My mom moved here in May 25 due to her parkinsons becoming worse and needing nursing care. The staff and management have all been amazing in supporting my mom aswell as the family with this transition in what was a very hard time. My mom is very well looked after and supported.
My mom is offered choices
with her meals and drinks aswell as activities she wants to do.
The communication between the home,my mom and family is fantastic.
I cannot thank the staff enough for all they do. I can finally sleep at night knowing my mom is looked after.

In my experience the home provides a loving homely environment which quickly and easily helped mum to feel a real part of the family here.

My mum has lots of of health issues and is cared for by them team 24 hours a day/night.
This isn't just a care home, it's a home where everyone is included in the fun but if mum doesn't want to play that day that's fine too
The food is excellent
The home itself is always clean but it is the team
that make The Priory home from home where I can visit anytime and enjoy a cuppa with mum.

Braemount Care Home is very bright and airy and well maintained both inside and outside in the patio area. All staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about my mother in law and her needs.
My mother in law is very well presented and is always clean. She speaks highly of her carers and the
nursing staff.
The Care Home always has activities for residents and events for special occasions which families are invited to and are well attended. The link with the local schools & nursery is excellent.
Staff are quick to inform us if my mother in law has any external needs ( new clothing required; toiletries etc)
The hairdressing room is an added bonus for residents welfare.

Oxford Manor Care Home

from L H (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My elderly mother is always happy to be in respite in Oxford Manor Care Home, even if she creates a fuss about going as her generation often have a negative idea of what care homes were like in the past. She settles in well and thrives with all the fuss and attention she is given by the lovely staff.
She enjoys the mealtimes immensely and likes watching the activities even if she no longer joins in. She often doesn't want to leave.
Reply from Philip McAllister, Customer Relations Manager at Oxford Manor Care HomeThank you for sharing this, it really means a lot to us.
We completely understand that initial reluctance, and it's something we see often, so it's especially reassuring to hear how quickly your mother settles once she's here. Knowing she feels comfortable, well looked after, and enjoys that extra bit of attention from our team is exactly what we hope to achieve. Being part of our home doesn't always mean joining in, and we're so pleased she feels included in a way that suits her.
The fact she often doesn't want to leave says everything, thank you again for trusting us with her care, and we look forward to welcoming her back!

Oxford Manor Care Home

from Marc F (Son of Resident) published on 7 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
The staff and management locally have stabilised after an extended period of high turnover and now provide sympathetic and patient focussed care. Mum is well cared for and receives the medical and physical support she needs and deserves and that I am unable to provide.
Whilst I accept that this is
a business providing vital care, a 46% rise in fees charged in under three years is distressing and this ignores new additional support payments claimed directly by the care home.
Reply from Philip McAllister, Customer Relations Manager at Oxford Manor Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your experience. It means a great deal to hear that your mother is receiving the compassionate, person-focused care she deserves, and that you've seen a positive change in the stability of our team. Creating a consistent, supportive environment for both residents and families is incredibly important to us.
We also fully recognise how concerning an increase in fees over time can feel. Please be assured that any adjustments are carefully considered and reflect the increasing complexity of care needs, alongside rising costs to ensure we continue delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred support.
We would always welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly, to listen and provide clarity wherever helpful.
Thank you again for your trust and valued feedback.

Very poor experience of CROFT unit.
Staff lackadaisical.Care poor.
Mum transferred from hospital for 6wk assessment but little done.
Home care was inadequate and poor.
Mum was found on floor shortly after being transferred to chair on
Mum often not fit to be in a chair.
The chair was not
suitable for mum and a pillow was used down 1 side to supposedly correct postural lean due to dementia.
OT needed to assess for her needs.
Mum sustained a fractured femur from the fall .Paramedics arrived about 1and a half hrs later .Mum remained conscious throughout.
.However, Mum suffered a type 1 heart attack and type 2 respiratory failure as a result of the stress of the fall at 90yrs of age and her underlying health conditions. She was conscious but unresponsive by the time she arrived at hospital .
Nothing further could be done and num was put on end of life care.
She died 3wks later.
Appropiate monitoring, assessments and care needs were not met .
I do not recommend CROFT !

Additionally the 'day bell' has been out of order fir around 2 weeks - not acceptable
Reply from Paul Lawson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Norwood Care HomeThank-you very much for your review and feedback, which is vital to us as we strive to maintain the highest standards throughout. The door-bell was faulty and working intermittently so we ordered a new and improved unit and an additional internal chime bell has been installed which will increase staff awareness and response times when a visitor rings the bell.
