Caring friendly care staff. Great communication between staff and relatives as to health and welfare. Support staff always have time to welcome and greet visitors. Reassured my relative receives care and support for her needs. Lots of entertainment and different activities if residents wish to join in.

Thank you

My mum-in-law went into Parkview May 22. We live in Spain and were a bit upset at the time but family in the UK arranged and did their best for her. She has dementia and couldn't stay in her home. She took time to settle but with the care of the staff it is now not a home it's her home.

It's great for us to be able to look at the social media page and see what she is doing each day. It helps us feel connected. The staff were fab when sadly they had the fire. You only have to look at the videos of them welcoming back the residents to see what a great place it is. It says more than words ever could.

My initial phone call made me feel cared for.
I was invited for a show round with my husband which confirmed Parkview was the right place. All staff warmly welcomed us, a meeting with the manager and deputy was very positive.

On the day of arrival for the stay we were shown to the room and provided with a welcome tray of tea/coffee/biscuits. I understand my husband was happy for the week and participated in activities. Thank you.

I have found excellent care for my husband. He has various issues and has been treated with dignity. With all care homes staffing can be a problem but Parkview staff are a high calibre and try hard to make sure all people treated well. If any issues arise, rarely, they are dealt with effectively.

The staff are very good and the care is excellent. The building is old but looking forward to seeing it after the refurbishment. On the whole, the residents are very happy and as a relative, my views and concerns are always addressed regarding my mother-in-law’s care and well-being.

Mum arrived at Parkview in December 2016, for a long weekend respite. She felt comfortable from the moment she arrived, and decided to stay. Mum loves the company and activities and organised entertainment, if she wants a quiet moment she can spend time in her very comfortable room with all her own things around her.
The staff are very caring, attentive and very professional. Mum loves the good quality food which is freshly prepared and suits her tastes. She enjoys having her hair done at the hairdresser, and her daily exercise of walking the corridors, then taking a rest in the lounge finding someone to talk to. The home is very clean and bright and provides a lovely safe place for Mum.

It is wonderful having peace of mind, knowing that she is so well looked after and happy.

Mother was admitted to Bexleyheath Care Home in 2018. Mum had her own room which was pleasant. As a suggestion, a separate to room to the TV room to keep the enjoyment of the room segregated for those residents to enjoy.

My husband moved here in 2019 after trying out several other care homes for respite over the two previous years. We chose Parkview mainly because it has a secure courtyard garden and two main exit doors operated by a key code or by reception for security. At the beginning, my husband was very active and needed to be constantly moving around. Over the 3 years, he enjoyed the daily activities, especially the music entertainment. There will always be criticism of anywhere but in the main, the care was great, the staff lovely. My husband died at Parkview in October and again, the love and respect I received was appreciated. Thank you Parkview. I will miss you!

My sister has recently moved into Parkview home after leaving her previous residential home, where she had lived for more than 25 years. All the staff have been very helpful, kind and accommodating towards her. She has also made a nice friend. As a family, we couldn't be more happier for her that she has moved into a clean and friendly environment. A place she can call a home.

Sad to put Mum into care but her condition made is a necessity. The home has been very accommodating meeting all her needs. Her room is nice, clean and of a good size. she has been kept clean. Her physical being has been improved no end and she seems well. Have no complaints and am grateful that people are prepared to care for their elderly in their later years with compassion.

I am not satisfied with the standard of the cooking or the quality of the food my mum is given. The other day she had what I think was macaroni cheese that was so watery and sloppy it was virtually inedible. She had a load of coleslaw on her plate that I could smell before I actually saw it - vile. She hates salad, coleslaw, and sandwiches yet that is what she is given to eat. I have made her preferences clear yet this information has been ignored. I now cook food and buy food she likes and take it in to her so that she has decent food. They are incapable of washing her clothes properly. I try to avoid buying anything white or cream because it always comes out of the wash looking utterly filthy. I've found faecal stains on her underwear and nightdresses. I've been told they wash clothes of all colours together. Why? There are over 60 residents so why not wash whites separately? My mum was always meticulous about her appearance - clean, well-laundered clothes were important to her.

The care home is clean and well kept. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Management always has time to talk about Mum. Drinks always offered. Meals are OK but very bland and boring. Residents do spend a lot of time doing "nothing", so get very bored if they have the ability to realise this. Garden is lovely and well kept. Pets add some fun.

On the whole Parkview staff are good, some of them could do with a bit more training with Dementia residents. The entertainment staff are good at interacting with residents but I feel the care staff could interact better. I know they are busy but suggest the management ask for volunteers to spend an hour or so speaking to the residents on a one to one basis so they can talk to someone about the old times they remember as my father often says he is bored or lonely and think by talking to someone else will occupy him. I am quite satisfied my father is being cared for and find the staff and management approachable if there is a problem.

The overall atmosphere of the home is pleasant and the staff are welcoming. You can visit anytime although meals times are best avoided. Tea is served at various times and guests are offered a cup (and even a biscuit!). The home is always very warm and is well maintained and clean. The rooms are of a reasonable size and the residents can add their own touches by adding their own furniture, TV, pictures etc. They keep the residents amused by playing games, sing songs and visits from the church, if they want to join in, and are encouraged to do so. Doctors, optician and hairdresser (additional charge) also call in. On a few occasions there are visits out (afternoon tea/plays etc.).

In general, there is little to complain about apart from maybe the cost, but it's in line with similar establishments.

She enjoyed the freedom of getting out of her home to be with friends in a safe and secure environment. The staff also went above and beyond to check on my father to make sure that he was coping.
