One Conversation at a Time
Ana-Maria’s approach to care is deeply personal. She believes in being present, listening intently, and encouraging residents to participate in activities that reflect their interests. “It’s in the small, everyday conversations that trust grows,” she says.
Her colleagues describe her as dedicated, patient, and full of energy, someone who brings warmth into every room she enters. Outside of work, she recharges by reading and taking long walks, a quiet reflection of the calm she brings to her role.

A Home Filled with Heart
For Ana-Maria, quality care means more than meeting physical needs; it’s about dignity, patience, and nurturing the spirit. She hopes visitors feel the same warmth she does: “That Manor Lodge is a place full of kindness and connection, a home where people are truly cared for and valued.”
