Parkview care home, located in the busy shopping area of Bexleyheath in the London area, provides a wealth of support services for people living with dementia, with the aim of not just providing care and comfort, but also a new, positive and more engaging stage in their lives. The team of qualified and attentive staff provide 24-hour specialist person-centred dementia care.

Additional to the home is a 20 place day centre where social activities and community contact are of paramount importance.

At the heart of Parkview is its Philosophy of Care, The Eden alternative, where social interaction and engagement are encouraged and boredom is eradicated by addressing the three plagues of loneliness, helplessness and boredom within the home.

Hairdressing is not included although hair washing and drying is provided under personal care. Newspapers and some outings are also not included. Top up fees are considered.

My dad is ex-army, very time and routine driven and doesn't like journeys or change.
However, luckily staff knew dad would get involved and benefit from a visit to Buckingham Palace with 'The Unforgotten Society'.
Dad was thrilled to be invited and on his return has talked animatedly about it since
- retaining all the details.

The care my mum receives is exceptional, the staff are attentive, patient, kind and caring. They help to take some of the guilt away from the family knowing that my mum is in such a caring and comfortable environment. The staff are amazing.

The care home staff are always very helpful, they are very caring and friendly. They also notify us if my mum is not well or the doctors have come to see her and given any medication. We are notified of any problems if my mum needs anything different from home, such an underwear, clothing and toiletries
that she prefers. They all treat her really well and she is very happy there.

I am more than happy with my wife being here nearly 4 and a half years she is looked after so well. I still love my wife dearly she is a bit doubtful of me though.

Mum has only been here for a month and we have found the staff excellent and very understanding. It is taking Mum a while to settle in but everyone is so helpful and kind, not only easing Mum in, but also putting the family at ease.

I have only good things to say about Parkview. My mum has been there for about 3 years and the staff take fantastic care of her. They are friendly and obviously very hard working. However, when we come to visit, we always get offered a drink and some biscuits. The home put on events for the residents
and we are always invited to attend. I cannot fault the care my mum receives and we, as a family, are very happy with the care she gets.

The home is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is of a good quality and fulfils my father's dietary needs. His room is of a good size and kept clean. He always appears clean and well dressed. The home has a good activities team who endeavor to keep residents occupied. There
is a nice garden with new and modern furniture. Overall, very pleased with facilities.

Myself and my three brother's visited this home for our mother. All of the staff were very helpful. The team leader was a great host and she made us very welcome and answered so many of our questions. The home is lovely and bright, it feels welcoming and has great facilities. We thought it was great
that residents can get involved in everyday tasks, such as making their own tea and washing up. The team were so upbeat and positive it was a lovely experience. I would recommend to others.
