Can't thank all the staff for their caring attitude and attention to all mums needs.
Since being in longwood grange all my concerns have gone and I am able to build back my relationship as a son back, spend quality time with her and get involved with activities with her with the time she has left.
I have also built relationships with other residents, families and staff which has helped me get over a difficult time prior to mum going in full time care.
Thank you.
My wife has been a resident at Longwood Grange since July 2024 and since the very start she has been shown lots of genuine care and attention from the staff, the staff also make the the relatives and visitors welcome as well. There are regular activities and they also also put on parties at the key celebratory times of year and in the summer. The rooms are calming and comfortable and meals filling and nourishing. The Manager is very open to talking to relatives and hearing feedback/concerns which he addresses. Overall I feel my wife is well cared for at this home.
Thank-you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted that your dear wife is so settled and content and grateful that you have taken the time to share your positive experience. Best wishes.
We visit my dad regualey and are happy with the care he receives

My mum has been a resident at Longwood Grange for nearly two years, and we couldn't be happier with the care she receives. The staff are kind, attentive, and always treat residents with dignity and warmth. The home is welcoming and well maintained, and there are plenty of activities to keep residents engaged and happy. It gives our family great peace of mind knowing Mum is safe, comfortable, and so well looked after. We're very grateful to the whole team.
Thank-you so much for your lovely review and for sharing your positive experience at Longwood Grange. We are delighted that you and the family are so happy and reassured and that your dear mum is doing so well. Best wishes from us all
The manager is a lovely man who's very approachable and makes himself available to listen and discuss and keeps us well informed at all times.
He and his team are wonderful a great asset. They all show care, respect, compassion and dignity at all times along with a lovely sense of humor and fun, which dad appreciates greatly having a good sense of humor himself.
Dad's engaging in various activities with his friends and staff which is stimulating and enjoyable.
The management/staff organize lots of themed events and parties, we've had singers, bands and various entertainers appearing, and always with food and drinks. Family and friends are always made very welcome.
Dad's recently had a birthday and we were able to celebrate privately as a family in the cinema room at the home which was lovely.
Thank you very much that was greatly appreciated by all his family.
You are all wonderful!
Thank you very much.
Our team works hard to ensure every resident is treated with compassion, dignity, and respect, and it...
Overall well satisfied, good food, plenty of activities. Well cared for.
Thank-you very much for your review and positive feedback. Best wishes
They are truly an asset to the home!
Rooms are clean and well presented and feel very homely and the home as a whole feels very secure with a pleasant atmosphere.
The manager is very visible, approachable and helpful and he too seems to truly care about the resident's wellbeing. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are delighted that your mother is enjoying staying at Longwood and that you and the family have had such a positive experience. We strive to create a home-from-home atmosphere where the residents feel comfortable and relaxed and families always feel...
Welcoming environment with people who care about their roles within the care home looking after the residents. The staff keep you fully up to date with my loved one. The resident's drinking cups and water jugs could do with reviewing as some are stained, but other than that it's good.
Thank you very much for your review and kind compliments about the staff team. We will forward your feedback about glassware/jugs to the hospitality manager and thank you for bringing this to our attention. Thanks again for your high rating. Best wishes.
Everything here is excellent. Staff, cleaners and nurses, all excellent.
Thank you very much for sharing your positive experience at Longwood Grange. Best wishes.
My mother is a resident of Longwood Grange Care Home. The staff put on a really great Halloween party today. Staff and residents dressed up, a fantastic singer had everyone singing along and the party food was lovely.
We are delighted that your mother enjoyed the party, we all had loads of fun! Thank-you for leaving a review and best wishes.
The management team here are poor at communicating, and do not seem to care about residents. They are also difficult to speak to. Issues such as my stepfather not settling at night and having falls only came to light when another care home came to discuss his needs with the supervisors, and these were then denied. Valuable items went missing and were never found, with no concern at all from the supervisors.
I formally complained, the investigation by the home manager and then regional director found in their favour. My complaints were dismissed as being "inconclusive" or "denied". To avoid the upset and distress my stepfather and his family had here, please avoid Longwood Grange.
Thank you for your feedback which is always welcome as we strive to maintain high standards throughout. We would have welcomed the opportunity to meet with you to discuss and resolve any potential issues but unfortunately as you declined the invitations we haven't been able to do so. We are sorry...
Having my mum have her 90th Birthday and a member of the family be able to visit and hold the event in a quiet area has made things very good. Something the care home needs to let other relatives know if wanting a more personal 'party'. This along with the day-to-day care my mum gets is keeping her well.
