“I have been dedicated to the health and social care sector since 1997, starting as a carer and progressing through roles such as cardiology nurse, Night Manager of a 150-bed nursing home, and, for the last five years, Registered Home Manager. My hands-on experience has shaped my approach to care and management, ensuring compliance with regulations, fostering high-quality care, and leading dedicated teams.
I also hold an MSc in Information Systems, enabling me to leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and improve care quality. Committed to professional development, I strive to deliver exceptional care and support to those I serve.”
I joined Advinia as a Wellbeing Coordinator because the B Happie initiative perfectly aligns with my own personal values and goals. It’s all about supporting residents to feel truly at home and to live joyful, meaningful lives while in our care.
What I love most about my role is that our residents are empowered to shape their own wellbeing journey. They choose the activities they want to take part in, which gives them a strong sense of purpose, connection, and independence. We also encourage residents to continue the hobbies they’ve always loved, ensuring that their passions remain part of their everyday life.
It’s incredibly rewarding to see our residents smiling, engaged, and immersed in the activities they enjoy — from musical sessions and creative arts projects to reminiscing over a warm drink, playing games, or singing together. We also enjoy visits from the local church, schools, and charities, which help strengthen our connection with the community.
At Cloisters, we love celebrating key calendar events, staying active with yoga, musical chair exercises, and sports days, and spending time together in our beautiful garden or over friendly chats in the Cloisters Café.
At Cloisters, B Happie isn’t just a slogan — it’s a way of life. When our residents are happy, we’re all happy together!
