My mother has been at Woodstock for over a year now and has settled in very well. Since she has been there it has been difficult at times for visiting because of Covid-19, but the staff have been very helpful and kept me well informed of the situation.
I haven’t been there at mealtimes but often the
food smells very nice and Mum says she enjoys it. Plenty of cups of tea and coffee.
The home always smells nice and fresh, (no bad odours) which is pleasant when visiting.
They have activities each day of which Mum enjoys singing the most. Because of Covid, they haven’t been able to have people come into the home to entertain the residents very much but I know they will as soon as they can because before Covid they had regular entertainment from outside the home.
As for Mum’s personal needs, she is always clean and fresh, with clean clothes on each day. The carers are very attentive and cheerful and all seem happy in their work.
Reply from David Martins, National Sales Manager at WoodstockThank you for your kind review of Woodstock Care Home. We are delighted your mother is happy, that she enjoys the activities and the plenty of tea and coffee on offer. I will ensure the team are aware of the feedback.

Have just been to see my friend who has been in Woodstock now for almost four years. In that time his needs have changed quite significantly but Woodstock is meeting his new needs to a high standard.
It has been very difficult not seeing him through the pandemic but the staff have facilitated visits
to the best of their abilities and are always very helpful with updates when you phone them. Most of the staff have been there as long as my friend has and we know each other by name, which is a testament to the home as staff turnover is low.
I would say that when I visit my friend is always comfortable, clean and appears well looked after. He has had regular podiatry visits throughout Covid, although he did look like Einstein for a while until he got his hair cut!
I know he is well fed as we always talk about how much he enjoyed his cooked breakfast and have a guess at what is for lunch.

Despite my brother not being the easiest to care for owing to his late-stage vascular dementia, he was shown the utmost kindness and thoughtfulness by all the staff. Everyone at Woodstock offered us help and support at all times during this upsetting and distressing time. Their care and kindness will
be long remembered.

My husband was suffering from Type 2 Diabetes and Vascular Dementia. When he was discharged from hospital to Woodstock on 19th October 17 he was going through a very difficult violent stage but everyone at Woodstock treated him with the utmost compassion and gave him excellent care. I spent many hours
every day with my husband and I and other family and friends were given help and kindness at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend Woodstock to anyone who needed care.

I am able to comment on standards having occasion to move my wife from another care home. Woodstock is an outstanding home. They are proactive rather than reactive. If my wife has any health issues they will obtain medical support at a very early stage. The management team set very high standards and
monitor them so care staff are aware and conform.

The care staff are excellent interacting with residents and genuinely care for their well-being.

We are forever grateful for the excellent care everyone gives to our mum. The staff are personable, approachable, friendly and most importantly, kind. I know I can totally trust them all with my mums care and I thank you for that.

I would also like to say thanks to the seniors who are very proactive

when we ask for anything to be done eg. the GP visits. It is done straight away - well done.

This care home is a breath of fresh air. My wife and I visit every week and have found the level of care second to none.

We always find the staff show total respect to all residents, their patience is never ending. We visited many care homes before opting for this one and have never at any point

regretted placing my Mother-in-Law within. The food is appetising and plentiful, the rooms comfortable and airy. All in all the home is a glowing example to care homes.

My mother died in Woodstock recently after living there for seven years. Their care was second to none and we were greatly comforted by the genuine love and tenderness shown to her by the staff. At such a sad time it meant so much to know that when we were not with her she was with friends.

The home provides a fair standard of food. It is warm, clean and inviting, most bedrooms are ensuite. Staff are kind and know the residents on a first name basis. If I have any queries, I feel able to express my views with management.

I spent three years making regular visits to see my wife at Woodstock care home. I looked forward to every visit and as her dementia moved through different stages the staff would always be on hand to update me and give any support and advice I required. My wife had in her way three happy years there
and I always came away knowing she was in the best place and getting the very best care possible. God bless them all.

My mother has been at Woodstock for 2 years, maybe a little more, and I find the place a very welcoming and warm place for my mother to be. She has lovely staff members looking after her and they always greet me with a friendly smile, and we are welcome to call when we like. I know from experience that
not all homes are as good, so all in all I'm very satisfied that my mother is getting the best care possible.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.123)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.123) out of 10 for Woodstock is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.273 for Woodstock is calculated as follows: ( (101 Excellents x 5) + (51 Goods x 4) + (18 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (7 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 183 Ratings = 4.273
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodstock is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