Happy Birthday to your dear mum and it was an honour and pleasure to celebrate this special occasion with her. Best wishes to all the family.
My dad came to live at Longwood Grange Care Home in May this year. From day one the care he received was exceptional. He was kept clean and had very healthy meals. His room was amazing. The manager kept me informed with anything to do with Dad. The home was welcoming, clean and had daily entertainment. The staff always welcomed me and my family with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend Longwood Grange. Dad had 14 happy weeks there before he passed away.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We send our love and ongoing condolences to you and the family on the loss of your dear dad. We are really pleased to have played a part in his wonderful lifetime and it was an honour to have him living with us for a short time. Glad we could help to make his final weeks more comfortable and happy. Best wishes from all the team.
Respite care was arranged through Kirklees and then directly with the manager. Given a chance to view the home before admission. The home lent us a wheelchair to make the journey there easier. On arrival my husband was shown his room and was given a welcome pack. All the staff introduced themselves. My husband was introduced to another resident. The cook asked about his food preferences. Leaving him was difficult but the staff made this as easy as they could. There were no visiting restrictions and I was offered the chance to have a meal with him. Each day there were activities and the Euros were shown on TV. I felt reassured he was in good hands and he looked well when I visited. When he left, the staff packed his things. He had enjoyed his time there but was pleased to be coming home.
Thank you for your review and we are delighted to hear that your husband enjoyed his stay at Longwood Grange. It's always our aim to help families feel reassured that their loved ones are in a safe place and being well cared for. If we can be of assistance again in the future then it would be lovely to welcome you back. Best wishes.
The management and staff were excellent when my husband stayed for respite for 2 weeks, they cared for him very well and my hubby and didn't want him to leave. The place is clean and tidy and comfortable am hoping that I can send him there again. It's the best home I have found for the hubby for respite, others haven't looked after him properly, other homes haven't looked after him right. It is hard to find a good home for care and I have found one when I need respite again, they have a bed for him. Thank you Longwood Grange for the excellent care to my husband.
Thank you for your review and for entrusting us with your husband's respite stay. We are delighted that he enjoyed his time at Longwood and that you felt reassured that he was feeling safe and content. Please let us know if we can be of assistance again in the future. Best wishes.
Longwood Grange looked after my Dad wonderfully. He was confused at first but was treated and looked after very well. When his health deteriorated his care was altered accordingly and once again he was looked after well by the wonderful staff. The staff say he was 'one of their favourites' but I think lots of the residents are that to many staff. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, the team are missing your dad very much and sends their very best wishes to you and the family.
Comfortable as well. No odour. The food is good and varied. I have sampled it myself, there are many varied activities and visits from local organisations outside visits are also arranged when weather permits. I have no concerns knowing my wife is well looked after. Praise to all.
Thank you very much for your lovely review and words of praise. We are delighted that you and the family feel reassured and are so happy with the care provided. Best wishes.
The staff at Longwood Grange looked after my dad with respect, care and compassion. His every need was tended to with dedication and support. My family and I were always made very welcome and I was always kept updated about medical issues. The lounge was a lovely environment for the residents to spend their daytime hours with lots of activities for those able to take part in. My dad passed away in March with dignity and much love from all staff. I highly recommend Longwood Grange as excellent.
Hello and thank you for your kind words. On behalf of the whole team at Longwood, we extend our ongoing condolences for the recent loss of your dear dad. It was a pleasure and honour to care for him and we send our very best wishes to you and the family.
It is clear that you and the rest of your team strive tirelessly to provide the highest possible standards of care in a safe, warm, clean and welcoming environment to make sure every resident is cared for in the best possible way.
I feel that all my dad’s needs were met to the highest possible standards, medically, nutritionally, dignity and well-being. He never appeared dishevelled, unclean, or unshaven his clothes were always clean too no food stains on them. His legs were dressed regularly to ensure he wasn’t in discomfort.
Your enduring stewardship in defending both residents and relatives from unwelcome pressures especially rises in fees is also remarkable and is truly a demonstration of your outstanding commitment to the well-being and safe care of your residents.
Thank you very much for your lovely review and on behalf of the entire team at Longwood we send our very best wishes to you and the family. It really was a privilege and honour to care for your dear father. We will pass on your comments to our colleagues who will truly appreciate your words of praise. Thanks again.
I have no hesitation in recommending Longwood Grange to anyone who has a family member needing residential care.
Hello and thank you very much for your review and recommendation. We are delighted that your mum has settled in so well and that you are happy with the care provided by the team at Longwood. Best wishes
