Ridgeway Lodge Care Home

Personally I find it a shame that the large garden area is mainly unused, with most residents staying indoors every day, but I appreciate it can be too much work to encourage or take them outdoors. A flat floor from inside to outside is needed.

I am happy with the care and support I receive. The staff are patient and friendly, and they take the time to listen to me and respond to my needs promptly. The manager is also very friendly approachable and always willing to assist whenever needed.

Always clean premises, lovely garden and dining area, conservatory and good location. Ability to use kitchen facilities to make one's own drink was appreciated, after our journey. Resident was very happy with his room and staff were kind and considerate, offering choices and information. Nutritious food offered. Disappointing that Home GP did not act on our relative's poor hearing when he was first examined; early action should have provided earwax removal, a hearing aid and easier communication. Waiting to be let in was frustrating - we sometimes waited for 10 min, ringing bell several times. We had the key code when relative was on end of life care, but it was revoked when resident was returned to palliative care. As recognised and trusted relatives, who always signed in and out, easier access would have been appreciated.

After taking the big decision for Dad to be cared for, we are so happy we chose Ridgeway Lodge. On arrival, the staff was so friendly and welcoming, they made a big fuss of dad and put him at ease, as well as making us feel better.

I have been visiting a group of residents once a month for a number of years. Staff are always welcoming and the residents seem happy. I often see the same carers and they seem to have a good relationship with their residents.

Everyone very helpful and caring. Food very appetising. Nicely served and hot. All carers supportive. Proactive with activities to stimulate clients. Always plenty of carers around to assist clients.

Foz and Radzan. The 2 people have been very special to me as I experienced a very bad day. When Dickie was in a very bad state crying made me cry. But these 2 carers were excellent care given to Dickie or myself. ALso Tanya. All experienced.

Michelle the manager has been helpful supportive and kind and protective. Food lovely and the people are great. Karen activity has treated me with dignity and respect

The manager has a caring attitude and is very understanding and always is available should you need to speak to them. Also the under manager also. And all the staff are helpful and willing to help you if needed. This home from home is excellent. I am so pleased to have my husband Richard here, after a not very pleasant experience previously, it was hard having to be apart after 65 years of marriage. But I am at peace now knowing he is in a lovely home being cared for with care and dignity. Many thanks to you all.

I'm very pleased with the overall care provided to my wife. The staff are exceptional, always friendly, approachable and willing to engage in conversation or assist with any concerns we may have.

Approachable manager. Kind staff. Clean building. People treated with dignity respect.

The first time I visited my grandad I felt the atmosphere to be very calm and all residence appeared to be settled, including my grandad. The staff interacted with residents, treating them with care and respect which made me feel very comfortable for my grandad. The home was spotless and smelt very fresh. I am happy with my grandad living at Ridgeway.

Dad has settled in really well. Staff/management encourage Dad to be involved in activities that he would never of done whilst living with me. Staff interact with Dad and they have friendly banter which Dad loves. The care home is always spotlessly clean and smells fresh. Dad is always treated with dignity and respect and not forced to do anything he doesn't wish to do. Staff and management are friendly and approachable, lovely atmosphere. I am very pleased all round with the care and support provided. Thank you.

Mt mother in law's experience at Ridgeway Lodge Care Home was a happy and very settled one. In fact, she referred to it as her home, which was very comforting to us as her family. She loved her room which was always warm and comfortable for her. She also loved the staff, who were kind, caring, polite and helpful. They all treated her with such dignity. In fact, they were all amazing and were all very sad when she recently passed away.

I enjoyed the Christmas party! Great that Mum was encouraged to dance.

Mum has been here 2 weeks and we are very happy with the care.

Everyone is friendly! They don't all wear a name badge.

After a friend moved to Ridgeway in the summer, have visited here three times and always found the staff and building environment to be welcoming and friendly. Arriving often after lunch, the cooking smells are fabulous. Christmas decorations and atmosphere are uplifting. Most importantly telling is what my mentally it has lifted her enormously.
