My wife has been a resident at Longwood Grange since July 2024 and since the very start she has been shown lots of genuine care and attention from the staff, the staff also make the the relatives and visitors welcome as well. There are regular activities and they also also put on parties at the key
celebratory times of year and in the summer. The rooms are calming and comfortable and meals filling and nourishing. The Manager is very open to talking to relatives and hearing feedback/concerns which he addresses. Overall I feel my wife is well cared for at this home.
Reply from Paul Lawson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Longwood Grange Care HomeThank-you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted that your dear wife is so settled and content and grateful that you have taken the time to share your positive experience. Best wishes.

During February the nursing home had a spell of colds and chest infection. The care that was taken of the residents was over and above. The doctor was called regularly and kept on top of treatment. The home was kept very clean as always. I was very happy with the care of my father. When he want very
strong they fed him, on top of all other jobs.
Reply from Paul Lawson, Head of Sales and Marketing at West Ridings Care HomeThank-you very much for your positive feedback. The winter bugs, although not always unexpected, kept the team on their toes and we are grateful that this period has now passed and look forward to the brighter weather and getting outdoors regularly again. Best wishes.

Mum came into Longwood grange at the beginning of January full time due to not coping at home. Within a week I could see a difference. She became more alert and happy. She has put weight on too which was also a concern prior to her coming full time. She had previously had 3 respite stays and had enjoyed
her time at Longwood Grange so when it was decided for her to go into 24 hour care the only place would be at Longwood.
Adam and all the staff are always on hand if I have any queries about mum or anything else.

My mum has been a resident at Longwood Grange for nearly two years, and we couldn't be happier with the care she receives. The staff are kind, attentive, and always treat residents with dignity and warmth. The home is welcoming and well maintained, and there are plenty of activities to keep residents
engaged and happy. It gives our family great peace of mind knowing Mum is safe, comfortable, and so well looked after. We're very grateful to the whole team.

Our dad has been in the home for five months now and he's settled in smashing.
The manager is a lovely man who's very approachable and makes himself available to listen and discuss and keeps us well informed at all times.
He and his team are wonderful a great asset. They all show care, respect, compassion
and dignity at all times along with a lovely sense of humor and fun, which dad appreciates greatly having a good sense of humor himself.
Dad's engaging in various activities with his friends and staff which is stimulating and enjoyable.
The management/staff organize lots of themed events and parties, we've had singers, bands and various entertainers appearing, and always with food and drinks. Family and friends are always made very welcome.
Dad's recently had a birthday and we were able to celebrate privately as a family in the cinema room at the home which was lovely.
Thank you very much that was greatly appreciated by all his family.
You are all wonderful!
Thank you very much.
Reply from Adam Colbeck, Manager at Longwood Grange Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share such a kind and thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your father has settled in so well and feels supported, comfortable, and happy in our home.

Your kind words will be shared with the team and are greatly appreciated. Thank you again for your trust and support.

My dad went into Roberttown care home as a desperate measure due to his dementia and him wandering on a night. They have been amazing with him and with us. He has settled in really well and that is a lot down to the staff there. The activities they organise are very frequent and he gets much pleasure
from them. He even dressed up as Santa at their Christmas party and was dancing with the staff. The staff are so friendly and remember your name and ask how we are doing, they care about us too. The home did need improvements when he first went into but they are altering things for the better already. We have just found out my dad can stay there permanently now and we couldn't be happier for him to spend the rest of his life at Roberttown Care Home.

Overall a decent experience, mum has been generally well looked after.

Staff are very good and interested in residents families however there does seem to be more agency staff than when mum arrived. This can lead to a lack of continuity in knowledge about residents needs, especially if there are medical

issues ongoing.

We have noticed that staff spend a lot of time on their phones, even when there are jobs to be done, eg clearing the tables after meals, residents waiting for the bathroom etc. It doesn't give a good impression.

The food and accommodation are very good and we genuinely feel that mum is well cared for. Thank you.

Reply from Paul Lawson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Roberttown Care Home LtdThank-you very much for your review and feedback. We are delighted to hear that you and the family feel that your dear mum is being well cared for. We acknowledge that we sometimes use agency staff to cover sickness and holidays but as part of our recent recruitment drive this is reducing considerably and we will continue this until we are using zero hours agency for all roles. That said, when we do utilise agency staff we do our utmost to bring in colleagues who know the care home and the residents because have already spent time with us. The staff are not permitted mobile phones whilst on duty, however as part of their role they are all required to use PCS (Person-centred software) handheld devices to record resident's personal care, daily interactions, food and fluid intakes. These devices look exactly the same as a mobile phone and you will see all staff using them. Best wishes

My mum moved into Woodfield Grange on the 1st August 2024. Her prognosis was that she was on end-of-life care and would only have several weeks or a couple of months at the most. In fact, my mum surprised us all by living for another year. In all that time the staff at the home did a brilliant job of
caring for my mum as she slowly declined in the last year of her life. When my mum expressed any anxiety or worry the staff - whether they were her day-to-day carers, kitchen staff or admin - always did their level best to ensure that my mum was as comfortable and relaxed as she could possibly be. She felt safe and secure and was able to form new and trusting relationships with all the staff who became her carers. This was a great help to me psychologically: allowing me some space to return to a more normal daily life, in the secure knowledge that my mum was being cared for twenty four hours a day.
Reply from Paul Lawson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Woodfield Grange Nursing HomeThank-you so much for your review and on behalf of us all we extend our ongoing condolences for the loss of your dear mum. We were honoured to play a part in the twilight of her wonderful life and are delighted that we were able to reassure you that she was being well cared for by the team at Woodfield. Sending our very best wishes to you and the family.

This is a very professionally managed caring residential home. My Aunt, for whom I am primary carer for, is happy and settled there. She receives social stimulation, is properly cared for and has adequate facilities given the limitations of the building. Her medical needs are will met, her day to day
living is appropriately supported and I have experienced an understanding and caring for her varied needs. The Manager is kind and engaging and responds to any issues promptly I sense that overall there is a positive culture under his leadership. There is attention to matters of quality and reasonable levels of consultation with friends and relatives. The physical environment of the home has also been upgraded over the last year. Residents enjoy stimulation in a group setting eg music events but also personally supported trips out. The home also provides a positive environment in different settings for regular visits.

My husband was initially in respite care in Woodfield Grange but due to my illness he has now moved there permanently. The Staff are friendly and supportive both initially and during the transition. There was been some confusion around medication but this has now been resolved. They have even arranged
for a new sight test and two new pairs of glasses. Activities co-ordinator has even encouraged my husband to start to participate in the games, activities, events that are held each week. Relative meetings held regularly are informative and take into account any ideas or concerns that are raised.
