In general the home is satisfactory but needs modernising and gardens need more attention. The front of the building is very difficult for parking when visiting. There has been a new manager for a while and small changes have been noticed for the better. Still not enough carers when my aunt pushes her buzzer for help, can be over 30 minutes before a carer comes which is not satisfactory as she cannot weight bear and has been occasionally forgotten for her meals.

Reply from Paul Lawson, National Sales Manager at Woodstock

Thank you very much for your feedback and for recognising some recent improvements implemented by the Home Manager. We do apologise if you sometimes have difficulty parking. We are currently cutting back some bushes in our small car park to create more space for visitors so hopefully this will help...

Very happy to find a home that my mother is happy in. She is very much 'at home' and comfortable, especially with the standard of care and attention she receives from the wonderful staff at Woodstock. I have nothing but praise for them in every respect.

Having visited my friend many times, there has not been any occasion when all the staff have not shown dedication and kindness to all the residents even, on occasion, under difficult circumstances. The activities are planned to be inclusive and interesting for all and each resident is given an opportunity to decline, participate or watch, thus allowing everyone a chance to have life-enhancing experiences and things to look forward to on a daily basis. There is always a feeling of positivity in the home and most importantly each day brings something to live for. Thank you to all the dedicated staff.

My mum was discharged to Woodstock in February 2024 from hospital, following the early stage of a late-onset Dementia diagnosis.
During Mum's short 6 week stay, she was treated with the utmost respect by all the team at Woodstock, in a friendly caring environment. The caring staff went above and beyond with Mum's needs, and also for our visits.
Woodstock provides a clean environment with excellent food, all freshly prepared on-site to cater for every taste. Mum had her own room, with en-suite facilities, personal items and furniture welcomed.
Lots of activities were available, regular and well organised to involve all those who wished to join in. Singers, live bands, and amazing animal visits that Mum enjoyed so much.
Woodstock always kept us informed and updated on Mum's situation as she settled into new surroundings.

We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all at Woodstock, truly a great team of caring and compassionate people.

My mother has been at Woodstock since August 2021. The staff have been absolutely amazing in the care they give to my mum. Mum has ongoing health needs and the staff have gone above the call of duty to help her at all times. I can’t praise the staff enough for all the activities they have throughout the year. Mum has been very happy since she moved into the home. It’s a huge relief to know that mum is being taken care of by kind and professional staff.

Thank you so much.

My mum was discharged to Woodstock from hospital after breaking her hip earlier this year. She was welcomed by the very warm and caring staff there who never failed to impress me with their kindness. The home is always clean, the food is excellent plenty and of it. The staff are quick to get medical attention if needed and always keep me informed. I am always welcomed when visiting and get regular updates on how mum is. Mum's dementia coupled with her sometimes quite severe anxiety can be distressing for her but the lovely staff are always there for her with their kindness and care to alleviate her worries. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they are just a wonderful group of dedicated caters. Mum enjoys the activities and loves to see dogs when they visit. She always tells me how she loves the staff and how kind they are. Thank you Woodstock Care Home.

Placing your family member into a care home is one of the hardest of decisions.
I called on Woodstock's services initially to take Mum as a day service every other week. As Mum has late-onset dementia they also provided respite care when we went on holiday. Mum's needs then became more than could be offered in her own home, the staff at Woodstock came to the rescue and welcomed my mum as a resident. When Mum closed that door on her home for the last time, my heart was in pieces. Then I pulled up in my car outside Woodstock to be greeted by a member of staff almost running to the car saying “we have really missed you” I knew then that I had made the right choice and done best by my mum.
I am sure that particular member of staff and all the staff at Woodstock may not truly understand how much their genuine care and that greeting on that day meant to me. Since being at Woodstock the care Mum has and is receiving is outstanding. Woodstock staff go above and beyond.

Thank you to all.

Small ideally situated care home. Very well trained staff who truly care for all the residents. Clean and nicely decorated throughout, a nice atmosphere and great attention paid to individuals' needs and wants. I visit regularly and am always made to feel welcome, it has become a home from home for me as well as a home for dad. The food is good and plentiful, the only criticism I'd have is they need more staff but we all know about shortages across the sector in the UK. Well done to all the staff at Woodstock, and thank you.

My mother has been at Woodstock for over a year now and has settled in very well. Since she has been there it has been difficult at times for visiting because of Covid-19, but the staff have been very helpful and kept me well informed of the situation.
I haven’t been there at mealtimes but often the food smells very nice and Mum says she enjoys it. Plenty of cups of tea and coffee.
The home always smells nice and fresh, (no bad odours) which is pleasant when visiting.
They have activities each day of which Mum enjoys singing the most. Because of Covid, they haven’t been able to have people come into the home to entertain the residents very much but I know they will as soon as they can because before Covid they had regular entertainment from outside the home.

As for Mum’s personal needs, she is always clean and fresh, with clean clothes on each day. The carers are very attentive and cheerful and all seem happy in their work.

Have just been to see my friend who has been in Woodstock now for almost four years. In that time his needs have changed quite significantly but Woodstock is meeting his new needs to a high standard.
It has been very difficult not seeing him through the pandemic but the staff have facilitated visits to the best of their abilities and are always very helpful with updates when you phone them. Most of the staff have been there as long as my friend has and we know each other by name, which is a testament to the home as staff turnover is low.
I would say that when I visit my friend is always comfortable, clean and appears well looked after. He has had regular podiatry visits throughout Covid, although he did look like Einstein for a while until he got his hair cut!

I know he is well fed as we always talk about how much he enjoyed his cooked breakfast and have a guess at what is for lunch.

Despite my brother not being the easiest to care for owing to his late-stage vascular dementia, he was shown the utmost kindness and thoughtfulness by all the staff. Everyone at Woodstock offered us help and support at all times during this upsetting and distressing time. Their care and kindness will be long remembered.

My husband was suffering from Type 2 Diabetes and Vascular Dementia. When he was discharged from hospital to Woodstock on 19th October 17 he was going through a very difficult violent stage but everyone at Woodstock treated him with the utmost compassion and gave him excellent care. I spent many hours every day with my husband and I and other family and friends were given help and kindness at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend Woodstock to anyone who needed care.

I am able to comment on standards having occasion to move my wife from another care home. Woodstock is an outstanding home. They are proactive rather than reactive. If my wife has any health issues they will obtain medical support at a very early stage. The management team set very high standards and monitor them so care staff are aware and conform.

The care staff are excellent interacting with residents and genuinely care for their well-being.

We are forever grateful for the excellent care everyone gives to our mum. The staff are personable, approachable, friendly and most importantly, kind. I know I can totally trust them all with my mums care and I thank you for that.

I would also like to say thanks to the seniors who are very proactive when we ask for anything to be done eg. the GP visits. It is done straight away - well done.

This care home is a breath of fresh air. My wife and I visit every week and have found the level of care second to none.

We always find the staff show total respect to all residents, their patience is never ending. We visited many care homes before opting for this one and have never at any point regretted placing my Mother-in-Law within. The food is appetising and plentiful, the rooms comfortable and airy. All in all the home is a glowing example to care homes.
