Woodstock

We are so pleased with the care provided, some carers in particular have developed such great relationship with my mum and always go the extra mile. I've not witnessed the activities myself but seen the schedule which seems good and so much better than just sitting residents in front of a tv screen. Working in healthcare I know how important this is for cognitive health and wellbeing. Mum really seems to enjoy the food on offer too

My mum went into Woodstock Home in March 2026 and the carers could not do enough for her to help her settle as she was quite anxious. They also keep in contact with me if she becomes unsettled at anytime so I can speak to her as I live quite a long way from the home so am unable to visit on a regular basis. When visiting I have noticed that the carers do an amazing job looking after the residents knowing and understanding each individual's needs.

Residents are treated with dignity and encouraged to feel comfortable in their surroundings .

My mum has been at Woodstock for over a year now and is very happy there. She is wonderfully looked after. The staff are wonderful too. She enjoys the entertainment too. She enjoys having her meals prepared for her and going to eat in the dining room. She is always clean and dressed lovely. She is given regular showers and has her hair cut styled by a hairdresser. She has her nails done by the staff too and loves the nail polish. A man comes and does her feet and toenails cut too.

I am kept fully up to date of any on going issues with his health. Able to contact him to speak in person so I can hear how he is feeling and I know from my visits he is well looked after and has help always on hand. Everything is always spotlessly clean and there are no lingering odours that you might associate with the care of elderly people who may have complex health issues. Food and drink is always available and I'm always offered a cup of tea or coffee when I visit and my son in law enjoys his food. There is always an upbeat atmosphere whenever I visit and he is always treated with respect and as a human being which brings out his comical side and having lived with vascular dementia for numerous years he is treated as a valued member of the community.

I couldn't recommend this home more.

The resident I have Power of Attorney for has improved in several ways since moving to Woodstock. She is always clean, well dressed and has become more talkative and with less signs of dementia. She tells me that she is warm, feels safe and cared for, that she likes her room and is comfortable there. She is eating well and often praises the staff who care for her.

Firstly the location of care home is in the beautiful village of Gressenhall. The Home itself is not that big maybe 50 rooms. My friend Valerie who is a resident has a lovely spacious room with easy access to the homes facilities and court yard garden. I have always found the staff to be caring and understanding and always time to listen. From what I've seen the food is very good and appetising. They also have a hairdresser and chiropodist every 2 weeks. If your able to take the resident out then the Village pub is opposite. They also answer the phone Quickly. I think my resident Valerie couldn't ask for more. Its difficult when they need care, but I know she is safe and looked after. The cost of care is expensive but I believe Woodstock to be on the lower end of the scale.

On every occasion I have visited my Dad the staff have been pleasant and welcoming. My Dad seems very happy and has also made friends with other residents. Although sometimes we have experienced a bit of a wait to be let in, because staff are busy. They always ensure we have signed in. We cannot fault the security of staff and residents at the home. My Dads room has always appeared clean and comfortable and odour free. We always get offered tea/coffee with a biscuit when we visit. The staff are always very friendly attentive and ready to answer any questions we have regarding our Dads health and well being. Personally, my family and i are very happy with the care my Dad is receiving.

I like to see my wife as often as I can, and always greeted with a friendly smile by staff. Very impressed, always spotlessly clean. My daughter and myself are pleased with the way she is cared for, and my wife says she'd happy living there. The food is very nice. We think it's a care home to be proud of. with excellent management in a pretty well kept location.

We are more than happy with mums care

My step dad is in your care. I visited today with my mum. I work in a care home myself and was surprised that there was no receptionist to greet us. Nobody asked us to sign in so that you knew we were in the building in the event of a fire. It was afternoon tea time when we arrived. The tea and coffee looked horrible. My step dad was dressed in a dirty top. His glasses case was on the window cill with no glasses in them so who knows where they are! The care staff just said they've probably ended up in the laundry as that happens all the time! Not good enough. His room smelt of urine and the bed was unmade. The home wasn't very welcoming at all and needs a good refurb. There is was also a fire door wedged open, how do you practice fire evacuation? I spoke to a few residents who seemed happy but sometimes it's just the little things parking bad as well. Dining room in darkness not very welcoming. No menus on display showing what they were having to eat today.

it is quite expensive, how ever i am pleased dad is there thank you for every thing you do guys i really appreciate it

Both my uncle and auntie are resident at Woodstock. I only am able to visit weekends, so I do not get to see the managerial and admin staff. I do see the day care staff and I am pleased to say they are always happy and attentive, and always offer me a cup of tea! Food is plentiful and of good quality. It's nice to see that efforts are made to keep the residents entertained with various activities in particular the pet visits always bring joy, I see lots of smiley faces in the photo's.

As the niece of residents at Woodstock Care Home, I've been really pleased with the level of care and attention provided. The staff are consistently kind, professional, and genuinely caring, which gives our family great peace of mind. What stands out most is the variety of activities available to residents. There's always something going on to keep them engaged, active, and social - from creative sessions to group games and events. It's wonderful to see my aunt and uncle involved and enjoying themselves in such a supportive environment. I would definitely recommend Woodstock Care Home to other families looking for a safe, warm, and engaging place for their loved ones.

From a Relatives point of view it means that I can rest easy in the knowledge that they are being cared for as if they were the Carers own Relatives it is very comforting. So a big thankyou to everyone you have made my life a lot easier.

Mum has been at Woodstock for nearly a year now with advanced Alzheimer's, it's awful watching her disappear. The staff are very caring, so I feel Mum is really well looked after and treated with respect. They all know her well and show affection for her, which is very comforting. What a very difficult and skilled job they have, caring for people with dementia, but they do it well, and with a smile.

My father has been a resident at Woodstock since April. From my experience, the staff have been really supportive to my mother and I. They helped my father settle in and kept me informed. They have been good in understanding the difficulties in moving from self-funded to financial support from NCC. The building does look dated but is kept clean. Rooms are the same, dated but clean. I cannot comment or the food not having tried it myself. Security is OK for residents. The chances of a resident working out the door code is low. I would prefer to see a swipe card and pin code system mitigate against this risk.

My ratings for Woodstock are based on my experience of fortnightly visits. I have virtually no contact with management, hence my one star rating.
