Haydale welcomes nursing, convalescence and palliative care needs, as well as offering care for complex forms of dementia and help for adults with a learning disability. Long and short term care needs are catered for.

Located close to the centre of Glasgow, this modern care facility consists of three houses, each offering different levels of care within comfortable surroundings. Bedrooms provide single accommodation with a 24 hour call system and views of the pretty gardens.

There is a keen focus on residents’ nutrition, personal preferences are taken on-board and homemade cake enjoyed on birthdays.

Many activities and hobbies are embraced by residents and the friendly care team, including smoothie making and gardening, while the Wii proves to be a very popular pastime.

My mum has been in this facility for a while and i think it's great the staff are excellent with the residents very helpful and friendly and professional the events team are great they do a lot with the residents to keep them busy during the day and keep everyone updated on social media with photos
the management are very friendly and helpful aswell they answer any questions you have promptly.

Hi My mum has been in Dunlop Unit for over three years. Mum has received amazing care from the staff in there. Dayshift and nightshift staff take care of her every need and have a brilliant bond with her. Mum has fallen a few times, as she tends to walk without her zimmer at times. Staff are quick to
respond and notify me as soon as possible. Staff are approachable and make my mum feel part of the Haydale family. Nothing is a bother for them.

Mum has been a resident for a few months. We looked at several places for her, Haydale was the one that just felt right, it had a pleasing ambience, there was a calmness, staff were happy and engaging with the residents. Over the past couple of months mum has had some challenges which the staff have
dealt with professionally, carefully and with the utmost respect for her needs. When I visit I am always amazed that the staff will take the time to tell me how mum has been and if there have been any issues. When you have worried about someone for so long it is a huge relief to know that 24hours a day the care is consistent and meaningful. Nothing ever seems to be too much of a problem for staff. The activities programme and the social media updates are fantastic providing genuine engagement for the residents. The management and maintenance of the property is excellent and of a high standard.

My sister is a resident and has been for almost a year the staff are very attentive to her needs and respond quickly if they feel she is unwell the nurses always check her over and seek GP assistance if necessary. There are lots of activities and every occasion is celebrated and she is included whenever
possible. The maintenance is excellent and we were able to have her room freshly decorated by the maintenance man which has made her room more personal. The staff know her very well and she is very comfortable in their care.

Sister-in-law moved into care home this year and due to the caring staff she settled in well and nothing was a bother to them. They supported her with any tasks and very quickly she trusted them with her personal care. They were quick to notice any issues and deal with them. Staff make her feel safe
and secure and welcome all her visitors. They include and interact with her in all activities.

Fall due to a carer hitting a bump in the shower room where Mum was tipped onto the floor causing injuries and had to go to A&E. Falls due to being in a pitch dark bedroom with no light on during the night. Just found out recently. Minimum £100 each time the carer escorts Mum to the hospital. Complaints
are not always taken on board. On the advice of GP to phone an ambulance, until I phoned GP, a delay in phoning an ambulance of a couple of hours. Whatever you want to take from this.

I can't highlight how Haydale is such a great home. The staff are so nice and treat the residents like they are part of their family. The activities they run and organize are amazing. They have a social media page where all events upcoming are posted and also update when the events happen. I'm so glad

My daughter's room got flooded in the middle of the night through no fault of her own and because they apparently didn’t have another room for her I’ve had to bring her home to my house with nothing in place. No hoist or hospital bed. She is only 31 with Rett syndrome, she has no speech and doesn’t
walk so her needs are quite complex. She is now stuck on the sofa until the morning because I can’t move her on my own. Absolutely shocking. The management doesn’t want to take responsibility for any of this. I honestly cannot fault the staff because they are brilliant and really are doing their best but so overworked as never enough staff. The place is falling to bits with wind howling through gaps in window frames and just overall scruffy looking. I have plenty of other complaints but they will be going to the appropriate people. Advise visit as often as you can and keep your eyes wide open. All down to poor management as staff was great and very sad because it could be once again a great wee home.

Generally very pleased with Mum's care, the staff in the main are lovely, her room is too.
However have noted recently, particularly at weekends, far fewer staff on duty and overall cleanliness of room, communal corridors, etc. has slipped a little.

My cousin spent the last three years of his life in Sunnyside, the learning disability unit in Haydale Care Home. He was very happy and settled there and received a very high standard of loving care from a great team. He enjoyed various activities provided by the activities coordinator when he was able.
The staff provided personalised care tailored to his needs. The unit manager and her team worked to a high standard. If a problem arose they were always prompt in phoning me to discuss the action plan. I had peace of mind and felt very reassured that my cousin was receiving the best possible care.


I cant praise the staff enough for the excellent end of life care they provided for my cousin. Also for their compassion and support to the family.

I believe my sister is looked after to a high standard. The staff are on the ball with her care spotting issues quickly and taking the appropriate action.

My sister is a resident at Haydale Care Home and I cannot praise the staff and the care she receives enough. They know her as an individual, tailoring her care and activities to her preferences and needs. Staff seem to have a real love for, and sound knowledge of, caring for people with learning disabilities.
The care she receives is excellent and the communication with me as her guardian is always timely and clear.

As the Wellbeing Coordinator, I bring a person-centred approach to everything I do. I take the time to really get to know each resident — understanding what makes them smile, what brings them comfort, and what sparks joy in their day.


Our residents enjoy a wide variety of activities and are always eager to get involved, whether it’s group sessions, creative projects, or simply sharing good company.


Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, socialising, and going to the cinema.

I’ve been part of the Haydale Care Home team since 10/10/10, starting as a Care Assistant before moving into my current role as Wellbeing Coordinator in 2011.


I bring creativity, empathy, and imagination to everything I do. I’m a good communicator and pride myself on being friendly and approachable. With strong person-centred values, I focus on building meaningful relationships and genuine friendships with our residents.


Some of the activities that work particularly well here include Rem-a-sing — singing with purpose to spark memories and connection — and Welcome to the Week, which gives everyone a chance to share how they’re feeling and what’s happening in the home. Our creative arts sessions are also a favourite, and I’m proud that our artwork recently won a competition! I also enjoy creating personalised colouring sheets that help residents feel emotionally connected and focused.


Outside of work, I enjoy listening to podcasts, going to concerts, and spending quality time with my family at our caravan.
