Haydale is very clean and welcoming, the staff are very considerate and extremely helpful at a time when it is a difficult time when your loved ones has got to into care. When I have had concerns it had been dealt with in a kind manner.

Haydale is a lovely comfortable home from home. Staff are lovely friendly and approachable. The entertainment team do an amazing job and interaction with residents are great to keep residents active and happy.

Mum has been a resident for a few months. We looked at several places for her, Haydale was the one that just felt right, it had a pleasing ambience, there was a calmness, staff were happy and engaging with the residents. Over the past couple of months mum has had some challenges which the staff have dealt with professionally, carefully and with the utmost respect for her needs. When I visit I am always amazed that the staff will take the time to tell me how mum has been and if there have been any issues. When you have worried about someone for so long it is a huge relief to know that 24hours a day the care is consistent and meaningful. Nothing ever seems to be too much of a problem for staff. The activities programme and the social media updates are fantastic providing genuine engagement for the residents. The management and maintenance of the property is excellent and of a high standard.

My sister is a resident and has been for almost a year the staff are very attentive to her needs and respond quickly if they feel she is unwell the nurses always check her over and seek GP assistance if necessary. There are lots of activities and every occasion is celebrated and she is included whenever possible. The maintenance is excellent and we were able to have her room freshly decorated by the maintenance man which has made her room more personal. The staff know her very well and she is very comfortable in their care.

Complaints are not always taken on board. On the advice of GP to phone an ambulance, until I phoned GP, a delay in phoning an ambulance of a couple of hours. Whatever you want to take from this.

We understand the distress caused by this when you visited and we offered our full support. You had been given every opportunity, as per the company's escorting policy, to escort your mum to the hospital however you had chosen for staff to attend on your behalf due to your working circumstances. I can confirm the home takes all complaints very seriously and the door remains open should you wish to speak to the management team directly. Apologies again.

My daughter's room got flooded in the middle of the night through no fault of her own and because they apparently didn’t have another room for her I’ve had to bring her home to my house with nothing in place. No hoist or hospital bed. She is only 31 with Rett syndrome, she has no speech and doesn’t walk so her needs are quite complex. She is now stuck on the sofa until the morning because I can’t move her on my own. Absolutely shocking. The management doesn’t want to take responsibility for any of this. I honestly cannot fault the staff because they are brilliant and really are doing their best but so overworked as never enough staff. The place is falling to bits with wind howling through gaps in window frames and just overall scruffy looking. I have plenty of other complaints but they will be going to the appropriate people. Advise visit as often as you can and keep your eyes wide open. All down to poor management as staff was great and very sad because it could be once again a great wee home.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We're extremely sorry about the unfortunate issue caused by an upstairs resident who left their tap running for around 30 minutes and flooded their bathroom. As soon as the leak was detected, your daughter's safety was our main priority which is why she had to vacate the room until our contractors attended that day and we were confident that it was safe to be re-used again. We understand your distress when you visited and offered our full support. There were no alternative bedrooms available and we advised that the room was now safe for your daughter to re-enter and we would conduct regular checks as an extra precaution. We must stress that you decided to take your daughter home against our advice, as is your choice, however we supported you, arranged transport and provided food for you to take. Thankfully the next day you brought her back and she's now in her own room again. Apologies again and thank you for your kind comments about the staff.

Sometimes team members can be occupied in resident's bedrooms or are required to buddy up for personal care which may have been the case. Thank you for raising the other points and rest assured we will investigate this and if standards have slipped, even if only slightly, then we will address it immediately. Best wishes.

The staff provided personalised care tailored to his needs. The unit manager and her team worked to a high standard. If a problem arose they were always prompt in phoning me to discuss the action plan. I had peace of mind and felt very reassured that my cousin was receiving the best possible care.
I cant praise the staff enough for the excellent end of life care they provided for my cousin. Also for their compassion and support to the family.

I joined Haydale Care Home in December 1999, and I’m proud to be part of such a caring and dedicated team.
As the Wellbeing Coordinator, I bring a person-centred approach to everything I do. I take the time to really get to know each resident — understanding what makes them smile, what brings them comfort, and what sparks joy in their day.
Our residents enjoy a wide variety of activities and are always eager to get involved, whether it’s group sessions, creative projects, or simply sharing good company.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, socialising, and going to the cinema.

I’ve been part of the Haydale Care Home team since 10/10/10, starting as a Care Assistant before moving into my current role as Wellbeing Coordinator in 2011.
I bring creativity, empathy, and imagination to everything I do. I’m a good communicator and pride myself on being friendly and approachable. With strong person-centred values, I focus on building meaningful relationships and genuine friendships with our residents.
Some of the activities that work particularly well here include Rem-a-sing — singing with purpose to spark memories and connection — and Welcome to the Week, which gives everyone a chance to share how they’re feeling and what’s happening in the home. Our creative arts sessions are also a favourite, and I’m proud that our artwork recently won a competition! I also enjoy creating personalised colouring sheets that help residents feel emotionally connected and focused.
Outside of work, I enjoy listening to podcasts, going to concerts, and spending quality time with my family at our caravan.
