The care and service is wonderful. The home is clean, tidy, food is good, services provided for residents are food, all staff who I have come into contact with are friendly, polite, courteous and competent. Reception staff are so welcoming. I honestly cannot fault anything. Also, the buildings are all
on one level, alleviating falls and trips due to having no steps or stairs.

Such a lovely place for Mum to be. Mum can be very difficult but the staff are all so lovely, caring and patient.

Mum enjoys the meals and is provided with lots of juice and cups of tea in her own mug.

You can see the residents are kept very clean and smart. Mum has fresh clothes on every day.

Visitors are welcome at any time apart from meal times so they are not distracted.

Everywhere is clean, tidy and fresh.

And lastly and most importantly we can take our dogs to see Mum.

enough for my friend (wife) to know. Its her i feel im looking after now and not her husband.

My husband went 2wks ago for respite has been very happy a n d settled quickly myself his wife feels redundant and missing him dreadfully when I said how do you feel about staying as I'm now finding it to hard to manage you at home he said as long as your OK I would love to stay here it's very peaceful
I don't need to come home as you can image for months of struggling to look after him I needn't have lost so many tears & heartache but pleased I'm only grieving for myself & not him .

Deanfield Care Home

from Alex M (Son of Resident) published on 14 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Even though I struggled with the thought of my mum going into a care home i was almost immediately put at ease when I saw the level of care provided by all staff, not just towards my mum, but all of the residents.
Her room is bright and with the addition of some of her personal belongings makes it
more homley for her.
Nothing seems to be too much for all members of staff who are always on hand to assist with the daily demands of a care home. My mum quickly made a friend and has become more outgoing and getting her hair done always cheers her up. Having a beauty room and small library, even though she doesn't use that, is a great addition for anyone who just need a quiet place to sit and read. Overall I am very pleased with the home as the three most important things to me is for her to be safe, happy, and have dignity and I genuenly feel Deanfield provide this

Norwood family are very caring and helpful. The cleanliness could be a bit better. The housekeeper did my mum's room today and what an excellent job she did. It's the best its been since my mum arrived. Came to the Bee Kind cafe and what an excellent job two staff members in particular done was absolutely
lovely.

During his stay he was loved and very well cared for. The staff were lovely, patient and very caring. The facilities were very pleasant with plenty of space and multiple seating areas. Resident rooms were nice with ample storage space and TV. Reluctantly had to move him, due to his Alzheimers becoming
more advanced. We would be very happy to recommend Netherton Green.

Hill View Care Home

Mum is treated with care & dignity. She has blossomed in Hill View as a result. She feels safe & cared for, which allows us to become family again as opposed to carers. The staff go out of their way to include us in all aspects of Mum's care & notify us promptly of any issues/concerns. The home feels
warm & friendly & all staff engage with Mum & ourselves. We are delighted with the move & it allows us to relax knowing Mum is so well cared for. We as a family are very grateful to all concerned. More activities would add to the overall experience.

Hammerwich Hall Care Home

from Lorraine M (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother has been a resident at Hammerwich Hall care home for around 9 months now and I am truly grateful for the wonderful care she's receiving. She has dementia, amongst many other health conditions, and needs a lot of support however, I have actually seen such an improvement in her health and well-being
since she's been here. Her mobility and appetite have improved, and the staff are incredibly caring and attentive. I can't thank them enough for the difference they've made to her life and ours.

Reply from Peter Bharj, Home Manager at Hammerwich Hall Care Home

Thank you so much for your kind words. We are always striving to improve. Our upcoming refurbishment will definitely improve the facilities on offer at the Home.

My Dad had a fall in May of this year and when he was discharged from the hospital he was transferred here to Bedford care home for rehabilitation and reading the reviews I was a bit hesitatant but wow he was in room 7 for nearly two months and the care he received was outstanding from all the seniors
carers and day and night right down to the Physiotherapist who was amazing and giving him the confidence and motivation to help him walk again he's been back at his own home now for the last month which he's doing remarkably well and I can't thank this Care home enough for all the support and caring they all given my Dad and infact he enjoyed this home so much he didn't want to leave so for us we are giving 5 stars because I wouldn't hesitate if he ever had to go back there so a big Thankyou to all those involved in his care it means so much.
Thankyou to five members of staff, in particular. On Day shift and the Night staff shift also the Physio you've all been amazing x

Hammerwich Hall Care Home

from Elizabeth H (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother has been in the facility since March 2024. Although physically well and mobile, she suffers from dementia and is now unable to live alone. The staff at Hammerwich are always smiling and welcoming, exactly the environment that my mother needs. Any phonecalls are answered promptly and the staff
always do their best to answer any questions quickly and efficiently. The recent appointment of the manager, has been wonderful! He is extremely passionate and enthusiastic about his role and encourages ideas and interaction between the home, residents and their families. The amount of activities has been increased and the residents are benefitting a lot. There are also plans to refurbish parts of the building, although it is a beautiful place already, elegant yet homely and the gardens are very nice. My mother used to love gardening and at Hammerwich she can continue the hobby she loved. Thank you to the staff at Hammerwich!

My mum has been so happy, enjoying new experiences that wouldn't have been available to her at home with her advancing dementia. It was good that she had a safe environment to be in with staff who cared. I would like to give a special shout out to three members of staff in particular, who were so good
at dealing with any problems that arose. Also, thank you to the activities coordinator for organising the various activities in the home.

When I first came here I was shown every amenity and service that is provided by friendly, helpful and respectful staff. How lucky we are to have Dad in Hammerwich Hall. It is such a pleasure to visit him whenever we want. Dad has settled in well, with the Manager and staff team being friendly and welcoming. Their communication is very good - Dad is well cared for and changes are made to accommodate his needs. The home
is well presented. It is clean and thoughtfully decorated for each event/theme day. There is a weekly programme of varied activities, in which visitors can also take part. Regular meetings take place with residents and relatives. All areas of care including catering, cleaning, laundry etc. are superb. My parents were given a lovely anniversary lunch recently, attention to detail on decoration of the tea room and the menu. Such special memories created. A lovely, quiet and rural location, we highly recommend Hammerwich Hall.
