My mother stayed in Norwood for over two years. I felt mum was extremely well looked after by competent and caring staff. It's a very demanding environment to work in and I felt the management team and staff worked really well together to create an environment that not only cared for my mum but also us. They would brainstorm ideas to ensure we were involved at times in the home with my mum, just enjoying life as you would outside. Amongst many great experiences, we had a very memorable night that the staff had set up as a restaurant including waiter service and candles. For this we are truly grateful. The care home is not perfect and can't be under the challenging conditions, however the effort can't be faulted. There was only one occasion, quite early on in my mums stay, where I complained to the manager. The response was exactly what I wanted to hear and the necessary changes were put into practice as we were told they would be. Thank you for looking after my mum.

Firstly, I would like to thank all the satff within Norwood. I think all staff work very hard and this allows them to deliver a high standard of care. I have been very impressed with the care given to our relative. I feel the staff know all the residents individually and this means they can provide care which is centred at the individual. Staff have also provided support to us as a family as we found the transition very difficult in the beginning. However this has subsided as we have full trust in the staff, delivering a high standard of care and that our relative is very well cared for. Keep up the good work and it is very much appreciated.

I cannot thank Norwood Care Home enough for the care, compassion, and dignity they showed my mum over the past year. From the very beginning, the staff treated her not just as a resident, but as part of their family.
Every member of the team went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable, safe, and well cared for. They always took the time to speak to her kindly, support her through difficult days, and keep us updated, which meant so much to us as a family.
In her final days, the care and kindness shown was truly exceptional. The staff handled everything with such sensitivity, respect, and genuine compassion, making an incredibly difficult time that little bit easier for us.

I will always be grateful for the love and dedication they showed my mum. Norwood Care Home is a truly special place with an amazing team, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

My Mum had been in the care home for nearly a year.
We had moved my Mum from another home which wasn't suitable and so glad we chose Norwood.
From the day she moved in to Fereneze unit she was made to feel so welcome, the care she received was second to none, there was loads of different activities to keep her mind busy on a daily basis and on some weekends live entertainment. Barbie and Liz were great with my Mum with Barbie making my laugh all the time and Liz who would always got my Mum up to dance which was lovely to see.
She then moved to Braes unit and again the care she received was excellent.
From the moment my Mum arrived nearly a year ago to when she sadly passed i cannot thank Sue and her team enough, the care, compassion and dignity they provided to my Mum i really cannot fault.

Thanks to all at Norwood!

Review from Marion M (Sister of Resident) published on 29 April 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our sister was recently admitted from another care facility to Norwood and the transition was very challenging and stressful for her and us her family. From the very first meeting with the manager Sue we were treated with patience and genuine understanding. Every question was answered and lots of useful advice was given to help to make it as seamless as possible for our sister

We returned the next day to discuss finances etc with Helen and once again we were delighted with the help and advice given and everything was explained

On the day of admission we were greeted with genuine care our sister was taken around to meet everyone and then a care giver sat with her in her room sorting clothes and calming everything down another care giver got her sandwiches and her favourite cup of tea

We had to deal with some sad difficult news this week and Liz was absolutely so professional not only with delivering our sister the news but listening to my concerns

The staff are all fabulous.

I'm very grateful to Norwood Nursing Home for providing an outstanding level of care for my mum, Gillian. Very special thanks to all staff for their professionalism and expertise in looking after my mum (who's 91 and has Alzheimer's / vascular dementia) during her respite stay in July 2025 following a fall at her home, which resulted in a broken wrist. Norwood was head and shoulders above all other care homes that we've used in the past - all staff were friendly, capable and professional. Communication was excellent throughout. I would have no hesitation in recommending Norwood, this is the most professional and inclusive care home we've experienced and certainly sets the standards for others to attain.

My Dad recently entered Norwood for respite care. The staff are amazing and he settled straight away. He has late stage Alzheimer's and other health concerns and he is like a younger fit man again, relishing all the interactions and connections he's making. I can't praise Norwood enough. We are so lucky that our father is being cared for so very well. Thankyou Norwood

My husband has been in Norwood for some months now and I am extremely happy with the care he is receiving. All the staff, management, carers, nurses, housekeepers, kitchen and maintenance staff, provide a level of care which goes beyond their remits. He is treated with dignity and compassion and his health is well looked after. If I have any concerns about him the manager and carers are happy to talk them through with me. He is encouraged to take part in daily activities and I have the opportunity to join him for monthly lunches in the Bee Kind cafe and at regular entertainment.
I have peace of mind knowing he is being well cared for and am so glad I listened to the friends who told me about Norwood. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a care home for their loved ones.

My dad, who had Alzheimer's was in Norwood for just over a year and was very well looked after. The staff were always cheerful and helpful, and I knew that my dad was being well cared for as the staff seemed to know him well. When my dad was receiving end of life care, everyone treated him with respect and dignity and as a family we were very touched by the compassion and kindness we were shown when he passed away. A huge thank you to everyone!

I was very worried about my mum and dad going into a care home as they both have Alzheimer's, and I knew it would be a whole new, different lifestyle for them. I needn't have worried, the staff and care they have received has been great, and although my mum is taking time to settle, the staff have been great with her. I can have peace of mind that they are well looked after with care and compassion.
