I came to visit my brother in law on Sunday afternoon with my husband when we arrived Alan had deteriorated weight loss and his appearance he looked like he hadn't had a shower or hair cut we were so shocked no staff in the main lounge the smell was horrible we spent a hour with him sat at a dirty table with other residents sleeping or asking for help nothing for them to do to warm staff that did come in on there phones this place needs a good clean. I witnessed a resident that had wet herself two staff member took her to get changed all of 10 minutes sat her back in the wet chair didn't even clean the chair . One resident saying she was to warm couldn't breath bless her not one time did they think to take off thick jumper or sit her by a window no gave her a inhaler when clearly she needed air cooling down staff not knowing how to deal with situations shocking for us to witness.

Mum loves it at Mill vieu and the staff are brilliant it's just a shame that they don't get the support from the owners or upper management we have repeatedly asked for someone to participate in the meetings with the relatives we have another meeting due in February hopefully they will attend this one we are now on the 8th home manager in just over 3 years it's not fair for the home if they don't have the support of management

My grandma was unfortunately abused here for months. We repeatedly raised our concerns with staff, then with management, only to be lied to and ignored. They continually denied our serious concerns, even though my grandma was often left unwashed, dehydrated, and not properly fed.
Residents receive little to no human interaction, and any health concerns are dismissed. The staff's neglect had potentially life-threatening consequences, yet they still refused to take our concerns seriously.
A social worker intervened multiple times and instructed the home to follow the care plan, as their actions were putting my grandma at risk and a safeguarding report was put in place.
Due to the lack of showers, my grandma developed wounds that became infected. When we took her to the doctors, they were shocked at how long the infection had been left untreated.

We eventually found a new care home, and my grandma had to be moved as an emergency because of the abuse.

Martine House - When visiting my dad, he seems happy and relaxed here. The staff always makes us feel welcome when we come to visit him. I can't comment on the activities as we have not been when they have been doing any.

It is a lovely place and I am happy to have my wonderful Dad in a place where he is being looked after.

All her years at Atlas and Albion House. We highly recommend Atlas House for the superb care they take of my beloved auntie under the excellent leadership of Julie and at weekends, Afif. Staff are always kind, caring to my auntie. I know she is at peace living there. We are more thankful to them than they will ever know. They restore my faith in humanity. They are Angels. I pray God blesses each one of them.

My best friends nana was admitted for respite and she enjoyed her stay that much she's been booked in again numerous times throughout the year! The staff here couldn't be more attentive and are always going beyond their roles which shows just how fantastic they all. We feel more like family when she and everyone else arrives and I love that.

My best friend put Mill View as a last option when deciding were the respite would be until I brought her in and showed her around, showed the room, introduced the staff and went through numerous other things to help make her mind up and show just how much of a wonderful place we are and also the whole visit got her to choose us and she's been in respite

The care and service is wonderful. The home is clean, tidy, food is good, services provided for residents are food, all staff who I have come into contact with are friendly, polite, courteous and competent. Reception staff are so welcoming. I honestly cannot fault anything. Also, the buildings are all on one level, alleviating falls and trips due to having no steps or stairs.

My auntie was neglected at this home. Faeces on the pillow cases left wet in bed. Medication was left in her bed. Had two meeting with mangers nothing was addressed. Very very short staffed. The rooms were disgusting dirty and un kept. Their is vulnerable people walking around the building all day long their were no evidence of any interaction with any of the residents. Absolutely disgusting also in the kitchen area their were e cigarettes left in reach of the residents. I would not leave my dog their and to add we had a meeting this morning and it was decided my late auntie was indeed neglected!

On arrival to visit my nana, there was other family members waiting to access the building to see their loved ones for over 20 minutes, there was at least 6 residence in the corridor on their own banging on the door and shouting because they can see their family trying to visit them and residance was arguing amongst them selves... there was not a member of staff in sight checking to see what the loud commotion was. Once we gained entry a rude member of staff ignored family members concerns and she pushed past visitors causing injury to a young girl and then got confrontational saying it was accident and refused to apologies and walked off. There is a few lovely members of staff there that we are grateful for their hard work.

Review from M Y (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 8 November 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

So disappointed in the care my mother-in-law recently received in this home. Residents are left facing each other in chairs for 12 hours of the day while staff sit playing on their phones or playing cards there is very little interaction with the residents. The rooms stink of urine and the sippy cups given to residents had black mould on. If asked any questions the staff don't seem to know the answers they have to check. Overall most but not all of the staff are just going through the motions with very little interest in who they are caring for.

In regards to staff using their mobile phones, we have a no mobile phone use policy but the devices staff use to document care notes look almost identical...

The care provided to my brother in law since his admission to Rutland house in February this year has been very good. He settled very well and despite the fact that we as his family would rather that he wasn't in care, we are reassured that he is being taken good care of. There are a few areas that we feel could be better managed in an ideal world but sadly we don't live in an ideal world. The staff at Rutland house are worth their weight in gold and we are eternally grateful to them for the care and kindness that they show to our beloved family member. Your patience and kindness is priceless .
