From doing the initial walk round with a member of staff I knew that Bedford was the home for my parents. All the staff I have come into contact with from cleaners, maintenance, carers and managers of units are wonderful. They know there residents, there triggers and there moods. I am very lucky to
have found a place that I know is safe, clean and caring to our most vulnerable.
One member of staff, in particular, is on any concerns that I may have; if my mum is having a bad day. The staff work tirelessley, long shifts which can drain them. But they always greet you with a smile and a kind word. These carers are the best.

Don't allow your loved ones to stay here, shocking. Very poor. My mother was allowed to fall out of her chair, she broke her femur. This turned out to be a death sentence. She was put on palliative care and passed away 3 weeks later. She was on the mend until the fall.
Reply from Paul Lawson, National Sales Manager at Bedford Care Home

Thank-you very much for your review and feedback which is vitally important to us as we strive to maintain the very best standards throughout. We extend our continued condolences to you and the family on the loss of your dear mother. We understand that this is a very sad and difficult time but must use our right to respond to your comments and briefly outline the circumstances around your mother's history and health conditions on admission to Bedford Care Home and the reason for her subsequent fall. She was initially admitted to hospital following a collapse at home and was very ill during her hospital stay. A referral was made to the Independent Mental Capacity Advocate due to safeguarding concerns around decisions on her best interests. It was then agreed that she would be discharged to the care home and sadly she had a cardiac arrest which caused her fall and injury. We were so sorry to hear that after a short stay in hospital she passed away. Again we extend our very best wishes.

My best friends nana was admitted for respite and she enjoyed her stay that much she's been booked in again numerous times throughout the year! The staff here couldn't be more attentive and are always going beyond their roles which shows just how fantastic they all. We feel more like family when she
and everyone else arrives and I love that.
My best friend put Mill View as a last option when deciding were the respite would be until I brought her in and showed her around, showed the room, introduced the staff and went through numerous other things to help make her mind up and show just how much of a wonderful place we are and also the whole visit got her to choose us and she's been in respite

The care and service is wonderful. The home is clean, tidy, food is good, services provided for residents are food, all staff who I have come into contact with are friendly, polite, courteous and competent. Reception staff are so welcoming. I honestly cannot fault anything. Also, the buildings are all
on one level, alleviating falls and trips due to having no steps or stairs.

My Dad had a fall in May of this year and when he was discharged from the hospital he was transferred here to Bedford care home for rehabilitation and reading the reviews I was a bit hesitatant but wow he was in room 7 for nearly two months and the care he received was outstanding from all the seniors
carers and day and night right down to the Physiotherapist who was amazing and giving him the confidence and motivation to help him walk again he's been back at his own home now for the last month which he's doing remarkably well and I can't thank this Care home enough for all the support and caring they all given my Dad and infact he enjoyed this home so much he didn't want to leave so for us we are giving 5 stars because I wouldn't hesitate if he ever had to go back there so a big Thankyou to all those involved in his care it means so much.
Thankyou to five members of staff, in particular. On Day shift and the Night staff shift also the Physio you've all been amazing x

