Deanfield has an experienced care team who offer numerous types of care; these include nursing, convalescence, palliative care, respite and nursing dementia care. The team is also trained to help those with Parkinson’s disease, carrying out tailored packages to suit each resident’s well-being.

The facility, which has pleasant gardens and homely furnishings, is organised to suit an independent lifestyle at the same time as offering full-time access to a professional team. A sensory garden allows residents to make the most of the summer months.

Mealtimes are sociable occasions, though residents can eat in their own rooms if they choose, with the food menu consisting of freshly-made produce and tailored to personal taste and diet. Clients also receive a personalised, home-made cake on their birthday.

My husband moved into Deanfield Care Home shortly before Christmas 2021 which was quite an upsetting experience for me. The staff were very understanding and caring and they made the whole procedure effortless. My husband is well looked after and very well cared for. The staff have a thankless job to
do but they all do it with care and compassion. I have found them all to be extremely friendly and caring and put the residents' needs first. It can't be easy having to attend to differing ailments among the residents and I applaud them for their skills and attentiveness.

I find the home to be in good hands. The staff are helpful to those there and also to those that visit. There is a garden to sit in and walk around. The activities that I was at were very good with singalongs and tea parties and others.

Some staff on the first floor don't listen. I'm fed up with asking the same thing over and over. Leaving my dad's expensive electric shaver out, as it should go in his locking safe for security as a previous shaver went missing and I had to claim the company for costs. He was stopped from smoking for
four months without telling me, his legal guardian.

Your dad's rights and best interests are always at the forefront of our minds and we will continue to try to find the correct balance and do our best to lock his razor in his safe whilst accommodating his own personal wishes and habits. Dad smokes in a designated area in the home and is taken and supported by the staff whenever he wishes however recurring chest infections in recent months have curtailed his requests to do this. We moved my mum here to Deanfield Care Home after my mother-in-law passed away here in August 2019 (she had been here for about 5-months, and her care had been second to none). The home my mum was in was not meeting her needs, and they had terrible issues that the home was not dealing with. Staff here
at Deanfield Care Home have been accommodating, caring and understanding of my mum's needs which are a bit different to most other residents. They take the time to ensure doctors, hospital, optical and dental checks are done and that I am aware of the results. Facilities staff have been really great in accommodating mums room decorating for us, and the kitchen team have been so kind with birthday cakes over the years. Any time I go to visit, staff are friendly and cheery (which, in itself, is fantastic considering what they have gone through during the pandemic and lockdown). I highly recommend this home.

My mum moved to Deanfield Care Home in December 2021. My mum settled quickly, all the staff are friendly, kind and very helpful, and I have no doubts that my mum is very well cared for. My mum's room is facing on to the garden and is nice and bright.

Not impressed with this care home. Most staff are exceptionally nice, with the exception of the main nurse who answers the phone in the ground floor unit. She is extremely confrontational.
Been trying for weeks to get my dad moved as we’re not impressed with the overall care offered.
Patients roam
the corridors and enter each other’s rooms. My dad has basic needs which are not being met, as the staff is dealing with patients with greater needs. Understandable but not acceptable, we’re paying a lot of money for this service.
Rooms are basic and there is a constant smell from the toilet. Started cleaning it each time we visit.
He needs two negative PCR tests to move him, which seem to be going astray. They admitted one test had been submitted incorrectly, however, the main nurse is too busy to confirm the bar code of the latest test, so we can’t chase it. Been told we just have to wait. Makes you wonder how the main nurse treats residents when she is so nasty to relatives.

Thank you for your review. We are very disappointed that we could not meet your expectations and that you have decided to move your dad elsewhere. When your dad was first admitted we could understand your frustrations about the Covid regulations but the Public Health guidelines around Care Home admissions and isolation are there to protect the Residents and staff and it is our responsibility to follow them. We have cooperated fully with your wishes to transfer your dad and are sorry to hear about the issues with the PCR tests which are out of our control as they are completed by the GP and testing labs. We do not have concerns about our staff members who are constantly praised on this forum. They are incredibly caring and compassionate. We did offer to move Dad upstairs when a place became available however you have now declined this offer. Thank you for your high scores for Management, Activities, Facilities and Safety/Security and we wish your dad all the best in his new placement.

My husband has just completed his first four weeks in the home, so is still adjusting to his changed circumstances. He is appreciative of the staff support and their caring attitude towards him. Staff have involved both of us in planning his care and keep me informed in all aspects of his care. He is

My mum was in Deanfield's care for about eighteen months until she died last week. The care of both my parents and of our family has been exemplary. There would be no opportunity to find fault. Very friendly home. Feel confident that my mother is being so well looked after. Recently went over and above to give her a celebration on her 100th and involve us even though we couldn't travel due to COVID. Would definitely recommend it.

My mum was placed into Deanfield on 18th August 2020. This was a really daunting and emotional time for both my mum and me. However, I am now at ease with it as the staff team are so good with my mum. Due to COVID, I only see my mum once a week and she appears to really trust the members of staff. Also,
every day when I call and speak to my mum, there's always some sort of activity or music or something going on. Highly recommend!

My Aunt has been in the home for nearly six years, and I am more than happy with the care, love and attention she receives. The staff are amazing. Treating her with care and respect, and I see this with all residents. During the pandemic, we were kept updated with Whatsapp pictures which obviously had
to stop when the pandemic hit the home. I would and have reassured people that Deanfield is a perfect home for their loved ones to live.

My father has only recently moved into the care setting. My experience is such a short time with my dad being in care has been exceptional, he seems to be settling in well and gets on with the staff still settling in period. Some of my answers have? due to COVID and the restrictions.

My parents moved into Deanfield at the beginning of lockdown. The manager and staff at Deanfield all made the transition as smooth as possible. The maintenance man had their pictures and photos up on their walls before they arrived to make it welcoming. I was very impressed by the welcome we received
and the efforts that were made to help my parents settle down. I had long discussions with the manager, staff nurse/sister and GP about my parents and their care. They are happier and healthier than they were before and they say that all the staff are very kind, they love the food and enjoy the activities that they are involved in. The ethos of Deanfield as such, all the staff go out of their way to think about all the little things that make life pleasant, getting another cushion, kneeling down to encourage the drinking or just another mouthful to avoid dehydration; finding a softer seat; responding patiently to demands to go to the toilet when my mum has just been. The gardener moving the plants in the garden around so that residents have a different view when they look out their window.

I find Deanfield care home very well-run. Staff are very caring if anything occurs. The staff are always quick to let you know of any doctors visits and always keep you up to date with the resident's progress.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

I began my journey at Deanfield Care Home in June 2023 as Deputy Manager and subsequently, it was a great privilege to progress to the role of Home Manager.


With many years of experience in healthcare and nursing, my goal is to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere and to ensure that residents, their families, our staff and visitors all feel at home.


The well-being and dignity of the residents are paramount, and we constantly strive to make sure that they experience the highest quality of life and receive the very best support and compassion.


Please come and say hello when you are visiting your loved ones. Together, we can continue to make Deanfield a wonderful place for everyone.
