We extend our continued and heartfelt sympathies to you and the family for the recent loss of your dear aunt. Please do come in and see us anytime so that we can share with you the exact details of all the interventions and medication reviews that took place almost daily throughout her short stay with us both by doctors and palliative nurse specialists. It was a very sad situation and we completely understand your concerns which is why it could possibly provide you a clearer insight if you would allow us the opportunity to show you the documented processes followed and explain the procedures when a resident is admitted to the care home for end of life care. Thank you very much for your review. Your feedback is really important to us as we strive to maintain the highest standards throughout our service. We have made our chef aware of the concerns you have and he will take all appropriate action to ensure that your loved one receives food suited to their tastes and preferences. We have just posted out invitations to care reviews for all of the relatives and all of our Heads of Departments will attend these. We also hold weekly relative surgeries and in addition, our Home Manager's door is always open should you prefer to chat in person. We would highly recommend following one of these routes so that we may speak with you about any specific concerns and make sure that the service meets your expectations. Thank you very much for your kind comments about our wonderful Activity Coordinator and Office Administrator. They are fantastic and we are lucky to have them! We apologise if you felt a bit unsettled during the recent consolidation period when we closed a unit to focus on delivering quality care to two separate houses using our own experienced team. We acknowledge that there a bit of change and thank-you for your patience. As things are now settling really well we are seeing the positive benefits that these changes are delivering. Hello and thank you very much for your review. We are delighted that your aunt is happy and content at Ryland View and that you find the staff to be pleasant when you are visiting. Please pop into the office and let us know if your aunt is missing a particular item of clothing and we will get the team to investigate. Small items can sometimes go missing (socks are the main culprit) but do mysteriously appear later and are then returned to their owner. Thanks again and best wishes.

Thank-you for your feedback and we are sorry that we did not meet you or your family's expectations during your dad's short stay at Ryland View. Sadly, we are unable to offer 1 to 1 care in our communal living setting without prior notice and agreement from the local authority to allow additional staff members to be recruited and allocated. Prior to admission we were given an assessment of dad's care needs which regrettably did not identify these additional requirements. We would have welcomed the opportunity to have met with you in advance of your dad's admission to discuss your view of his needs so we could have shared with you directly the care service provided and measures in place to minimise risk, and enabled you to agree if they were what you felt you needed for him. This may have improved your experience which is not truly reflective of the high standards of care that we provide for the residents and the support for their families and loved ones. At the time that you moved your mum the reason offered was because you would prefer her to be closer to home and your original first choice home, which was previously full, now had a vacancy for her to move in.