Staff are very friendly and approachable. The food does not allways match what is displayed on the menu.
Appears limited choice for someone on a special diet ie. low fiber due to a stoma. Maybe plain chicken could be offered when chicked is offered in a sauce. Maybe sometimes skinless sausage option.
Plain chips when wedges with skins on menu. Potatoe waffles and fish fingers would be nice rather than sauces or spicy food.
Reply from Joanne Fishwick, Home Manager at Bedford Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. We're delighted to hear that you found our staff friendly and approachable - we'll be sure to share your kind words with the team.We also appreciate your constructive comments regarding the menu, especially in relation to special dietary needs. We understand how important it is for individuals with specific dietary requirements, such as low-fiber diets, to have suitable options available. Your suggestions - including offering plain chicken, skinless sausage, plain chips, potato waffles, and fish fingers - are very helpful and will be taken into consideration as we review and improve our menu offerings.Ensuring that our menu accurately reflects what's available is also a priority, and we'll work on making this more consistent moving forward.Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. All the staff are excellent!!
Food is the biggest issue, my mother is a pescatarian and the sum total of choice seemed to be soup and sandwiches,, limited to choice of cheese or tuna or sausages (usually burnt). My mother is severely underweight and with the limited choice she wasn't encouraged to
eat well, even getting brown bread was a chore. In 2025 the amount of vegetarian choice surely goes beyond, cheese, sausages or tuna.
Reply from Joanne Fishwick, Home Manager at Bedford Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear your kind words about our staff - it's always encouraging to know their efforts are appreciated. We're very sorry to learn about your mother's experience with the food options. We completely understand how important proper nutrition and varied dietary choices are, particularly for someone who is underweight. While we strive to cater to all dietary needs, it's clear that on this occasion we fell short. Please be assured that your comments have been shared with our kitchen team, and steps are already being taken to expand and improve the vegetarian and pescatarian options available. It's disappointing that this wasn't raised with management during your mother's stay, as we would have done our utmost to address it immediately. If you'd like to discuss this further or would prefer to speak directly with a member of the management team, we would welcome the opportunity-either by phone or in person. Thankyou.

Dad and I had cared for mum for several months at home and hoped to continue doing so but a fall and subsequent hospital stay affected her mobility such that we couldn't safely look after her. When she was discharged from hospital she had a short stay somewhere with the hope that her mobility might
improve enough for her to return home. Sadly this wasn't the case and she was transferred to Beech House at Bedford Nursing Home. The care that mum received far exceeded our expectations, every single member of staff that we met, cleaning staff, leadership team, nursing staff, all obviously cared so much for the residents. We visited pretty much daily and without exception a member of staff had briefed us on how mum was that day before we got to her room. We really worried about mum going in to a care home but honestly this place is staffed by angels who treated mum with understanding, compassion and love. The care mum received was excellent. Five stars doesn't seem enough.

Thank you so much for your heartfelt and thoughtful review. We are truly sorry that your mum's health circumstances meant she was no longer able to remain at home, but we are honoured that you entrusted her care to us at Beech House. It means a great deal to hear that the support and compassion shown by our entire team-from our cleaners to our nurses and leadership staff-made such a positive difference during such a challenging time.Your kind words about the understanding, compassion, and love your mum received are deeply appreciated by everyone here. We are especially touched to know that our efforts provided comfort and reassurance to you and your dad throughout her stay.Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Gorton parks Care home. This company only cares about money and not resident's care.
We were fortunate enough to move my mother-in-law to a much better care facility so can compare what advinia healthcare offer and the care from the new company, moving homes was the best move I made for her. They ignored
my recorded delivery letters and also emails, so you will never get a resolution from them and may need to use the government bodies as I have had to do to resolve your issues. If you want your loved ones to feel safe valued and respected go somewhere else. Look at the CQC report on this home, I wish I had taken more notice of the comments and gone to the home she is now in. COULD NOT CARE LESS is only way care comes into it with this company and Gorton Parks Care Home as this was the home we used, the profile online looks so good but the reality is somewhat different.
Reply from Paul Lawson, National Sales Manager at Gorton Parks Care Home

Thank-you very much for your review and feedback which is invaluable to us as we strive to maintain the very highest standards throughout. We are really sorry that we did not meet your expectations during your mother-in-laws stay. The main issue, which we have discussed previously, was that you disagreed with the annual fee increase despite us outlining in detail the exact reasons for this. We would politely disagree that communications were ignored because our CEO personally offered a very reasonable resolution which you unfortunately declined. We are delighted to hear that your mother-in-law and yourself and the family are happy in the new setting and regret that we were unable to convince you to stay with us in order to truly experience our offering. Best wishes.
