The love, care and dedication to relative patients at Golfhill nursing home goes beyond excellent. My friend has been ill recently and wasn't eating. The staff went above and beyond to provide bespoke meals to encourage her to eat. The effort extended by every member of staff was outstanding thanks

Since I started visiting in December 2025, I have been impressed with all members of staff connected with looking after my partner as I was in hospital for two weeks that she had been in attendance at Craigbank. The staff and other people up visiting their friends, it seems a nice family orientated
care home and I myself have got to know the other visitors very well and on a name to name basis. As I go up 4 times a week, even I enjoy going up to visit my partner now, as its not just a home but a family type home.

The staff truly made my mum feel like she was in her own home. The attention and love shown to her was above and beyond. She celebrated her birthday with family and friends and they went out their way to make it extra special. Also, decorating her room for her during a spell in hospital.
Our family
will be forever grateful for the care and attention our mum received from not only all the care/nursing staff but also the activities/laundrette/domestic/catering and maintenance staff, they all treated her with respect and dignity no matter what she was up to and believe me she could give out abuse but they took it in their stride and were always able to distract and motivate her.
Reply from Paul Lawson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Craigbank Care HomeThank-you so much for your very kind words and we extend our love and best wishes to you and all of the family.

Mum spent an assessment period of 4 weeks in this care home before confirmation of a permanent placement. We found this care home to be welcoming, cozy and friendly, with staff very experienced and knowledgeable in caring for a loved one with progressing dementia from the manager down to all other staff.
Staff are always visible and interacting with residents. We have been kept updated and involved in decision making with mum's best interests at the centre of everything. A weight has been lifted from our shoulders knowing that our mum's needs are being met fully. Thank you.
Reply from Claribel Durairaj, Home Manager at Craigbank Care HomeThank you for the lovely comments and you can be assured that good standard care will continue for your mum .

We cannot thank everyone at Craigbank Nursing Home enough for the care, compassion, and dignity they showed our Aunt during her final weeks.
Although her stay was only three weeks, the kindness and professionalism of the entire team made the transition into care much easier for both her and our family.
She was treated with dignity and respect at all times, and it was clear she was receiving high quality person centred care.
Staff were always approachable, understanding, reassuring and most importantly, truly cared about the well-being and happiness of all the residents.
We take great comfort in knowing her final days were spent in a peaceful and caring environment being cared for by exceptional care staff.
Thank you to the whole team, especially the depute manager, who took the time to show us around the care home last thing on a Friday without us having booked an appointment.
Thank you to everyone for giving our Aunt dignity, comfort and kindness when it mattered most.
Reply from Claribel Durairaj, Home Manager at Craigbank Care HomeThank you for the lovely comments and good to know that you were supported from the start till the end of your aunt's stay at Craigbank.

My mother has been a resident at Golfhill for 7 weeks now, and the transformation has been incredible. She is absolutely flourishing. The entire team-from the nurses and carers to the senior management like Santoshi and Stacey-has been exceptional. They are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and consistently
go the extra mile.
A major highlight is their effort to communicate with my mother in her native language; for a resident with Stage 1 Dementia, this has been a massive plus for her comfort and dignity. While this home wasn't my first choice initially, it is a true "hidden gem." My mother's wellbeing has improved significantly compared to her time in hospital. 1st class service.
Reply from Stacey Blackburn, Home Manager at Golfhill Care HomeThank you for these kind words, we are very glad your Mum has notably improved she is a lovely new addition to our home. Stacey

The excellent overall care given to my sister has meant so very much to all of her family. She has benefited from the work of a pleasant, considerate, and capable staff. I have appreciated the honesty of the staff in my dealings with them and have learned much in the process.
I found the costs to
be fair. As comfortable as the home is, not all services are of a 'five-star' nature. 3 or 4 often does just as well. Recent additions to the landscaping have been a lovely bonus for all.
The best thing for me was seeing my sister's physical and mental health improve markedly. One matter I would like to highlight is her personal cleanliness. Though an essential part of a resident's care, there are days for any adult when it can take a bit of persuasion. In this case, the necessary persuasion was given with kindness and a deal of tolerance. I am very satisfied with the care my sister is receiving.
Reply from Stacey Blackburn, Home Manager at Golfhill Care HomeThanks for your kind review, feedback is always appreciated and your sister is an absolute pleasure to have with us. Kind Regards Stacey

My dad moved in to Deanfield on Wednesday 3rd December.
It was no longer safe for my dad to remain at home due to his dementia. A weight has lifted off me since the day my dad moved in.
Due to my physical disability and chronic pain I couldn't support my dad full time.
The home is safe and secure
and my dad is well cared for. He has a lovely room and a view of the garden. The home provides a great menu and my dad has a cooked breakfast every morning.
His room is always clean and tidy and my dad is always dressed well when I visit.
I can't thank the staff enough for the care and support they provide.

Our Dad was a resident in Deanfield Care Home for 8 weeks following a prolonged hospital admission where it was decided that he could no longer safely live at home. At the time of his discharge there was no availability in any of the care homes within our local area therefore we were asked to consider
homes further away.
We had no prior knowledge of Deanfield before our Dad moved there but we could tell that it was a warm, happy home from the moment we first visited.
Every member of staff we encountered during our Dad's stay including management, admin, estates and laundry were very friendly.
The care staff were always so cheerful, kind and compassionate towards our Dad and the other residents. We absolutely appreciate how challenging their jobs can be and really can't thank them enough for looking after our Dad (and us) so well.
We recently moved our Dad from Deanfield to be closer to us but would not have done so if we lived nearby as the home and it's staff were wonderful.

The staff in the home are just fantastic. I can't speak highly enough of them, they are so caring and cheerful. The unit my mum is in is also very wll-staffed in terms of numbers and this is critical to the care provided.
The rooms are basic and could do with renovating but on balance ai would rather
trade this for the staff.

My dad arrived at Deanfield following a serious fall (broken hip) and a prolonged stay in hospital. In addition he has (and continues to deal with) other significant health conditions. His condition in just a few weeks has improved significantly. He is looked after by a kind and caring ream who are
clearly committed to ensuring all care needs are met with attention and profesisonalism. More importantly me, and my mum (who visits daily), are treated with dignity and respect and they are able to share meaningful time together. This is priceless to me.
Reply from Paul Lawson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Deanfield Care HomeThank-you so much for your lovely review. We are thrilled that your dear dad is enjoying living at Deanfield and that you are so pleased with the care that he receives. Best wishes.
