Maycroft Residential Care

I have visited relatives and friends in other care facilities but Maycroft stands out with Neshie and Simone's enthusiasm and dedication. It is always a pleasure to visit.

Mum's been living at Maycroft since August 2025. I visit her regularly, and I'm greeted with a warm hello from the staff, they are friendly and chatty. Mum is well cared for, treated with respect, and the home organises regular activities like flower arranging, musical bingo, cooking, and more - she's genuinely happy. The staff and carers really do show they care. Morale's high at Maycroft and it's lovely to see. They go out of their way to make each resident feel special on birthdays and arrange events like BBQs, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, and they regularly arrange musical entertainment. The staff's crazy dancing is amusing to watch :) Neshi is a fantastic and dedicated Care Home Manager, professional and well respected by her team and family members. Neshie is always seen, chatting with the residents, and is always available if families need to speak with her. It's a loving home with a family feel to it. I'm looking forward to seeing more memories made. Thank you Maycroft

Although Linda was only a resident of Maycroft for some 10 months I was and still am treated as part of the Maycroft family and I intend to maintain my contact with them.

Our mother was resident at Maycroft from Sept 24 to Jan 25. In that time she was well cared for in all respects and treated as an individual. We felt that she was loved with all her 'quirks' being appreciated. Her 100th birthday was a joyous occasion with family and staff very involved. All the staff at Maycroft led by a very dedicated manager made every special occasion very special indeed, even though space is restricted due to on going works.. We feel the care of our mother and of the family during our visits was exceptional. I would note that the Home's close connection with the local health provider gave us great peace of mind. We cannot thank all the staff enough for the care they gave to our mother at the end of her stay. Thank you to everyone.

Care team are caring and attentive, responds positively to appropriately to residents needs.

The laundering and care of residents clothes needs to be improved.

The manager is very approachable, responds positively to any issues raised or requests made.

We could not be happier with the care my mum received whilst at Maycroft, she was treated with dignity right to, & beyond, the very end. Everybody at Maycroft makes it what it is, a loving home with a family feel. We couldn't have asked for anywhere better for mum to have been. Thank you so much!

We looked at several care homes but put my father in Maycroft simply because the residents were clearly happy - it's a home. Other care homes felt like we would be leaving him at an airport, physically well looked after but lonely. Whenever I visit him he's in the social area and smiling. He likes the activities they run and the companionship of the staff and other residents. If my children put me in Maycroft when my time comes I'll be perfectly happy about it - I think that's the best you can ask for

Maycroft has a very welcoming family attitude to both residents and families of resident. Maycroft have friendly easy to talk to staff who can liase with relatives of residents well. Maycroft has very nice well fitted rooms which look clean and well presented. The management at Maycroft try to involve you in the care and life of the resident and tell you what's going on as much as possible . On the whole it's a good well maintained home with good staff who care for your loved one.

Maycroft Care home provides a warm family atmosphere for Mum. The garden is lovely and a lot of effort has gone into it looking nice for the residents. It's a great space for the residents to sit in and my mum can have guests and sit with them outside in the shade. The staff are always welcoming and accommodating. Mum has lots of activities provided at the home and had a trip out to Felixstowe at the coast this June. The GP visits regularly and mum is always monitored with blood tests and check ups, it's really been a great little care home to discover in Meldreth. With under 25 residents creating a more homely effect. Many thanks to all the staff for looking after my mum.

The staff at Maycroft treat their residents with the utmost professionalism whilst treating them as people with feelings and personality. They always put everything into an event, be it someone's birthday or a special day in the year, they always make it fun and inclusive. Care standards are high.

I would like to thank all the staff at Maycroft for the wonderful 100th birthday party they organised for our mother. Some of her grandchildren visited the weekend before and were made very welcome. On the day there was entertainment followed by a fish and chip lunch for all her family, served outside in the garden. We also enjoyed a delicious birthday cake and some 'bubbly' with her. Thank you.

We had a most joyful and happy celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday 30th March. The main communal area was colourfully decorated. There was much singing and dancing and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and singing along. The tea was excellent too! The staff were very attentive to their residents and very prompt in attending to their needs. Overall, I have every confidence they are looking after our mother with every good intention and care. The professional team are very friendly and open to all our requests. They always have a smile. They frequently ask us if we would like tea or coffee or water. It is so warming to be welcomed and the residence is so homely.

I visited Maycroft Residential Care Home on Mother's Day and was moved by the caring of all the staff who go the extra mile to bring happiness to the residents. The Party food was delicious and well presented and the staff took care to adhere to all hygiene rules. The Manager is very professional and gets involved with everything. All staff, Manager and catering staff get a ten out of ten from me.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Maycroft since 2016 and has had exemplary care from Maycroft and all staff with all needs being met to a high standard. The new manager is such a caring person and always helpful.

In summary, the home gives me peace of mind that Mum is being looked after by people who care and can adapt to Mum's changing condition when needed but more importantly Mum is happy living here.

They go out of their way to ensure they give their full support wherever needed.

I would not hesitate in recommending Maycroft to friends looking for a residential home for their loved ones.

My aunt has been very well cared for and enjoys a little bit of pampering that she didn't allow herself at home. There have been activities and socialising even when external events have made staffing difficult. Easy communication has been reassuring.

Staff members are cheerful and always helpful.

My mum is in Maycroft and has a lovely downstairs en-suite garden room. The staff are caring and there is a real homely feel in the home, lots of chatter music and laughter, and always someone to chat with and support them. The manager is first class and goes over and above for every resident and communication home from the senior team regarding Mum's health and concern is so very reassuring. I would certainly recommend this smaller homely care home.
