The staff and management are extremely caring and treat residents with respect and dignity. The home is bright and clean with good facilities and good food. I am not sure about the activities as yet. My dad would benefit from being more engaged in some activities.

Many thanks for your review. We are constantly looking at activities, and it's an area which comes with different beliefs. Some would argue that residents should not have to engage or be troubled with joining in activities at this late stage in life, others would say that they are tired and...

This care home has been exceptional in everything they do. My aunty lived here for 7 plus years and was very happy. She was treated with dignity and respect and the staff treated her like family. I cannot express my gratitude to them, especially in her final months. She had no dementia and would tell me how fantastic the staff were to her and how she couldn't have been happier anywhere else. The staff honestly go over and beyond andI would recommend this home to anyone without a shadow of a doubt. I have been to many homes but never one as phenomenal as this one.

Many thanks, Tony. Glad to read the positive feedback you have given us. Aunty is dearly missed as she was the light and soul of activities. Trust you are ok. Many thanks. Ian

A friend had been suffering from severe and acute depression and could not cope with independent living. In the 6 months since he has has been at The Meadows he has made a remarkable transformation: he has put on weight, he is cheerful and friendly and he is progressing in activities which he had all but given up - reading, watching tv and conversing with people. His mental health was in an extremely parlous state and it is because of The Meadows that he has made such an excellent recovery. Its staff can only be described as excellent - they are attentive to the needs of the residents, they are good communicators and are very caring and kind people. This has to be the result of good management and employment practices. The whole atmosphere in The Meadows is one of "well-being" and on entering the building you sense you have entered a secure and warm environment where residents are well looked after by professionals who care about their welfare. I would highly recommend this care home.

The care my late auntie received at The Meadows was excellent. The staff are kind, caring and very patient. The Meadows is exceptionly clean and homely, the food tasty and nourishing. The owner could not have done more for my auntie, always ready to listen and make sure my auntie's wellbeing was foremost. My auntie was very happy here.

Reply from Ian Somauroo, Company Director at The Meadows Residential Care Home
Thank you, Elaine. I don't have to tell you how we enjoyed looking after your auntie. She was very special to the carers and we had a special bond. I enjoyed visiting and feeding her when she was in hospital. Her face always lit up when she saw me. We miss her dearly.

Glad to read your positive comments and feedback. Much appreciated.

My mum has been at The Meadows for nearly 18 months. She is well cared for and always clean. All the staff show her respect and are patient with her due to her lack of confidence and understanding of English. The owners and management are regularly present at the care home, which is reassuring to know that they are very much involved in the care of their residents. They are always available for a chat. If there are any issues or concerns, the owners and management always deal with them immediately and in a very professional manner.

I am always kept up to date with mum's wellbeing. All the staff are very friendly and welcome you with a smile, they also have time for a chat. Mum does say she misses her own home but, when I take her out for the day she is always eager to return to The Meadows and when the staff open the front door she feels relieved and says "I'm back home" with a smile on her face. This is comforting to me as I know she feels safe and happy.

The Meadows is a very well run care home, professional staff, management and owners.
My Father is extremely happy there, would definitely recommend.

It is in a nice area and not being such a large home, I feel Residents get great care and attention from all staff. I also feel very welcome whenever I visit. Can't fault it.

The prospect of searching for a suitable care home for my Dad was daunting, to say the least. The staff welcomed us when we came to make an enquiry. We couldn't be happier with the level of care Dad receives. Everyone is so friendly, professional and approachable. Whenever there is a concern, staff are always willing to sit down and discuss things. Communication between the family and the staff is remarkable. Dad is happy, has made friends and we feel reassured that he is being very well looked after. It is comforting to know that Dad isn't just another resident. The staff have got to know him really well, engage him in regular conversation and enjoy involving him in activities to keep him connected. We feel he is in the best possible place and are so very grateful to everyone involved with his care needs.

Many thanks, Maeve. It is always a pleasure to read positive reviews which mean that we are doing well and meeting expectations. We will, of course, continue to make improvements as deemed necessary and hopefully carry on getting positive outcomes to all concerned.
Many thanks

Following a period of unsettlement after the passing of my Mother, we came across The Meadows and haven't looked back. Staff are professional but extremely caring and friendly. The home is clean and extremely comfortable. I visited many homes to find one that my father would be happy in and The Meadows is the best by far, even including those that charge a great deal more.

My mother went to The Meadows as a temporary placement until a place became available closer to home. She was treated with respect and dignity and the level of care was exceptional.
Communication with staff was excellent and management were always available for support and help. I found this a real help as it was Christmas and a difficult time for Mum to be placed in a home.
The Meadows is a "home from home" and staff work hard to create its calm and homely environment. My Mum was very happy there and thank you to everyone who looked after her and always went the extra mile to give her the care and time she needed.
The family run home gives you a feeling that residents are genuinely cared about and are considered as people first, their needs and unique requirements being met as much as possible.

Thank you especially to two members of staff in particular- your support was incredible and so greatly appreciated at what was a very difficult time for our family.

Reply from Ian Somauroo, Director at The Meadows Residential Care Home

Many thanks for your comments Deborah. I am so pleased that we were able to help you, & especially your mum over the Xmas period. On behalf of all the staff, may I wish your mum good health and a speedy recovery. Obviously, we were delighted to have been of assistance to all members of your family. Thank you once again for your feedback.

My friend regularly responds to our questions, as to his welfare states he is very happy here. When we visit there always seems to be an enjoyable activity going on or an activity planned. He enjoys his food and his regular walks. The staff are all approachable and aware of his needs and often noticed to be proactive in their support.

