All staff are extremely kind and welcoming. The home itself is very homely, warm and clean. It is somewhere I can truly say I'm happy my Nan is in a safe and warm place, which shows her nothing but care and respect.

The carers work extremely hard to care for all of the resident's needs.
Compared to the volume of carers that were here 4 years ago - the facility is extremely short staffed.
Reply from Home Manager, Home Manager at Roseacres Residential Care Home

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Roseacres ensure that the home follows regulation regarding right staffing levels in running the care home safely and ensuring our residents are safe at all times. In addition to that, we had a dependency level review of our residents and we also increased the level of staff working during the day, which was identified to be the busy period in the care home and significant changes were noted by the residents, relatives and staff. I hope this provides some reassurance to you but please do not hesitate to call in and speak to me directly at any time.

I would like to pass on sincere thanks to all the staff at Roseacres who cared for my father in his last few weeks.
My mother cared for my father for as long as she could at home and very reluctantly realised she could not manage and needed help with his care.
As soon as we met the manager and the
staff at Roseacres we realised we’d found a very special place. Every member of the staff are caring, respectful and the standards of care are exceptional.
The staff went out of their way to sort out my father's care when he needed additional support with the community palliative care team, ensuring he was pain free and not distressed in his last few days.
The staff made my mother welcome and provided her with support through a very difficult time, keeping her involved in decisions and in my fathers care.
As a family we would all like to thank Roseacres for their exceptional care and would highly recommend this home.

This care home is both clean and attractively decorated. Much care goes into the seasonal displays in the day-room, keeping account of the year's calendar and celebrations. The day-room is bright and airy, looking out on to a large well kept garden.
However, what makes it stand out most are the patient
and cheerful carers who work hard to meet all the residents' needs. Their care right up until the end of a person's life is both personal and genuine.
I would be very happy to recommend the home to anyone looking for a caring environment for their elderly relative or friend.

From my first phone call with Roseacres Residential Care Home. I was given excellent help and advice. Our visit was at very short notice and we were given an extensive tour, all questions answered thoroughly. Our circumstances were different to most as separating parents after 64 years of marriage,
it had to be right. Roseacres have made the visits by my dad and our family so welcoming and friendly. Tea, cake or biscuits always offered no matter what time it is.
The staff are very caring and extremely considerate of my mum's needs.
She has been at Roseacres four months now and has settled in well, this is also due to the amazing people who work there.

My Husband is a very new resident of Roseacres Residential Care Home.
I would like to express my gratitude for the care and attention he has received since his arrival.
The staff have been nothing but courteous and kind to both him and my family.
The standards in the home are excellent.
As a small
footnote, I would like to add that in 55 years of marriage, I have just received a Valentine's card for the first time, made by him in one of the activity classes.
It has made all the years of waiting for one worthwhile.

After having had a not very pleasant experience at a previous care home, it was a complete pleasure just to be walking into Roseacres.
In the short time my Father has been there the care he has received as been wonderful.
The staff encourage the residents to participate in activities, something which
my Dad had never done, but he now is more than happy to do.
Everything from Food to cleanliness is excellent.
My dad is treated with the dignity he deserves.
My family and I can only praise the management and staff, for running such a beautiful place.

I have nothing but praise for the support and care provided by the Roseacres staff during my mum's residence at the home (January 2013 - January 2017). Especially during her last year and her last days at the home (under the management), when she was receiving palliative care, I was struck by the
kindness, efficiency and attentiveness of all members of the staff team. Handovers between different staff and shifts were seamless, liaison between the home and the local medical services was smooth, and I was kept informed at all times about everything. Mum was clean and treated with dignity, and I really felt that staff were there for me and my family as much as for my mum. I will never forget what they did and am indebted.

Since my father came to Roseacres 18 months ago he has had the best care possible. He is treated with dignity and receives the best care and support on a daily basis.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.474)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.474) out of 10 for Roseacres Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.574 for Roseacres Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 115 Ratings = 4.574
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Roseacres Residential Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2019

I have been at Roseacres Residential Care Home since 2019. With over thirteen years of experience in the care industry, I’ve had the privilege of serving our residents and their families in various capacities, starting as a Deputy Manager and now leading as a Home Manager.

My journey in the care sector has been driven by a deep passion for enriching the lives of our elderly residents, creating a haven where they feel cherished and valued. My tenure as Deputy Manager allowed me to gain hands-on experience in understanding the intricate needs of our residents, their families, and our dedicated staff members.

As I transitioned into the role of Home Manager, I’ve remained steadfast in upholding the core values that define Roseacres. We are unwavering in our commitment to creating an environment that radiates warmth and quality person-centred care. I believe that a true sense of home goes beyond physical spaces; it’s about building emotional connections and fostering a sense of belonging. Each of our resident’s journeys is unique, and it’s our responsibility to ensure they’re treated with the utmost dignity, respect, and love – just like family.
