Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Visited my mum, whilst there, the man who does the activities was there. He asked if anyone wanted and instrament as it was music time. He sang songs to which residents all joined in, which was good to see, my mum remembering the words to the songs. The man doing the activities was really good with
the residents, he was caring, encouraging and respectful to which they responded.

As a permanent resident of 3yrs+, Moms care has been excellent. Despite the ups and downs, and the current refurbishment, mom is very happy at Ryland View. She is treated with dignity and respect by the carers. She has had a number of health problems and hospital visits recently, but the medical, care
& help she's received has been of a high standard. Management has shown care and compassion and nothing is too much trouble. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Activities/entertainment is great, with singers & events regularly. Keep up the good work Ryland View!
Reply from Peter Bharj, Interim Home Manager at Ryland View Care HomeDear Chris. Thank you for your review. As ever, we are always here to offer help and support for all the residents at Ryland View. We are always working on ways to enhance the service we provide and have many more events planned for the rest of the year.

Longwood Grange Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum came into Longwood grange at the beginning of January full time due to not coping at home. Within a week I could see a difference. She became more alert and happy. She has put weight on too which was also a concern prior to her coming full time. She had previously had 3 respite stays and had enjoyed
her time at Longwood Grange so when it was decided for her to go into 24 hour care the only place would be at Longwood.
Adam and all the staff are always on hand if I have any queries about mum or anything else.
Reply from Adam Colbeck, Manager at Longwood Grange Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share such positive feedback about your mum's experience. We are delighted to hear that she has settled well, is feeling happier and more herself, and that you have seen such encouraging progress in her wellbeing. It means a great deal to know you feel confident in the care provided.

My mum has been a resident at Longwood Grange for nearly two years, and we couldn't be happier with the care she receives. The staff are kind, attentive, and always treat residents with dignity and warmth. The home is welcoming and well maintained, and there are plenty of activities to keep residents
engaged and happy. It gives our family great peace of mind knowing Mum is safe, comfortable, and so well looked after. We're very grateful to the whole team.
Reply from Paul Lawson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Longwood Grange Care HomeThank-you so much for your lovely review and for sharing your positive experience at Longwood Grange. On every occasion I have visited my Dad the staff have been pleasant and welcoming. My Dad seems very happy and has also made friends with other residents. Although sometimes we have experienced a bit of a wait to be let in, because staff are busy. They always ensure we have signed in. We cannot fault
the security of staff and residents at the home. My Dads room has always appeared clean and comfortable and odour free. We always get offered tea/coffee with a biscuit when we visit. The staff are always very friendly attentive and ready to answer any questions we have regarding our Dads health and well being. Personally, my family and i are very happy with the care my Dad is receiving.

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
I wrote a review just two weeks after mum went to live here and at that time I felt hopeful that the care would be good. How wrong I was !! Where do I start ? Some staff are lovely & caring but the home is understaffed, management do not respond to concerns, supervisors lie to you about your relative.
I have raised my concerns with the CQC & Social services. The communication is shocking. I found mums tablets on the floor of f her bedroom twice, she has had unwitnessed falls resulting in the last one breaking her hip in 3 places. Clothes & personal belongings go missing. Mum is now going to a lovely new home and if anyone wants to contact me please do:
Reply from Paul Lawson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Arncliffe Court Care HomeThank-you for your feedback which is vital to us as we strive to maintain the very best standards throughout. We apologise that your experience did not meet expectations and hope that your dear mum is doing well in her new home which offers the additional support she now requires. Through her time at Arncliffe we conducted several care reviews, in collaboration with the local authority, due to the changes in health and care needs. We identified the risk of falls and requested additional funding for one to one care which was unfortunately declined. Although we took steps to mitigate the risks, regretfully further falls took place. Due to the change in the category of care required, mum has now moved to a nursing home, as opposed to residential care at Arncliffe. We hope that she is doing well in her new surroundings and benefiting from the additional support. We again extend our utmost apologies. Lessons have been learned including ways to improve ongoing communication. Best wishes.

We chose Hammerwich because it feels like a home. Not the clinical, corporate look of many residences. The team are very supportive and are always available to speak to. It can be a hard transition for people to go from independence to relying on others but the Hammerwich team do understand and are
kind and patient during this time. The activities team work very hard and there is a good variety of things to do during the week. More therapy animals please! Looking forward to spring and the sunshine so Mum can enjoy the garden again.

Whilst I would not fill a review in as I am either to critical or to soft, from what I have seen the staff are firm but friendly with patients. Their is as with anywhere these a shortage of staff, and my pet hate is how long it takes staff to answer the door when visiting.

It's lovely to hear that you've found our staff to be both firm and friendly in their approach, as maintaining kindness alongside good care standards is very important to us.

I am very happy with the care that my husband has received so far from the nurses and care staff at Bedford (Beech House). His health and physical needs are always tended to and the doctor called recently and blood tests etc have done.
The room is always clean and tidy and his clothes always washed
and hanging in his wardrobe. All in all an excellent nursing home that is very suitable for my husbands needs!