The Meadows is a really lovely, exceptional care home. The staff are truly dedicated and the residents are treated with outstanding care, dignity and respect. At the beginning of our visit, we were greeted so warmly by the staff and that warmness continued throughout our time there. The residents are all so well cared for and it was lovely to see how happy they all were and how attentive the staff were towards them all. The home was warm, spotlessly clean with a vibrant atmosphere. The day we visited, they were celebrating the birthday of a resident, It was lovely to be part of such a special celebration. An exceptional care home, wonderful staff and happy well cared for residents.

My mother has been at the Meadows for 6 years now. I am a social worker and visit a lot of homes with my job and this is the best care home I have ever been to. The care is outstanding and the owners have done a remarkable job at turning it around. They spent a lot of money upgrading everything and making sure that the residents have the best of everything. The care is outstanding and my mum tells me the food is great and typically being a fussy eater that counts for quite a lot. The Managers are fantastic at what they do and they have a great ability to pick incredibly caring carers. This is simply the best care home out there (and as I'm sure people reading this are aware that is incredibly difficult to find). I am so grateful for the fantastic care my mother receives. She was always a well-kept woman and The Meadows understands the need and importance of keeping her well turned out. We are consulted on all her care plans and they call to update us on any changes. This is an absolute gem!

We couldn't believe our luck when a vacancy came up, as we were on the waiting list & they are always at full capacity. The owners were so friendly, kind & understanding of our needs. The home in general is exceptionally clean, with a homely-feel. We knew immediately that this was the right place for my aunty. The bedrooms are individually decorated so they don't have a clinical feel. The owners are both nurses, so that immediately put us at ease. The carers & managers are exceptional & truly care for the residents. They are all very gentle, kind & hardworking. The residents including my aunty are constantly encouraged to drink, stand & walk, so they don't develop sores & the thing that's extra special is the way the carers hug the residents & give human contact. I was recently at the home when the activity coordinator was working & she was amazing. She said she can tailor make plans for the residents, but they usually play bingo, bowling, karaoke, cards, painting & darts. I cannot fault this home!

When I first walked into The Meadows Residential Care Home looking for a place for my mum, I was greeted with a very warm welcome by staff in a very homely atmosphere, I immediately felt this could be the right home. During my visit I spoke to residents who all seemed happy and well cared for. The owners were very understanding and helpful especially during the assessment process, and the setting up of mum’s room with her own furniture and ornaments. All of our requests were met, even changing the wash hand basin taps in mum’s en-suite bathroom. On mum's arrival she was welcomed into the home with a lovely bunch of flowers and welcome note.
The home is well managed and run to a very high standard, the owner’s and their staff are very committed to the home and resident’s needs. The office manager is very efficient, professional and helpful and the hardworking staff very friendly and caring to residents and visitors. The home is kept very clean throughout and always has a pleasant smell.
Mum has settled in quickly, she feels very safe and is well cared for by all staff. The care, kindness, attention and support given to my mum is excellent, this is of utmost importance to mum and her family. My mum is very happy and feels respected and supported at The Meadows.
The standard of care provided is highly professional, the owners and staff create a very friendly and approachable atmosphere and are always happy to help with resident’s needs. Staff are brilliant in every way always cheerful and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, they always take time to talk to us as well as mum, making us all feel welcome. I am very happy mum has moved into a very nice home.

I would strongly recommend this home to friends and relatives or anyone reading this review.

My Mother spent over 4 years at The Meadows in Greenford suffering from Dementia and the personal support needs coming from old age. During this period the care and individual attention she received during her stay was excellent in every respect. The Meadows provides a well managed environment that looks after the needs of its clients with pride, commitment and to the highest professional standards you could wish for. The owners and staff are very friendly, hardworking and approachable but most importantly highly professional in the standard of care they continue to provide.

Sadly aged 90 our Mother passed away in July 2015 it was a very sad and emotional period for me and my brothers but I can honestly say the staff at The Meadows had been exceptional in every respect during this time. The Manager was so caring and supportive and a real professional helping us deal with Mum's last few days so she passed away comfortably with dignity and respect. We could not have wished for more support during Mum's last few days, everything possible was done to make her comfortable during her end of life care and to look after our needs.

The owner has transformed the Meadows into a well managed home and an example of best practice that I am sure others could learn from. The home has undergone significant investment in the past 3/4 years improving and extending facilities for residents and staff to very high standards.

As a family The Meadows is very important to us as my late Mother's sister is also a resident and like Mum was, my Aunt is looked after according to her agreed care plans giving us peace of mind and the confidence she is being cared for to the highest standards.

Thank you to the management and all staff at The Meadows for your ongoing commitment and delivering the quality care standards that we see consistently every time we visit the home.

The Meadows is a very well-run and caring home for its residents and caters well for a range of needs with a conscientious and hard-working staff. It feels like a 'home' rather than an institution and families are openly welcomed to visit any time of the day - often met with a lovely cup of tea and biscuit! The Manager works hard to ensure staff are supervised and are addressing the residents' needs and also ensures she meets regularly with families to discuss any concerns that have arisen. Communication lines are very clearly followed and reassure families who may have questions and queries. The home has very good links with an excellent GP service - medical issues are dealt with very promptly which is crucial when dealing with the elderly. In fact, the manager works very hard to liaise with all external agencies involved in the care of the residents to ensure they have all the care they need. Residents appear very happy and relaxed in their homely environment. A range of activities is provided for residents to participate in, though care is taken to tailor the tasks to the interests of the resident. All in all, the Meadows is a happy home though the management and owners are always looking at ways to improve it.
