I’ve been dedicated to the Health and Social Care sector since 2006, before which, I was a software developer and Technical Author. As a Registered Manager, I’ve worked closely with staff at all levels across different care homes, from small start-up companies to large national providers; my hands-on experience has shaped my approach to care and management, ensuring compliance with regulations, fostering high-quality care, and leading dedicated teams.
I also hold a BSc(Hons) in Computer Science, enabling me to leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and improve care quality at Ryland View. I’m committed to professional development and strive to deliver exceptional care and support to those I serve.
Hi, my name is Sarah Gillies. I joined Ryland View in 2013 as a Housekeeping Assistant, and after 10 wonderful years in that role, I was delighted to take the opportunity to join the Wellbeing team.
I’ve always loved interacting with our residents and their families — seeing them happy and smiling makes my job truly worthwhile. I’m naturally a bubbly and outgoing person, and I bring that energy into everything I do. Whether it’s a lively group session or a one-to-one activity, my goal is always to make our residents feel engaged and uplifted.
One of our favourite activities here at Ryland View is enjoying live singing entertainers — everyone loves to sing and dance along! We’ve also recently opened our B Happie Café, where residents and relatives can relax, chat, and enjoy a coffee together in a lovely social space.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going out for meals, reading, and walking my dog, Cara.
