I find the staff are very caring and go to great lengths to understand residents needs. The house manager, in particular, does all she can to meet the needs of the individuals and her care. Haydale Care Home does a difficult job very well.

My father is content, which is the most important thing to me. His only occasional complaint is about one of then night staff. In my experience, which is only of the day staff, the bulk of them are caring and concerned.

My Mother receives very good care, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. We are kept well up to date regarding care plan, medication and if GP has called etc. Mum seems happy with meals and there seems to be several activities going on during the week.

My Mother receives very good care, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. We are kept well up to date regarding care plan, medication and if GP has called etc. Mum seems happy with meals and there seems to be several activities going on during the week.
No real issues, other than I do think the bedroom is in need of decorating as the paintwork etc is looking a bit tired as is the bathroom. Slight issue with laundry as they seem to lose socks and underwear pretty frequently. Overall, however, we are very happy with the care our mother receives.

Staff keep us well informed of any changes to his care plan and have a great rapport with my father and his family. My only concern is the laundry facilities, several items of my father's clothes have gone awry forcing me to do his laundry at home.

The staff at Haydale have been fantastic with my mother. When she fell and had to be admitted to hospital they made sure on her return that physio care was given. The home provides safety and security and a great respect and care for my mothers wellbeing. I would like more activities such as...
The staff at Haydale have been fantastic with my mother. When she fell and had to be admitted to hospital they made sure on her return that physio care was given. The home provides safety and security and a great respect and care for my mothers wellbeing. I would like more activities such as painting, and card games, I know that the activities team are under great pressure to provide this service. Since my mother is deaf maybe when watching t.v or cinema movies that there are subtitles. The staff always try to encourage mum to eat, walk etc.

The care given to my husband has been and is exemplary. He is very comfortable in the environment and his needs are met efficiently and without delay (i.e. toileting). The care given to my husband has been and is exemplary. He is very comfortable in the environment and his needs are met efficiently and without delay (i.e. toileting). He eats all his food which he seems to enjoy and there is plenty of it. As far as the staff and management are concerned they are highly commended. They are very attentive, not only to residents, that also make visitors feel at home. If a doctor is required they do not hesitate to call one in and telephone relatives immediately. This is a wonderful home with excellent staff.
All management and staff are very helpful and keep in constant contact when there are any changes or updates to my mother-in-laws condition or when there is anything we need to know.

I joined Haydale Care Home in December 1999, and I’m proud to be part of such a caring and dedicated team.
As the Wellbeing Coordinator, I bring a person-centred approach to everything I do. I take the time to really get to know each resident — understanding what makes them smile, what brings them comfort, and what sparks joy in their day.
Our residents enjoy a wide variety of activities and are always eager to get involved, whether it’s group sessions, creative projects, or simply sharing good company.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, socialising, and going to the cinema.

I’ve been part of the Haydale Care Home team since 10/10/10, starting as a Care Assistant before moving into my current role as Wellbeing Coordinator in 2011.
I bring creativity, empathy, and imagination to everything I do. I’m a good communicator and pride myself on being friendly and approachable. With strong person-centred values, I focus on building meaningful relationships and genuine friendships with our residents.
Some of the activities that work particularly well here include Rem-a-sing — singing with purpose to spark memories and connection — and Welcome to the Week, which gives everyone a chance to share how they’re feeling and what’s happening in the home. Our creative arts sessions are also a favourite, and I’m proud that our artwork recently won a competition! I also enjoy creating personalised colouring sheets that help residents feel emotionally connected and focused.
Outside of work, I enjoy listening to podcasts, going to concerts, and spending quality time with my family at our caravan.
