Deanfield has an experienced care team who offer numerous types of care; these include nursing, convalescence, palliative care, respite and nursing dementia care. The team is also trained to help those with Parkinson’s disease, carrying out tailored packages to suit each resident’s well-being.

The facility, which has pleasant gardens and homely furnishings, is organised to suit an independent lifestyle at the same time as offering full-time access to a professional team. A sensory garden allows residents to make the most of the summer months.

Even though I struggled with the thought of my mum going into a care home i was almost immediately put at ease when I saw the level of care provided by all staff, not just towards my mum, but all of the residents.
Her room is bright and with the addition of some of her personal belongings makes it
more homley for her.
Nothing seems to be too much for all members of staff who are always on hand to assist with the daily demands of a care home. My mum quickly made a friend and has become more outgoing and getting her hair done always cheers her up. Having a beauty room and small library, even though she doesn't use that, is a great addition for anyone who just need a quiet place to sit and read. Overall I am very pleased with the home as the three most important things to me is for her to be safe, happy, and have dignity and I genuenly feel Deanfield provide this

My auntie went in to the home the staff were really nice took care of auntie especially a young man whom she took to her wee face would light up when he came in to the room went to get her hair done a few times as the have a beauty room. and staff always kept us well informed if anything was wrong
when we always went in was asked if we would like a cup of tea/coffee overall the home is nice

I highly recommend this nursing home. My aunt has just completed her 6-week review period. The staff are caring and compassionate. Clean and well-maintained facilities. We kept my mum at home during COVID and then were looking for somewhere she felt comfortable, and would look after her needs due to her Parkinson's and assistance with feeding.


The staff at Deanfield were very attentive, friendly and professional. Mum settled in quickly and felt at home with the

sociable staff. She enjoyed the activities and the personal touch of knowing her history, her preferred foods and her daily habits. She felt very relaxed after the apprehension of losing her independence.


Choosing a care home is a challenge but the Manager and the Care team made it as easy as possible, and my Mum and my family are very grateful for looking after her so well.

Our friend entered the home in August 2024. We had several visits beforehand and had liked the atmosphere and ethos of the home. He settled in straight away due to the friendliness and support of the management and staff. He put on weight, looked so much better and was a lot happier with life. Such
a successful outcome! He has continued to make great progress living in the home going on outings taking part in activities and forming friendships. This is all due to the dedication and hard work of staff and management.

My husband has been a resident at Deanfield for just over a year. A warm welcome is always given when visiting and you are always treated with respect.
All the staff are friendly and caring. I am kept up to date with any changes to my husband's condition and any change of treatment required. My views
are taken into account and any issues I have are looked into. I am happy with the care my husband receives and he is always treated with dignity.

My aunt unfortunately passed away in August 2024. She had been a resident of Deanfield since February 2017. In all that time she was treated with the utmost respect and care from all the staff and management. Deanfeld truly was her happy place. The staff deserve credit for the attention and care given

Having just had a relatives meeting at the home I am really pleased with what has been outlined for the future of the unit as a whole. They have over the last six months put things in place which are now showing a great benefit to the residents. I am aware that funding is a problem throughout the care
industry but with more discussion I'm sure we all can help our loved ones. I am really happy with the care and support my wife received, it is great to know that she is treated with dignity.

My mother came into the care home in February. The staff and management were very helpful, kind and attentive. There were some issues regarding other residents coming into my mother's room, this was due to other residents having Dementia so I was understanding of this. The staff tried different tactics
and solutions to deter other residents from coming into my mother's room. When another room had become available she was moved to another more suitable room. This was much better and more reassuring. Overall I can't thank the staff enough for the care and kindness they have given my mother, family and friends.

My nana has been in here for over 10 years. It was a great care home back then. More recently there is staff shortages, miscommunication and also neglect happening. There isn't enough staff in this building to care for dementia patients. At one point this week there were 3 members of staff. Residents
are being neglected in terms of personal hygiene as well. Many times I have had to report residents to staff and ask staff to change them as they have been walking about without pads being changed. Some staff are absolutely lovely and you can't fault them personally. They are completely overworked and put under stress in their workplace. There is certainly a lot of miscommunication as well and staff tell you one thing and then another staff member will say that's not correct and tell you different information.

My mother had a lovely time during her stay at the care home. Our family could relax knowing that she was safe, well, and looked after.
Staff knew her well and ensured that her needs were met and that she had the right kind of help at the right time.
Our family was very much allowed to be involved
in my mother's care and we were consulted on a regular basis with regards to her care and health. We were very grateful for this.
My mother also received high-quality end-of-life care. Staff were caring considerate, understanding and fully considered my mother’s specific needs and wishes, as well as the family’s. My mother passed away peacefully in the home with me by her side.

I have watched this place go from 8/10 to 0. Communication is poor, and massive staff changes which aren’t good. Lots of staff have left since the changeover. Residents will certainly not understand a lot of the staff. If I could turn the clock back I would.

I began my journey at Deanfield Care Home in June 2023 as Deputy Manager and subsequently, it was a great privilege to progress to the role of Home Manager.


With many years of experience in healthcare and nursing, my goal is to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere and to ensure that residents, their families, our staff and visitors all feel at home.


The well-being and dignity of the residents are paramount, and we constantly strive to make sure that they experience the highest quality of life and receive the very best support and compassion.
